1 T hen Moses spoke these words to all Israel.

Entonces Moisés fue y habló estas palabras a todo Israel,

2 H e said to them, “I am 120 years old today. I am no longer able to come and go. And the Lord has told me, ‘You will not cross this Jordan.’

y les dijo: “Hoy tengo 120 años; ya no puedo ir ni venir, y el Señor me ha dicho: ‘No pasarás este Jordán.’

3 T he Lord your God Himself will cross before you. He will destroy these nations in front of you. And you will take their place. Joshua will cross before you also, as the Lord has said.

El Señor tu Dios pasará delante de ti. El destruirá estas naciones delante de ti y las desalojarás. Josué es el que pasará delante de ti, tal como el Señor ha dicho.

4 T he Lord will do the same to them that He did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, and to their land when He destroyed them.

El Señor hará con ellos como hizo con Sehón y con Og, reyes de los Amorreos, y con su tierra cuando El los destruyó.

5 T he Lord will give them to you. Then you will do to them as I have told you.

Y el Señor los entregará delante de ustedes y harán con ellos conforme a los mandamientos que les he ordenado.

6 B e strong and have strength of heart. Do not be afraid or shake with fear because of them. For the Lord your God is the One Who goes with you. He will be faithful to you. He will not leave you alone.”

Sean firmes y valientes, no teman ni se aterroricen ante ellos, porque el Señor tu Dios es el que va contigo; no te dejará ni te desamparará.”

7 T hen Moses called Joshua and said to him in front of all Israel, “Be strong and have strength of heart. For you will go with this people into the land the Lord has promised to their fathers to give them. And you will bring them in to take it.

Entonces Moisés llamó a Josué y le dijo en presencia de todo Israel: “Sé firme y valiente, porque tú entrarás con este pueblo en la tierra que el Señor ha jurado a sus padres que les daría, y se la darás en heredad.

8 T he Lord is the One Who goes before you. He will be with you. He will be faithful to you and will not leave you alone. Do not be afraid or troubled.” Reading of the Law Every Seven Years

9 S o Moses wrote this Law and gave it to the religious leaders, the sons of Levi who carried the special box of the Law of the Lord, and to all the leaders of Israel.

Moisés escribió esta ley y la dio a los sacerdotes, hijos de Leví, que llevaban el arca del pacto del Señor, y a todos los ancianos de Israel.

10 T hen Moses told them, “At the end of every seven years, at the time when money owed is done away with at the Special Supper of Tents,

Entonces Moisés les ordenó: “Al fin de cada siete años, durante el tiempo del año de la remisión de deudas, en la Fiesta de los Tabernáculos,

11 w hen all Israel comes to stand before the Lord your God at the place He will choose, you must read this Law so all Israel will hear it.

cuando todo Israel venga a presentarse delante del Señor tu Dios en el lugar que El escoja, leerás esta ley delante de todo Israel, a oídos de ellos.

12 G ather together the people in your town, the men and the women, the children, and the stranger. So they may hear and learn and fear the Lord your God. Be careful to obey all the words of this Law.

Congrega al pueblo, hombres, mujeres y niños, y al extranjero que está en tu ciudad, para que escuchen, aprendan a temer al Señor tu Dios, y cuiden de observar todas las palabras de esta ley.

13 T hen their children, who have not known it, will hear and learn to fear the Lord your God, as long as you live in the land you are crossing the Jordan to take.” The Lord’s Last Words to Moses

Y sus hijos, que no la conocen, la oirán y aprenderán a temer al Señor su Dios, mientras vivan en la tierra adonde ustedes van, cruzando al otro lado del Jordán para poseerla.”

14 T he Lord said to Moses, “See, the time for you to die is near. Call Joshua, and go to the meeting tent, so I may tell him what to do.” So Moses and Joshua went to the meeting tent.

Entonces el Señor dijo a Moisés: “El tiempo de tu muerte está cerca; llama a Josué y preséntense en la tienda de reunión para que Yo le dé mis órdenes.” Fueron, pues, Moisés y Josué y se presentaron en la tienda de reunión.

15 T he Lord showed Himself in a pillar of cloud which stayed at the door of the tent.

El Señor se apareció en la tienda en una columna de nube, y la columna de nube se puso a la entrada de la tienda.

16 A nd the Lord said to Moses, “See, you will soon die and be with your fathers. Then these people will soon act like a woman who sells the use of her body. They will follow the strange gods of the land where they are going. They will turn away from Me and break My agreement which I have made with them.

