3 I want you to know that Christ is the head of every man. The husband is the head of his wife. God is the head of Christ.

Pero quiero que sepan que la cabeza de todo hombre es Cristo (el Mesías), y la cabeza de la mujer es el hombre, y la cabeza de Cristo es Dios.

4 I f any man prays or preaches with his head covered, he does not give honor to Christ.

Todo hombre que cubre su cabeza mientras ora o profetiza, deshonra su cabeza.

5 E very woman who prays or preaches without her head covered does not respect her head. It is the same as if she had her hair cut off.

Pero toda mujer que tiene la cabeza descubierta mientras ora o profetiza, deshonra su cabeza, porque se hace una con la que está rapada.

6 I f a woman does not cover her head, she might as well cut off her hair also. If a woman is ashamed to have her hair cut off, she should cover her head.

Porque si la mujer no se cubre la cabeza, que también se corte el cabello; pero si es deshonroso para la mujer cortarse el cabello, o raparse, que se cubra.

7 M an is made like God and His shining-greatness. For this reason a man should not have his head covered when he prays or preaches, but the woman respects the man.

Pues el hombre no debe cubrirse la cabeza, ya que él es la imagen y gloria de Dios, pero la mujer es la gloria del hombre.

8 M an was not made from woman. Woman was made from man,

Porque el hombre no procede de la mujer, sino la mujer del hombre.

9 a nd man was not made for woman. Woman was made for man.

En verdad el hombre no fue creado a causa de la mujer, sino la mujer a causa del hombre.

10 F or this reason a woman should have a covering on her head. This shows she respects man. This is for the angels to see also.

Por tanto, la mujer debe tener un símbolo de autoridad sobre la cabeza, por causa de los ángeles.

11 I n God’s plan women need men and men need women.

Sin embargo, en el Señor, ni la mujer es independiente del hombre, ni el hombre independiente de la mujer.

12 W oman was made from man, but man is born of woman. God made all things.

Porque así como la mujer procede del hombre, también el hombre nace de la mujer; y todas las cosas proceden de Dios.

13 T hink this over yourselves. Does it look right for a woman to pray with no covering on her head?

Juzguen ustedes mismos: ¿es propio que la mujer ore a Dios con la cabeza descubierta?

14 H ave we not already learned that it is a shame for a man to have long hair?

¿No les enseña la misma naturaleza que si el hombre tiene el cabello largo le es deshonra,

15 B ut a woman can be proud to have long hair. Her hair is given to her for a covering.

pero que si la mujer tiene el cabello largo le es una gloria? Pues a ella el cabello le es dado por velo.

16 I f anyone wants to argue about this, my answer is that this is what we teach, and all the churches agree with me. How the Lord’s Supper Should Be Eaten

Pero si alguien parece ser contencioso, nosotros no tenemos tal costumbre, ni la tienen las iglesias de Dios. La Cena del Señor

17 W hile writing about these things, let me tell you what I think. Nothing good is coming from your meeting together.

18 F irst of all, I hear that when you meet together in the church you are divided into groups and you argue. I almost believe this is true.

19 F or there must be different groups among you. In that way, those who are right will be seen from those who are wrong.

Porque es necesario que entre ustedes haya bandos, a fin de que se manifiesten entre ustedes los que son aprobados.

20 W hen you gather together for your meetings, it is not to eat the Lord’s supper.

Por tanto, cuando se reúnen, esto ya no es comer la Cena del Señor.

21 E ach one is in a hurry to eat his own food first. He does not wait for others. In this way, one does not get enough food and drink. Others get too much and get drunk.

Porque al comer, cada uno toma primero su propia cena, y uno pasa hambre y otro se embriaga.

22 Y ou have your own homes to eat and drink in. Or do you hate the church of God and shame those who are poor? What am I to say to you? Am I to say you are right? No! I cannot say you are right in this. The Meaning of the Lord’s Supper

¿Qué? ¿No tienen casas para comer y beber? ¿O desprecian la iglesia de Dios y avergüenzan a los que nada tienen ? ¿Qué les diré? ¿Los alabaré? En esto no los alabaré.

23 I have given you the teaching I received from the Lord. The night Jesus was handed over to the soldiers, He took bread.

Porque yo recibí del Señor lo mismo que les he enseñado: que el Señor Jesús, la noche en que fue entregado, tomó pan,

24 W hen He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take this bread and eat it. This is My body which is broken for you. Do this to remember Me.”

y después de dar gracias, lo partió y dijo: “Esto es Mi cuerpo que es para ustedes; hagan esto en memoria de Mí.”

25 I n the same way after supper, He took the cup. He said, “This cup is the New Way of Worship made between God and you by My blood. Whenever you drink it, do it to remember Me.”

De la misma manera tomó también la copa después de haber cenado, diciendo: “Esta copa es el nuevo pacto en Mi sangre; hagan esto cuantas veces la beban en memoria de Mí.”

26 E very time you eat this bread and drink from this cup you are telling of the Lord’s death until He comes again.

Porque todas las veces que coman este pan y beban esta copa, proclaman la muerte del Señor hasta que El venga.

27 A nyone who eats the bread or drinks from the cup, if his spirit is not right with the Lord, will be guilty of sinning against the body and the blood of the Lord.

De manera que el que coma el pan o beba la copa del Señor indignamente, será culpable del cuerpo y de la sangre del Señor.

28 T his is why a man should look into his own heart and life before eating the bread and drinking from the cup.

Por tanto, examínese cada uno a sí mismo, y entonces coma del pan y beba de la copa.

29 A nyone who eats the bread and drinks from the cup, if his spirit is not right with the Lord, will be guilty as he eats and drinks. He does not understand the meaning of the Lord’s body.

Porque el que come y bebe sin discernir correctamente el cuerpo del Señor, come y bebe juicio para sí.

30 T his is why some of you are sick and weak, and some have died.

Por esta razón hay muchos débiles y enfermos entre ustedes, y muchos duermen (han muerto).

31 B ut if we would look into our own lives and see if we are guilty, then God would not have to say we are guilty.

Pero si nos juzgáramos a nosotros mismos, no seríamos juzgados.

32 W hen we are guilty, we are punished by the Lord so we will not be told we are guilty with the rest of the world.

Pero cuando somos juzgados, el Señor nos disciplina para que no seamos condenados con el mundo.

33 C hristian brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for each other.

Así que, hermanos míos, cuando se reúnan para comer, espérense unos a otros.

34 I f anyone is hungry, he should eat at home. Then he will not be guilty as you meet together. I will talk about the other things when I come.

Si alguien tiene hambre, coma en su casa, para que no se reúnan para juicio. Los demás asuntos los arreglaré cuando vaya.
