1 N ow Elisha spoke to the woman whose son he had brought back to life. He said, “Get ready and go with those of your house. Stay in whatever country you can. For the Lord has called for a time of no food. It will come upon the land for seven years.”

Eliseo habló a la mujer, a cuyo hijo él había devuelto la vida, diciéndole: “Levántate y vete, tú y tu casa, y reside donde puedas residir, porque el Señor ha llamado al hambre que vendrá sobre la tierra por siete años.”

2 S o the woman got ready as the man of God had told her. She went with those of her house and stayed in the land of the Philistines seven years.

Entonces la mujer se levantó e hizo conforme a la palabra del hombre de Dios, y se fue ella con los de su casa y residió en la tierra de los Filisteos siete años.

3 A t the end of seven years she returned from the land of the Philistines. And she went out to ask the king for her house and field.

Después de los siete años, la mujer volvió de la tierra de los Filisteos; y salió a implorar al rey por su casa y por su campo.

4 N ow the king was talking with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, “Tell me all the great things that Elisha has done.”

El rey estaba hablando con Giezi, criado del hombre de Dios, diciéndole: “Te ruego que me cuentes todas las grandes cosas que ha hecho Eliseo.”

5 G ehazi started telling the king how Elisha had brought the one who was dead to life again. Then the woman whose son he had brought back to life asked the king for her house and field. And Gehazi said, “My lord, O king, this is the woman and this is her son, whom Elisha brought back to life.”

Mientras él contaba al rey cómo había devuelto la vida a un muerto, en ese momento la mujer a cuyo hijo había devuelto la vida, imploró al rey por su casa y por su campo. Y Giezi dijo: “Oh rey señor mío, ésta es la mujer y éste es su hijo, al que Eliseo devolvió la vida.”

6 W hen the king asked the woman, she told him what had happened. So the king chose a certain captain to help her, saying, “Give her all that was hers. And give her all the food taken from the field from the day she left the land until now.” The Death of Ben-hadad

Cuando el rey preguntó a la mujer, ella se lo contó. Entonces el rey le asignó un oficial, diciendo: “Restáura le todo lo que era suyo y todo el fruto del campo desde el día que dejó el país hasta ahora.” Eliseo en Damasco

7 T hen Elisha came to Damascus. Ben-hadad the king of Syria was sick, and he was told, “The man of God has come here.”

Entonces Eliseo fue a Damasco. Y Ben Adad, rey de Aram, estaba enfermo, y le avisaron: “El hombre de Dios ha venido acá.”

8 T he king said to Hazael, “Take a gift and go meet the man of God. Ask the Lord through him, saying, ‘Will I get better from this sickness?’”

Y el rey dijo a Hazael: “Toma un presente en tu mano y ve al encuentro del hombre de Dios y consulta al Señor por medio de él, diciendo: ‘¿Sanaré de esta enfermedad ?’”

9 S o Hazael went to meet Elisha and took with him a gift of every kind of good thing of Damascus. It took forty camels to carry it all. He came and stood in front of Elisha and said, “Your son Ben-hadad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying, ‘Will I get better from this sickness?’”

Hazael fue a ver a Eliseo, y tomó un presente en su mano de todo lo bueno de Damasco, la carga de cuarenta camellos; y vino y se puso delante de él y le dijo: “Su hijo Ben Adad, rey de Aram, me ha enviado a usted, y preguntarle: ‘¿Sanaré de esta enfermedad ?’”

10 E lisha said to him, “Go and tell him, ‘You will get better for sure.’ But the Lord has shown me that he will die for sure.”

Entonces Eliseo le dijo: “Ve y dile: ‘Ciertamente usted sanará ’; pero el Señor me ha mostrado que ciertamente morirá.”

11 T hen Elisha looked at Hazael until he was ashamed. And the man of God cried.

Y puso rígido su rostro y fijó sus ojos en Hazael hasta que se sintió avergonzado, y el hombre de Dios lloró.

12 H azael said, “Why are you crying, my lord?” Then Elisha answered, “Because I know the bad things that you will do to the people of Israel. You will set their strong places on fire. You will kill their young men with the sword. You will crush their little ones against the stones. And you will cut up their women who are with child.”

Y Hazael dijo: “¿Por qué llora mi señor?” Entonces respondió: “Porque sé el mal que harás a los Israelitas: incendiarás sus fortalezas, matarás a espada a sus jóvenes, estrellarás a sus niños y rasgarás el vientre a sus mujeres encinta.”

