1 D o the Jews have anything that those who are not Jews do not have? What good does it do to go through the religious act of becoming a Jew?

Entonces ¿qué? Si algunos fueron infieles (incrédulos), ¿acaso su infidelidad (incredulidad) anulará la fidelidad de Dios?

4 N o, not at all! God is always true even if every man lies. The Holy Writings say, “Speak the truth and you will not be proven guilty.”

¡De ningún modo! Antes bien, sea hallado Dios veraz, aunque todo hombre sea hallado mentiroso; como está escrito: “ Para que seas justificado en Tus palabras, y venzas cuando seas juzgado.”

5 I f our sins show how right God is, what can we say? Is it wrong for God to punish us for it? (I am speaking as men do.)

Pero si nuestra injusticia hace resaltar la justicia de Dios, ¿qué diremos ? ¿Acaso es injusto el Dios que expresa Su ira? Hablo en términos humanos.

6 N o, not at all! If it were wrong for God to punish us, how could He judge the world?

¡De ningún modo! Pues de otra manera, ¿cómo juzgaría Dios al mundo ?

7 I f my lies honor God by showing how true He is, why am I still being judged as a sinner?

Pero si por mi mentira la verdad de Dios abundó para Su gloria, ¿por qué también soy yo aún juzgado como pecador ?

8 W hy not say, “Let us sin that good will come from it.” (Some people have said I talk like this!) They will be punished as they should be.

¿Y por qué no decir, como se nos calumnia, y como algunos afirman que nosotros decimos: Hagamos el mal para que venga el bien ? La condenación de los tales es justa. Todos han Pecado

9 W hat about it then? Are we Jews better than the people who are not Jews? Not at all! I have already said that Jews and the people who are not Jews are all sinners.

¿Entonces qué? ¿Somos nosotros mejores que ellos ? ¡De ninguna manera! Porque ya hemos denunciado que tanto Judíos como Griegos están todos bajo pecado.

10 T he Holy Writings say, “There is not one person who is right with God. No, not even one!

Como está escrito: “ No hay justo, ni aun uno;

11 T here is not one who understands. There is not one who tries to find God.”

no hay quien entienda, no hay quien busque a Dios.

12 E veryone has turned away from God. They have all done wrong. Not one of them does what is good. No, not even one!

Todos se han desviado, a una se hicieron inutiles; no hay quien haga lo bueno, no hay ni siquiera uno.

13 T heir mouth is like an open grave. They tell lies with their tongues. Whatever they say is like the poison of snakes.

Sepulcro abierto es su garganta, engañan de continuo con su lengua. Veneno de serpientes hay bajo sus labios;

14 T heir mouths speak bad things against God. They say bad things about other people.

llena esta su boca de maldicion y amargura.

15 T hey are quick to hurt and kill people.

Sus pies son veloces para derramar sangre.

16 W herever they go, they destroy and make people suffer.

Destruccion y miseria hay en sus caminos,

17 T hey know nothing about peace.

y la senda de paz no han conocido.

18 T hey do not honor God with love and fear.”

No hay temor de Dios delante de sus ojos.” Justificación por Medio de la Fe

19 N ow we know that the Law speaks to those who live under the Law. No one can say that he does not know what sin is. Yes, every person in the world stands guilty before God.

Ahora bien, sabemos que cuanto dice la Ley, lo dice a los que están bajo la Ley, para que toda boca se calle y todo el mundo sea hecho responsable ante Dios.

20 N o person will be made right with God by doing what the Law says. The Law shows us how sinful we are.

Porque por las obras de la Ley ningún ser humano será justificado delante de El; pues por medio de la Ley viene el conocimiento del pecado.

21 B ut now God has made another way to make men right with Himself. It is not by the Law. The Law and the early preachers tell about it.

Pero ahora, aparte de la Ley, la justicia de Dios ha sido manifestada, confirmada por la Ley y los Profetas.

22 M en become right with God by putting their trust in Jesus Christ. God will accept men if they come this way. All men are the same to God.

Esta justicia de Dios por medio de la fe en Jesucristo es para todos los que creen. Porque no hay distinción,

23 F or all men have sinned and have missed the shining-greatness of God.

por cuanto todos pecaron y no alcanzan la gloria de Dios.

24 A nyone can be made right with God by the free gift of His loving-favor. It is Jesus Christ Who bought them with His blood and made them free from their sins.

Todos son justificados gratuitamente por Su gracia por medio de la redención que es en Cristo Jesús,

25 G od gave Jesus Christ to the world. Men’s sins can be forgiven through the blood of Christ when they put their trust in Him. God gave His Son Jesus Christ to show how right He is. Before this, God did not look on the sins that were done.

a quien Dios exhibió públicamente como propiciación por Su sangre a través de la fe, como demostración de Su justicia, porque en Su tolerancia, Dios pasó por alto los pecados cometidos anteriormente,

26 B ut now God proves that He is right in saving men from sin. He shows that He is the One Who has no sin. God makes anyone right with Himself who puts his trust in Jesus.

para demostrar en este tiempo Su justicia, a fin de que El sea justo y sea el que justifica al que tiene fe en Jesús.

27 W hat then do we have to be proud of? Nothing at all! Why? Is it because men obey the Law? No! It is because men put their trust in Christ.

¿Dónde está, pues, la jactancia ? Queda excluida. ¿Por cuál ley? ¿La de las obras ? No, sino por la ley de la fe.

28 T his is what we have come to know. A man is made right with God by putting his trust in Christ. It is not by his doing what the Law says.

Porque concluimos que el hombre es justificado por la fe aparte de las obras de la Ley.

29 I s God the God of the Jews only? Is He not the God of the people who are not Jews also? He is for sure.

¿O es Dios el Dios de los Judíos solamente? ¿No es también el Dios de los Gentiles? Sí, también de los Gentiles,

30 H e is one God. He will make Jews and the people who are not Jews right with Himself if they put their trust in Christ.

porque en verdad Dios es uno, el cual justificará en virtud de la fe a los circuncisos y por medio de la fe a los incircuncisos.

31 D oes this mean that we do away with the Law when we put our trust in Christ? No, not at all. It means we know the Law is important.

¿Anulamos entonces la Ley por medio de la fe? ¡De ningún modo! Al contrario, confirmamos la Ley.
