1 A re we making it sound as if we think we are so important? Other people write letters about themselves. Do we need to write such a letter to you?

¿Comenzamos otra vez a recomendarnos a nosotros mismos? ¿O acaso necesitamos, como algunos, cartas de recomendación para ustedes o de parte de ustedes?

2 Y ou are our letter. You are written in our hearts. You are known and read by all men.

Ustedes son nuestra carta, escrita en nuestros corazones, conocida y leída por todos los hombres,

3 Y ou are as a letter from Christ written by us. You are not written as other letters are written with ink, or on pieces of stone. You are written in human hearts by the Spirit of the living God.

siendo manifiesto que son carta de Cristo redactada por nosotros, no escrita con tinta, sino con el Espíritu del Dios vivo; no en tablas de piedra, sino en tablas de corazones humanos.

4 W e can say these things because of our faith in God through Christ.

Esta confianza tenemos hacia Dios por medio de Cristo.

5 W e know we are not able in ourselves to do any of this work. God makes us able to do these things.

No que seamos suficientes en nosotros mismos para pensar que cosa alguna procede de nosotros, sino que nuestra suficiencia es de Dios,

6 G od is the One Who made us preachers of a New Way of Worship. This New Way of Worship is not of the Law. It is of the Holy Spirit. The Law brings death, but the Holy Spirit gives life.

el cual también nos hizo suficientes como ministros (servidores) de un nuevo pacto, no de la letra, sino del Espíritu. Porque la letra mata, pero el Espíritu da vida.

7 T he Law of Moses was written on stone and it brought death. But God’s shining-greatness was seen when it was given. When Moses took it to the Jews, they could not look at his face because of the bright light. But that bright light in his face began to pass away.

Y si el ministerio de muerte grabado con letras en piedras fue con gloria, de tal manera que los Israelitas no podían fijar la vista en el rostro de Moisés por causa de la gloria de su rostro, la cual se desvanecía,

8 T he new way of life through the Holy Spirit comes with much more shining-greatness.

¿cómo no será aún con más gloria el ministerio del Espíritu?

9 I f the Law of Moses, that leads to death, came in shining-greatness, how much greater and brighter is the light that makes us right with God?

Porque si el ministerio de condenación tiene gloria, mucho más abunda en gloria el ministerio de justicia.

10 T he Law of Moses came with shining-greatness long ago. But that light is no longer bright. The shining-greatness of the New Way of Worship that brings us life is so much brighter.

Pues en verdad, lo que tenía gloria, en este caso no tiene gloria por razón de la gloria que lo sobrepasa.

11 T he shining light that came with the Law of Moses soon passed away. But the new way of life is much brighter. It will never pass away.

Porque si lo que se desvanece fue con gloria, mucho más es con gloria lo que permanece. Transformados de Gloria en Gloria

12 W e speak without fear because our trust is in Christ.

Teniendo, por tanto, tal esperanza, hablamos con mucha franqueza.

13 W e are not like Moses. He put a covering over his face so the Jews would not see that the bright light was passing away.

Y no somos como Moisés, que ponía un velo sobre su rostro para que los Israelitas no fijaran su vista en el fin de aquello que había de desvanecerse.

14 T heir minds were not able to understand. Even to this day when the Law is read, there is a covering over their minds. They do not see that Christ is the only One Who can take the covering away.

Pero el entendimiento de ellos se endureció. Porque hasta el día de hoy, en la lectura del antiguo pacto (testamento) el mismo velo permanece sin alzarse, pues sólo en Cristo es quitado.

15 Y es, to this day, there is a covering over their hearts whenever the Law of Moses is read.

Y hasta el día de hoy, cada vez que se lee a Moisés, un velo está puesto sobre sus corazones.

16 B ut whenever a man turns to the Lord, the covering is taken away.

Pero cuando alguien se vuelve al Señor, el velo es quitado.

17 T he heart is free where the Spirit of the Lord is. The Lord is the Spirit.

Ahora bien, el Señor es el Espíritu; y donde está el Espíritu del Señor, hay libertad.

18 A ll of us, with no covering on our faces, show the shining-greatness of the Lord as in a mirror. All the time we are being changed to look like Him, with more and more of His shining-greatness. This change is from the Lord Who is the Spirit.

Pero todos nosotros, con el rostro descubierto, contemplando como en un espejo la gloria del Señor, estamos siendo transformados en la misma imagen de gloria en gloria, como por el Señor, el Espíritu.
