1 S o you can say nothing because you are guilty when you say someone else is guilty. While you say someone is guilty, you are doing the same things he does.

Por lo cual no tienes excusa, oh hombre, quienquiera que seas tú que juzgas, pues al juzgar a otro, a ti mismo te condenas, porque tú que juzgas practicas las mismas cosas.

2 W e know that God will say those who do such things are guilty.

Sabemos que el juicio de Dios justamente cae sobre los que practican tales cosas.

3 D o you think God will punish others for doing wrong and let you keep sinning?

¿Y piensas esto, oh hombre, tú que condenas a los que practican tales cosas y haces lo mismo, que escaparás del juicio de Dios?

4 D o you forget about His loving-kindness to you? Do you forget how long He is waiting for you? You know that God is kind. He is trying to get you to be sorry for your sins and turn from them.

¿O tienes en poco las riquezas de Su bondad y tolerancia y paciencia, ignorando que la bondad de Dios te guía al arrepentimiento ?

5 B ecause you are not sorry for your sins and will not turn from them, you will be punished even more on the day of God’s anger. God will be right in saying you are guilty.

Pero por causa de tu terquedad y de tu corazón no arrepentido, estás acumulando ira para ti en el día de la ira y de la revelación del justo juicio de Dios.

6 H e will give to every man what he should get for the things he has done.

El pagara a cada uno conforme a sus obras:

7 T hose who keep on doing good and are looking for His greatness and honor will receive life that lasts forever.

a los que por la perseverancia en hacer el bien buscan gloria, honor e inmortalidad: vida eterna;

8 T hose who love only themselves and do not obey the truth, but do what is wrong, will be punished by God. His anger will be on them.

pero a los que son ambiciosos y no obedecen a la verdad, sino que obedecen a la injusticia: ira e indignación.

9 E very Jew and every person who is not a Jew who sins will suffer and have great sorrow.

Habrá tribulación y angustia para toda alma humana que hace lo malo, del Judío primeramente y también del Griego;

10 B ut God will give His greatness and honor and peace to all those who obey the truth. Both Jews and those who are not Jews will receive this.

pero gloria y honor y paz para todo el que hace lo bueno, al Judío primeramente, y también al Griego.

11 G od does not show favor to one man more than to another.

Porque en Dios no hay acepción de personas.

12 T hose who have sinned without having the Law will be lost without the Law being used. Those who have the Law and have sinned will be judged by the Law.

Pues todos los que han pecado sin la Ley, sin la Ley también perecerán; y todos los que han pecado bajo la Ley, por la Ley serán juzgados.

13 J ust to hear the Law does not make a man right with God. The man right with God is the one who obeys the Law.

Porque no son los oidores de la Ley los justos ante Dios, sino los que cumplen la Ley; ésos serán justificados.

14 T he people who are not Jews do not have the Law. When they do what the Law tells them to do, even if they do not have the Law, it shows they know what they should do.

Porque cuando los Gentiles, que no tienen la Ley, cumplen por instinto (hacen por naturaleza) los dictados de la Ley, ellos, no teniendo la Ley, son una ley para sí mismos.

15 T hey show that what the Law wants them to do is written in their hearts. Their own hearts tell them if they are guilty.

Porque muestran la obra de la Ley escrita en sus corazones, su conciencia dando testimonio, y sus pensamientos acusándolos unas veces y otras defendiéndolos,

16 T here will be a day when God will judge because He knows the secret thoughts of men. He will do this through Jesus Christ. This is part of the Good News I preach.

el día en que, según mi evangelio, Dios juzgará los secretos de los hombres mediante Cristo Jesús. La Ley y el Pueblo Judío

17 Y ou are a Jew and think you are safe because of the Law. You tell others about how you know God.

Pero si tú, que llevas el nombre de Judío y te apoyas en la Ley; que te glorías en Dios

18 Y ou know what He wants you to do. You understand how the Law works. You know right from wrong.

y conoces Su voluntad; que apruebas las cosas que son esenciales, siendo instruido por la Ley,

19 Y ou think you can lead a blind man. You think you can give light to those in darkness.

y te confías en que eres guía de los ciegos, luz de los que están en tinieblas,

20 Y ou think you can teach foolish people and children about God. You have in the Law the plan of truth and wisdom.

instructor de los necios, maestro de los faltos de madurez; que tienes en la Ley la expresión misma del conocimiento y de la verdad,

21 Y ou teach others. Why do you not teach yourselves? You tell others not to steal. Do you steal?

tú, pues, que enseñas a otro, ¿no te enseñas a ti mismo? Tú que predicas (proclamas) que no se debe robar, ¿robas ?

22 Y ou say that no one should do sex sins. Do you do sex sins? You hate false gods. Do you rob the houses where they are kept?

Tú que dices que no se debe cometer adulterio, ¿adulteras? Tú que abominas a los ídolos, ¿saqueas templos? (¿cometes sacrilegio?)

23 Y ou are proud of the Law. Do you take honor away from God when you do not obey the Law?

Tú que te jactas de la Ley, ¿violando la Ley deshonras a Dios?

24 T he Holy Writings say, “God’s name is hated by the people who are not Jews because of you.”

Porque tal como está escrito: “el nombre de Dios es blasfemado entre los gentiles por causa de ustedes.”

25 G oing through the religious act of becoming a Jew is worth something if you obey the Law. If you do not obey the Law, it is worth nothing to you.

Pues ciertamente la circuncisión es de valor si tú practicas la Ley, pero si eres transgresor de la Ley, tu circuncisión se ha vuelto incircuncisión.

26 I f a person who is not a Jew and has not gone through the act of becoming a Jew, obeys the Law, God will think of him as a Jew.

Por tanto, si el incircunciso cumple los requisitos de la Ley, ¿no se considerará su incircuncisión como circuncisión ?

27 Y ou Jews have the Law but do not obey it. You have gone through the religious act also. At the same time those who are not Jews obey the Law even if they have not gone through the religious act of becoming a Jew. In this way, these people show you are guilty.

Y si el que es físicamente incircunciso guarda la Ley, ¿no te juzgará a ti, que aunque tienes la letra de la Ley y eres circuncidado, eres transgresor de la Ley?

28 A man is not a Jew just because he goes through the religious act of becoming a Jew.

Porque no es Judío el que lo es exteriormente, ni la circuncisión es la externa, en la carne.

29 T he true Jew is one whose heart is right with God. The religious act of becoming a Jew must be done in the heart. That is the work of the Holy Spirit. The Law does not do that kind of work. The true Jew gets his thanks from God, not from men.

Pues es Judío el que lo es interiormente, y la circuncisión es la del corazón, por el Espíritu, no por la letra; la alabanza del cual no procede de los hombres, sino de Dios.
