1 “ When all these things have come upon you, the good things and the curses which I have told you about, you will remember them in all the nations where the Lord your God has sent you.

“Y sucederá que cuando todas estas cosas hayan venido sobre ti, la bendición y la maldición que he puesto delante de ti, y tú las recuerdes en todas las naciones adonde el Señor tu Dios te haya desterrado,

2 W hen you and your children return to the Lord your God and obey Him with all your heart and soul by all I have told you today,

y vuelvas al Señor tu Dios, tú y tus hijos, y Le obedezcas con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma conforme a todo lo que yo te ordeno hoy,

3 t hen the Lord your God will have you return from where you were held. He will have loving-pity for you. He will gather you again from all the nations where the Lord your God has sent you.

entonces el Señor tu Dios te hará volver de tu cautividad, y tendrá compasión de ti y te recogerá de nuevo de entre todos los pueblos adonde el Señor tu Dios te haya dispersado.

4 E ven if you are driven to the ends of the earth, the Lord your God will gather you and bring you back.

Si tus desterrados están en los confines de la tierra, de allí el Señor tu Dios te recogerá y de allí te hará volver.

5 T he Lord your God will bring you into the land your fathers lived in and it will be yours. He will bring good to you and make you more in number than your fathers.

Y el Señor tu Dios te llevará a la tierra que tus padres poseyeron, y tú la poseerás; y El te prosperará y te multiplicará más que a tus padres.

6 T he Lord your God will take away the sin from your heart and from the heart of your children. You will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so you may live.

“Además, el Señor tu Dios circuncidará tu corazón y el corazón de tus descendientes, para que ames al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma, a fin de que vivas.

7 T hen the Lord your God will send all these curses upon those who hate you and upon those who made it hard for you.

El Señor tu Dios pondrá todas estas maldiciones sobre los enemigos y sobre los aborrecedores que te persiguieron.

8 Y ou will obey the Lord again, and keep all His Laws which I tell you today.

Y tú volverás a escuchar la voz del Señor, y guardarás todos sus mandamientos que yo te ordeno hoy.

9 A nd the Lord your God will bring much good upon all the work you do, and upon your children, and the young of your cattle, and the food of your field. For the Lord will again be happy to bring good to you, just as He was happy with your fathers.

Entonces el Señor tu Dios te hará prosperar abundantemente en toda la obra de tu mano, en el fruto de tu vientre, en el fruto de tu ganado y en el producto de tu tierra, pues el Señor de nuevo se deleitará en ti para bien, tal como se deleitó en tus padres,

10 B ut you must obey the Lord your God to keep His Laws which are written in this book of the Law. You must turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and soul. Life or Death

si obedeces a la voz del Señor tu Dios, guardando Sus mandamientos y Sus estatutos que están escritos en este Libro de la Ley, y si te vuelves al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma.

11 “ For this Law I give you today is not too hard for you, or too far from you.

“Este mandamiento que yo te ordeno hoy no es muy difícil para ti, ni está fuera de tu alcance.

12 I t is not in heaven. You do not need to say, ‘Who will go up to heaven for us and bring it down to make us hear it, so we may obey it?’

No está en el cielo, para que digas: ‘¿Quién subirá por nosotros al cielo para traérnoslo y hacérnoslo oír a fin de que lo guardemos ?’

13 I t is not farther than the sea. You do not need to say, ‘Who will cross the sea for us and bring it to us to make us hear it, so we may obey it?’

Ni está más allá del mar, para que digas: ‘¿Quién cruzará el mar por nosotros para traérnoslo y para hacérnoslo oír, a fin de que lo guardemos?’

14 B ut the Word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, so that you may obey it.

15 “ See, I have put in front of you today life and what is good, and death and what is bad.

16 I tell you today to love the Lord your God. Walk in His ways. Keep all His Laws and all that He has decided. Then you will live and become many. And the Lord your God will bring good to you in the land you are going in to take.

Hoy te ordeno amar al Señor tu Dios, andar en Sus caminos y guardar Sus mandamientos, Sus estatutos y Sus decretos, para que vivas y te multipliques, a fin de que el Señor tu Dios te bendiga en la tierra que vas a entrar para poseerla.

17 B ut if your heart turns away and you will not obey, but leave to worship other gods and serve them,

Pero si tu corazón se desvía y no escuchas, sino que te dejas arrastrar y te postras ante otros dioses y los sirves,

18 I tell you today that you will die for sure. You will not live long in that land across the Jordan which you are about to take for your own.

Yo les declaro hoy que ciertamente perecerán. No prolongarán sus días en la tierra adonde tú vas, cruzando el Jordán para entrar en ella y poseerla.

19 I call heaven and earth to speak against you today. I have put in front of you life and death, the good and the curse. So choose life so you and your children after you may live.

Al cielo y a la tierra pongo hoy como testigos contra ustedes de que he puesto ante ti la vida y la muerte, la bendición y la maldición. Escoge, pues, la vida para que vivas, tú y tu descendencia,

20 L ove the Lord your God and obey His voice. Hold on to Him. For He is your life, and by Him your days will be long. You will be allowed to live in the land the Lord promised to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.”

amando al Señor tu Dios, escuchando Su voz y allegándote a El; porque eso es tu vida y la largura de tus días, para que habites en la tierra que el Señor juró dar a tus padres Abraham, Isaac y Jacob.”
