1 I n the 480th year after the people of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s rule over Israel, in the month of Ziv, the second month, he began to build the house of the Lord.

Y sucedió que en el año 480 después que los Israelitas salieron de la tierra de Egipto, en el cuarto año del reinado de Salomón sobre Israel, en el mes de Zif, que es el segundo mes, comenzó Salomón a edificar la casa (el templo) del Señor.

2 T he house which King Solomon built for the Lord was as long as thirty long steps, as wide as ten long steps, and eight times taller than a man.

La casa que el rey Salomón edificó para el Señor tenía 24 metros (60 codos) de largo, 9 metros de ancho y 13. 5 metros de alto.

3 A ll along the front of the House of God was a porch ten long steps long and five long steps wide. It was as long as the house was wide.

Y el pórtico delante de la nave del templo tenía 9 metros de largo, conforme al ancho de la casa, y su ancho al frente de la casa era de 4. 5 metros.

4 H e made windows for the house with beautiful cross-pieces.

También para la casa hizo ventanas con celosías.

5 H e made a building of rooms against the outer walls of three sides of the house. These rooms were three floors high.

Junto a la pared de la casa edificó pisos alrededor de las paredes de la casa, tanto de la nave como del santuario interior. También hizo cámaras laterales en derredor.

6 T he bottom floor was as wide as three steps. The second floor was as wide as three long steps. And the third floor was as wide as four steps. For around the outside of the house he made places for the large wood cross-pieces to rest on. That way they would not need to be put into holes in the walls of the house.

El piso inferior tenía 2. 25 metros de ancho, el del medio tenía 2. 7 metros de ancho, y el tercero tenía 3. 2 metros de ancho; porque por fuera hizo rebajos en la pared de la casa por todo alrededor para no empotrar las vigas en las paredes de la casa.

7 T he house was built of stone that was cut at the place where it was taken from the ground. There was no noise of a hammer or an ax or any iron object heard in the house while it was being built.

La casa, mientras se edificaba, se construía de piedras preparadas en la cantera; y no se oyó ni martillo ni hacha ni ningún instrumento de hierro en la casa mientras la construían.

8 T he door for the first floor room was on the right side of the house. They would go up steps to the second floor, and from the second to the third.

La entrada a la cámara lateral inferior estaba al lado derecho de la casa; y se subía por una escalera de caracol al piso del medio, y del medio al tercero.

9 S o he built the house and finished it. And he made the roof of the house of large pieces of cedar wood.

Edificó, pues, la casa y la terminó; y cubrió la casa con vigas y tablas de cedro.

10 H e built the three floors against the outside wall of the house. Each one was as high as a man could raise his hand. They were joined to the house with big pieces of cedar wood.

También edificó pisos junto a toda la casa, cada uno de 2. 25 metros de alto, y estaban asegurados a la casa con vigas de cedro.

11 N ow the word of the Lord came to Solomon, saying,

Y la palabra del Señor vino a Salomón, diciéndole:

12 “ If you obey My Laws and keep My Word, then I will keep My promise with you, which I spoke to your father David about this house you are building.

“En cuanto a esta casa que estás edificando, si tú andas en Mis estatutos, cumples Mis ordenanzas y guardas todos Mis mandamientos andando en ellos, Yo cumpliré Mi palabra contigo, la cual hablé a David tu padre.

13 I will live among the sons of Israel. And I will not leave My people Israel alone.”

Habitaré en medio de los Israelitas, y no abandonaré a Mi pueblo Israel.” El Lugar Santísimo

14 S o Solomon built the house and finished it.

Cuando Salomón terminó de edificar la casa,

15 H e built the walls of the house on the inside with pieces of cedar wood. He put wood over the inside walls from the floor of the house to the roof. And he put pieces of cypress wood over the floor of the house.

construyó las paredes de la casa por dentro con tablas de cedro. Desde el suelo de la casa hasta el techo recubrió las paredes interiores con madera. También recubrió el piso de la casa con tablas de ciprés.

16 A n inside room called the most holy place was built in the back part of the house with pieces of cedar wood, from the floor to the roof and as wide as ten long steps.

Edificó los 9 metros del fondo de la casa con tablas de cedro desde el suelo hasta el techo. Así le edificó el santuario interior, el Lugar Santísimo.

17 T he rest of the house, the center room in front of the most holy place, was as long as twenty long steps.

La casa, es decir, la nave delante del santuario interior tenía 18 metros de largo.

18 T here was cedar on the house within, cut to look like gourds and open flowers. It was all cedar. No stone was seen.

Y por dentro la casa estaba revestida de cedro tallado en forma de calabazas y flores abiertas. Todo era de cedro, no se veía la piedra.