Y el Señor dijo a Moisés: “Mira, tú vas a dormir con tus padres; y este pueblo se levantará y fornicará tras los dioses extranjeros de la tierra en la cual va a entrar, y Me dejará y quebrantará Mi pacto que hice con él.

17 T hen My anger will burn against them. I will leave them alone and hide My face from them and they will be destroyed. Many hard things and big troubles will come upon them. So they will say in that day, ‘Have not these troubles come upon us because our God is not with us?’

Entonces Mi ira se encenderá contra él en aquel día; los abandonaré y esconderé Mi rostro de ellos. Será consumido, y muchos males y tribulaciones vendrán sobre él, por lo que dirá en aquel día: ‘¿No será porque mi Dios no está en medio de mí que me han alcanzado estos males ?’

18 B ut I will hide My face in that day because of all the sinful things they will do, for they will turn to other gods.

Pero ciertamente esconderé Mi rostro en aquel día por todo el mal que habrá hecho, pues se volverá a otros dioses.

19 S o write this song for yourselves. Teach it to the people of Israel. Put it on their lips, so this song may speak for Me against all the people of Israel.

“Ahora pues, escriban este cántico para ustedes, y tú, enséñaselo a los Israelitas; ponlo en su boca, para que este cántico Me sea por testigo contra los Israelitas.

20 F or when I bring them into the land flowing with milk and honey, which I promised to their fathers, and they eat and are filled and have become rich, they will turn to other gods and serve them. They will turn against Me and break My agreement.

Porque cuando Yo los introduzca en la tierra que mana leche y miel, la cual juré a sus padres, y ellos coman y se sacien y prosperen, se volverán a otros dioses y los servirán, y Me despreciarán y quebrantarán Mi pacto.

21 W hen many hard things and big troubles come upon them, this song will speak for Me against them. It will not be forgotten from the lips of their children and their children’s children. I know the plans they are making today, before I have brought them into the land I promised them.”

Sucederá entonces que cuando muchos males y tribulaciones vengan sobre ellos, este cántico declarará contra ellos como testigo (pues no lo olvidarán los labios de sus descendientes ). Porque Yo conozco el plan que ahora están tramando antes de que los traiga a la tierra que juré darles.”

22 S o Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it to the people of Israel.

Y escribió Moisés este cántico aquel mismo día, y lo enseñó a los Israelitas.

23 T hen the Lord said to Joshua the son of Nun, “Be strong and have strength of heart. For you will bring the people of Israel into the land I promised them. And I will be with you.”

Entonces el Señor nombró a Josué, hijo de Nun, y le dijo: “Sé fuerte y valiente, pues tú llevarás a los Israelitas a la tierra que les he jurado, y Yo estaré contigo.” La Ley es Colocada junto al Arca

24 M oses wrote the words of this Law in a book from beginning to the end.

Cuando Moisés terminó de escribir las palabras de esta ley en un libro, hasta su conclusión,

25 T hen Moses said to the Levites who carried the special box of the Law of the Lord,

ordenó a los Levitas que llevaban el arca del pacto del Señor:

26 “ Take this book of the Law and put it beside the special box of the Law of the Lord your God. It will be there to speak against you.

“Tomen este Libro de la Ley y colóquenlo junto al arca del pacto del Señor su Dios, para que permanezca allí como testigo contra ustedes.

27 F or I know how strong your will is and that you do not want to obey. See, while I am still alive with you today, you have gone against the Lord. How much worse it will be after my death!

Porque conozco su rebelión y su obstinación; si estando yo hoy todavía vivo con ustedes, han sido rebeldes contra el Señor; ¿cuánto más lo serán después de mi muerte?

28 G ather together and bring to me all the leaders and heads of your families. I will speak these words to them and call heaven and earth to speak against them.

Reúnan ante mí a todos los ancianos de sus tribus y a sus oficiales, para que hable estas palabras a sus oídos, y ponga a los cielos y a la tierra como testigos en su contra.

29 F or I know that after my death you will sin and turn from the way I have told you. Much trouble will come to you in the days to come. For you will do what is sinful in the eyes of the Lord. You will make Him angry through the work of your hands.”

Porque yo sé que después de mi muerte se corromperán y se apartarán del camino que les he mandado; y el mal vendrá sobre ustedes en los postreros días, pues harán lo que es malo a la vista del Señor, provocándole a ira con la obra de sus manos.”

30 T hen Moses spoke all the words of this song to all the people of Israel.

Entonces Moisés habló a oídos de toda la asamblea de Israel las palabras de este cántico hasta terminarlas.
