1 T he person who believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God. The person who loves the Father loves His children also.

Todo aquél que cree que Jesús es el Cristo (el Mesías), es nacido de Dios. Todo aquél que ama al Padre, ama al que ha nacido de El.

2 T his is the way we know we love God’s children. It is when we love God and obey His Word.

En esto sabemos que amamos a los hijos de Dios: cuando amamos a Dios y guardamos Sus mandamientos.

3 L oving God means to obey His Word, and His Word is not hard to obey.

Porque éste es el amor de Dios: que guardemos Sus mandamientos, y Sus mandamientos no son difíciles.

4 E very child of God has power over the sins of the world. The way we have power over the sins of the world is by our faith.

Porque todo lo que es nacido de Dios vence al mundo. Y ésta es la victoria que ha vencido al mundo: nuestra fe.

5 W ho could have power over the world except by believing that Jesus is the Son of God?

¿Y quién es el que vence al mundo, sino el que cree que Jesús es el Hijo de Dios ? El Testimonio acerca del Hijo

6 J esus Christ came by water and blood. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. The Holy Spirit speaks about this and He is truth.

Este es Aquél que vino mediante agua y sangre, Jesucristo; no sólo con agua, sino con agua y con sangre. Y el Espíritu es el que da testimonio, porque el Espíritu es la verdad.

7 T here are three Who speak of this in heaven: the Father and the Word and the Holy Spirit. These three are one.

Porque tres son los que dan testimonio en el cielo: el Padre, el Verbo (Jesucristo), y el Espíritu Santo, y estos tres son uno. Y tres son los que dan testimonio en la tierra:

8 T here are three who speak of this on the earth: the Holy Spirit and the water and the blood. These three speak the same thing.

el Espíritu, el agua, y la sangre, y los tres concuerdan.

9 I f we believe what men say, we can be sure what God says is more important. God has spoken as He has told us about His Son.

Si recibimos el testimonio de los hombres, mayor es el testimonio de Dios; porque éste es el testimonio de Dios: que El ha dado testimonio acerca de Su Hijo.

10 T he person who puts his trust in God’s Son knows in his own heart that Jesus is the Son of God. The person who does not have his trust in God’s Son makes God a liar. It is because he has not believed the word God spoke about His Son.

El que cree en el Hijo de Dios tiene el testimonio en sí mismo. El que no cree a Dios, ha hecho a Dios mentiroso, porque no ha creído en el testimonio que Dios ha dado respecto a Su Hijo.

11 T his is the word He spoke: God gave us life that lasts forever, and this life is in His Son.

Y el testimonio es éste: que Dios nos ha dado vida eterna, y esta vida está en Su Hijo.

12 H e that has the Son has life. He that does not have the Son of God does not have life.

El que tiene al Hijo tiene la vida, y el que no tiene al Hijo de Dios, no tiene la vida. El Conocimiento de la Vida Eterna

13 I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God. Now you can know you have life that lasts forever.

Estas cosas les he escrito a ustedes que creen en el nombre del Hijo de Dios, para que sepan que tienen vida eterna.

14 W e are sure that if we ask anything that He wants us to have, He will hear us.

Esta es la confianza que tenemos delante de El, que si pedimos cualquier cosa conforme a Su voluntad, El nos oye.

15 I f we are sure He hears us when we ask, we can be sure He will give us what we ask for.

Y si sabemos que El nos oye en cualquier cosa que pidamos, sabemos que tenemos las peticiones que Le hemos hecho.

16 Y ou may see a Christian brother sinning in a way that does not lead to death. You should pray for him. God will give him life unless he has done that sin that leads to death. There is a sin that leads to death. There is no reason to pray for him if he has done that sin.

Si alguien ve a su hermano cometiendo un pecado que no lleva a la muerte, pedirá, y por él Dios dará vida a los que cometen pecado que no lleva a la muerte. Hay un pecado que lleva a la muerte; yo no digo que se deba pedir por ése.

17 E very kind of wrong-doing is sin. But there is a sin that does not lead to death.

Toda injusticia es pecado, pero hay pecado que no lleva a la muerte. Declaraciones Finales

18 W e know that no child of God keeps on sinning. The Son of God watches over him and the devil cannot get near him.

Sabemos que todo el que ha nacido de Dios, no peca; sino que Aquél que nació de Dios lo guarda y el maligno no lo toca.

19 W e know that we belong to God, but the whole world is under the power of the devil.

Sabemos que somos de Dios, y que el mundo entero está bajo el poder del maligno.

20 W e know God’s Son has come. He has given us the understanding to know Him Who is the true God. We are joined together with the true God through His Son, Jesus Christ. He is the true God and the life that lasts forever.

Y sabemos que el Hijo de Dios ha venido y nos ha dado entendimiento a fin de que conozcamos a Aquél que es verdadero; y nosotros estamos en Aquél que es verdadero, en Su Hijo Jesucristo. Este es el verdadero Dios y la vida eterna.

21 M y children, keep yourselves from false gods.

Hijos, aléjense de los ídolos.