19 T hen he built the most holy place inside the house, in which to put the special box of the agreement.

Entonces preparó dentro de la casa el santuario interior, para colocar allí el arca del pacto del Señor.

20 T he most holy place was as long as ten long steps, as wide as ten long steps, and more than five times taller than a man. He covered it with pure gold. And he covered the altar with cedar.

El santuario interior tenía 9 metros de largo, 9 metros de ancho y 9 metros de alto, y lo revistió de oro puro. El altar lo recubrió de cedro.

21 S olomon covered the inside of the house with pure gold. He crossed the front of the most holy place with chains of gold, and he covered it with gold.

Salomón revistió el interior de la casa de oro puro. Puso cadenas de oro a lo largo del frente del santuario interior, y lo revistió de oro.

22 H e covered the whole house with gold, until all the house was finished. And he covered the whole altar by the most holy place with gold.

Revistió de oro toda la casa, hasta que toda la casa estuvo terminada. También revistió de oro todo el altar que estaba junto al santuario interior.

23 I n the most holy place he made two cherubim of olive wood. Each one was almost three times taller than a man.

También en el santuario interior hizo dos querubines de madera de olivo, cada uno de 4. 5 metros de alto.

24 O ne wing of the cherub was as long as three steps. And the other wing of the cherub was as long as three steps. It was as far as five long steps from the end of one wing to the end of the other wing.

Un ala del querubín tenía 2. 25 metros y la otra ala del querubín 2. 25 metros. Desde la punta de una de sus alas hasta la punta de la otra de sus alas había 4. 5 metros.

25 I t was as much as five long steps between the ends of the wings of the other cherub also. Both the cherubim were the same height, length and width, and they looked alike.

El otro querubín también medía 4. 5 metros; ambos querubines tenían la misma medida y la misma forma.

26 E ach of the cherubim was almost three times taller than a man.

La altura de uno de los querubines era de 4. 5 metros, y asimismo la del otro querubín.

27 H e put the cherubim in the most holy place of the house. The wings of the cherubim were spread out. The wing of the one cherub was touching the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub was touching the other wall. So their wings were touching each other in the center of the house.

Colocó los querubines en medio de la casa interior; las alas de los querubines se extendían de modo que el ala del uno tocaba una pared y el ala del otro querubín tocaba la otra pared. Sus otras dos alas se tocaban ala con ala en el centro de la casa.

28 H e covered the cherubim with gold.

También revistió de oro los querubines.

29 T hen he cut pictures in all the walls around the house to look like cherubim, palm trees and open flowers, in the center room and the most holy place.

Luego esculpió todas las paredes de la casa en derredor con grabados de figuras de querubines, palmeras y flores abiertas, tanto el santuario interior como el exterior.

30 H e covered the floor of the house with gold, in the center room and the most holy place.

Revistió de oro el piso de la casa, del santuario interior y el exterior.

31 H e made doors of olive wood for the most holy place. The top and sides of the door had five sides.

Para la entrada del santuario interior, Salomón hizo puertas de madera de olivo, el dintel y postes pentagonales.

32 H e cut pictures in the two doors of olive wood, to look like cherubim, palm trees and open flowers, and covered them with gold. He spread the gold on the cherubim and on the palm trees.

Las dos puertas eran de madera de olivo, y talló en ellas figuras de querubines, palmeras y flores abiertas, y las revistió de oro; cubrió también de oro los querubines y las palmeras.

33 F or the doorway of the center room he made four-sided side pieces of olive wood

Además para la entrada de la nave hizo postes cuadrangulares de madera de olivo,

34 a nd two doors of cypress wood. Each door had two moving parts.

y dos puertas de madera de ciprés; las dos hojas de una puerta eran giratorias, y las dos hojas de la otra puerta también eran giratorias.

35 O n them he cut pictures of cherubim, palm trees and open flowers. And he covered the pictures with an even covering of gold.

Talló en ellas querubines, palmeras y flores abiertas, y las revistió de oro bien ajustado a la talladura.

36 H e built the inside place with three rows of cut stone and one row of large pieces of cedar wood.

Edificó el atrio interior con tres hileras de piedra labrada y una hilera de vigas de cedro.

37 I n the fourth year the base of the house was laid in the month of Ziv.

En el cuarto año, en el mes de Zif, se echaron los cimientos de la casa del Señor,

38 I n the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, the eighth month, all the parts of the house were finished just as all the plans had been made. Solomon took seven years to build it.

y en el año undécimo, en el mes de Bul, que es el mes octavo, la casa fue acabada en todas sus partes y conforme a todos sus planos. La edificó, pues, en siete años.