13 H azael said, “What is your servant, only a dog, that he should do this bad thing?” Elisha answered, “The Lord has shown me that you will be the king of Syria.”

Entonces Hazael dijo: “Pero, ¿qué es su siervo, sino un perro, para que haga tan enorme cosa ?” Y Eliseo respondió: “El Señor me ha mostrado que usted será rey de Aram.”

14 T hen he left Elisha and returned to his owner. Ben-hadad said to him, “What did Elisha tell you?” And Hazael answered, “He told me that you will get better for sure.”

Entonces Hazael se alejó de Eliseo y regresó a su señor, quien le dijo: “¿Qué te dijo Eliseo?” Y él respondió: “Me dijo que ciertamente usted sanará.”

15 B ut the next day Hazael took the bed covering and put it in water. Then he spread it on Ben-hadad’s face so that he died. And Hazael became king in his place. Jehoram Rules Judah

Pero al día siguiente Hazael tomó una colcha, la empapó en agua y se la puso al rey sobre la cara, y murió. Entonces Hazael reinó en su lugar. Reinados de Joram y Ocozías

16 I n the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab, king of Israel, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to rule.

En el año quinto de Joram, hijo de Acab, rey de Israel, siendo Josafat rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Joram, hijo de Josafat, rey de Judá.

17 H e was thirty-two years old when he became king. He ruled eight years in Jerusalem.

Tenía treinta y dos años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó ocho años en Jerusalén.

18 H e walked in the way of the kings of Israel, just as those of Ahab’s house had done. Ahab’s daughter became his wife. He did what was sinful in the eyes of the Lord.

Y anduvo en el camino de los reyes de Israel, tal como había hecho la casa de Acab (porque la hija de Acab era su mujer); e hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor.

19 B ut the Lord was not willing to destroy Judah, because of His servant David. The Lord had promised to give David one to rule through his sons always.

Sin embargo, el Señor no quiso destruir a Judá por amor a David Su siervo, ya que le había prometido darle una lámpara por medio de sus hijos para siempre.

20 I n his days Edom turned against the rule of Judah and chose a king of their own.

En sus días se rebeló Edom contra el dominio de Judá, y pusieron rey sobre ellos.

21 T hen Joram crossed over to Zair, with all his war-wagons. He and his war-wagon captains got up during the night and fought against the Edomites who had gathered around them. But his army ran away to their tents.

Entonces pasó Joram a Zair, y todos sus carros con él. Y se levantó de noche y atacó a los Edomitas que lo tenían cercado a él y a los jefes de los carros, pero su ejército huyó a sus tiendas.

22 S o Edom turned against the rule of Judah to this day. Libnah turned against Judah’s rule at the same time.

Y Edom se rebeló contra el dominio de Judá, hasta el día de hoy. Entonces Libna se rebeló en ese mismo tiempo.

23 T he rest of the acts of Joram and all he did, are they not written in the Book of Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

24 T hen Joram died and was buried in the city of David. His son Ahaziah became king in his place. Ahaziah Rules Judah

25 I n the twelfth year of Ahab’s son Joram the king of Israel, Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah began to rule.

En el año doce de Joram, hijo de Acab, rey de Israel, comenzó a reinar Ocozías, hijo de Joram, rey de Judá.

26 A haziah was twenty-two years old when he became king. He ruled one year in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Athaliah the granddaughter of Omri king of Israel.

Ocozías tenía veintidós años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó un año en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Atalía, nieta de Omri, rey de Israel.

27 H e walked in the way of the family of Ahab. He did what was sinful in the eyes of the Lord, like those of the family of Ahab had done, because he was a son-in-law of the family of Ahab.

El también anduvo en el camino de la casa de Acab, e hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, como había hecho la casa de Acab, porque era yerno de Acab.

28 H e went with Ahab’s son Joram to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth-gilead. And the Syrians hurt Joram.

Entonces fue con Joram, hijo de Acab, a la guerra contra Hazael, rey de Aram, en Ramot de Galaad; y los Arameos hirieron a Joram.

29 S o King Joram returned to Jezreel to be healed of the cuts the Syrians had given him at Ramah when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. Then Jehoram’s son Ahaziah king of Judah went down to Jezreel to see Joram the son of Ahab because he was sick.

Y el rey Joram regresó a Jezreel para ser curado de las heridas que los Arameos le habían hecho en Ramot, cuando peleó contra Hazael, rey de Aram. Entonces Ocozías, hijo de Joram, rey de Judá, descendió a Jezreel para visitar a Joram, hijo de Acab, porque estaba enfermo.
