1 N ow the word of the Lord came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,

Y la palabra del Señor vino a Jehú, hijo de Hananí, contra Baasa:

2 “ I took you from the dust and gave you honor. I made you leader over My people Israel. But you have walked in the way of Jeroboam and have made My people Israel sin. You have made Me angry with their sins.

“Yo te levanté del polvo y te hice príncipe sobre Mi pueblo Israel, y has andado en el camino de Jeroboam, y has hecho pecar a Mi pueblo Israel provocándome a ira con sus pecados.

3 S o I will destroy Baasha and his house. I will make your house like the family of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

Por tanto, consumiré a Baasa y a su casa, y haré su casa como la casa de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat.

4 T he dogs will eat anyone of Baasha’s family who dies in the city. And the birds of the air will eat anyone of his who dies in the field.”

El que de Baasa muera en la ciudad, se lo comerán los perros, y el que de él muera en el campo, se lo comerán las aves del cielo.”

Los demás hechos de Baasa, lo que hizo y su poderío, ¿no están escritos en el Libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel ?

6 B aasha died and was buried in Tirzah. His son Elah became king in his place.

Y durmió Baasa con sus padres y fue sepultado en Tirsa; y su hijo Ela reinó en su lugar.

7 T he word of the Lord came against Baasha and his house through the man who spoke for God, Jehu the son of Hanani because Baasha had done what was sinful in the eyes of the Lord. He made the Lord angry with the work of his hands, in being like the family of Jeroboam, and because he destroyed it. Elah Rules Israel

También, la palabra del Señor vino por medio del profeta Jehú, hijo de Hananí, contra Baasa y su casa, no sólo por todo el mal que hizo ante los ojos del Señor, provocándolo a ira con la obra de sus manos, siendo semejante a la casa de Jeroboam, sino también por haber destruido a ésta. Reinados de Ela, Zimri y Omri

8 I n the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha became king of Israel at Tirzah. He ruled for two years.

En el año veintiséis de Asa, rey de Judá, Ela, hijo de Baasa, comenzó a reinar sobre Israel en Tirsa y reinó dos años.

9 H is servant Zimri, captain of half his war-wagons, made plans against him. Elah was at Tirzah drinking himself drunk in the family of Arza. Arza was the head of the house at Tirzah.

Y su siervo Zimri, jefe de la mitad de sus carros, conspiró contra él. Y Ela estaba en Tirsa bebiendo hasta emborracharse en la casa de Arsa, que era mayordomo de la casa en Tirsa.

10 Z imri went in and hit him and killed him, in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah. And Zimri became king in his place.

Entonces Zimri entró, lo hirió, y le dio muerte en el año veintisiete de Asa, rey de Judá, y reinó en su lugar.

11 W hen he became king, as soon as he sat on his throne, he killed all those of Baasha’s house. He did not leave alive one male, of his brothers or of his friends.

Y sucedió que cuando comenzó a reinar, tan pronto como se sentó en su trono, mató a toda la casa de Baasa; no dejó ni un solo varón, ni de sus parientes ni de sus amigos.

12 S o Zimri destroyed the whole family of Baasha, as was spoken against Baasha by the word of the Lord through Jehu the man who spoke for God.

Así Zimri destruyó toda la casa de Baasa, conforme a la palabra que el Señor había hablado contra Baasa por medio del profeta Jehú,

13 I t happened because of all the sins of Baasha and his son Elah. They sinned and they made Israel sin. They made the Lord God of Israel angry with their false gods.

por todos los pecados de Baasa y por los pecados de su hijo Ela, con los cuales pecaron y con los que hicieron pecar a Israel, provocando a ira con sus ídolos al Señor, Dios de Israel.

Los demás hechos de Ela y todo lo que hizo, ¿no están escritos en el Libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel ?

15 I n the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri ruled seven days at Tirzah. Now the people were gathered against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.

En el año veintisiete de Asa, rey de Judá, Zimri reinó siete días en Tirsa. Y el pueblo estaba acampado contra Gibetón, que pertenecía a los Filisteos.

16 T he people who were gathered heard it said, “Zimri has made plans and has killed the king.” So all Israel made Omri, the captain of the army, the king of Israel that day among the tents.

El pueblo que estaba acampado oyó decir: “Zimri ha conspirado y también ha matado al rey.” Entonces, ese mismo día en el campamento, todo Israel hizo a Omri, jefe del ejército, rey sobre Israel.

17 T hen Omri went with all Israel up from Gibbethon, and they gathered in battle around Tirzah.

Entonces Omri subió desde Gibetón, y todo Israel con él, y sitiaron a Tirsa.

18 W hen Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went into an inside room of the king’s house. And he burned the king’s house over him with fire, and died.

Cuando Zimri vio que la ciudad era tomada, entró en la ciudadela de la casa del rey, prendió fuego a la casa del rey y murió,

19 H e died because of his sins. He did what was sinful in the eyes of the Lord, walking in the way of Jeroboam. And in his sin, he made Israel sin.

a causa de los pecados que había cometido, haciendo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, andando en el camino de Jeroboam, y por el pecado que cometió, haciendo pecar a Israel.

Los demás hechos de Zimri, y la conspiración que llevó a cabo, ¿no están escritos en el Libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel ?

21 T hen the people of Israel were divided into two parts. Half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king. The other half followed Omri.

Entonces el pueblo de Israel se dividió en dos partes: la mitad del pueblo siguió a Tibni, hijo de Ginat, para hacerlo rey; la otra mitad siguió a Omri.

22 B ut the people who followed Omri won over the people who followed Tibni the son of Ginath. Tibni died and Omri became king.

Pero el pueblo que siguió a Omri prevaleció sobre el pueblo que siguió a Tibni, hijo de Ginat. Y Tibni murió, y Omri comenzó a reinar.

23 I n the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri became the king of Israel. He ruled for twelve years. He ruled six years at Tirzah.

En el año treinta y uno de Asa, rey de Judá, Omri comenzó a reinar sobre Israel, y reinó doce años; seis años reinó en Tirsa.

24 A nd he bought the hill of Samaria from Shemer for silver weighing as much as two men. He built on the hill, and gave the city he built the name of Samaria, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill.

Y compró a Semer el Monte Samaria por 68 kilos de plata; edificó sobre el monte, y a la ciudad que edificó puso por nombre Samaria, del nombre de Semer, dueño del monte.

25 O mri did what was sinful in the eyes of the Lord. He acted worse than all who were before him.

Omri hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, y obró más perversamente que todos los que fueron antes que él;

26 F or he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat. And in his sin he made Israel sin. They made the Lord God of Israel angry with their false gods.

pues anduvo en todos los caminos de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, y en los pecados con que hizo pecar a Israel, provocando al Señor, Dios de Israel, con sus ídolos.

27 N ow the rest of the acts of Omri and the strength that he showed, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

Los demás hechos que Omri hizo y el poderío que mostró ¿no están escritos en el Libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel ?

28 O mri died and was buried in Samaria. His son Ahab became king in his place. Ahab Rules Israel

Y durmió Omri con sus padres y fue sepultado en Samaria; y su hijo Acab reinó en su lugar. Reinado de Acab

29 O mri’s son Ahab became king of Israel in the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah. He ruled over Israel in Samaria for twenty-two years.

Acab, hijo de Omri, comenzó a reinar sobre Israel en el año treinta y ocho de Asa, rey de Judá, y Acab, hijo de Omri, reinó veintidós años sobre Israel en Samaria.

30 A hab the son of Omri did what was sinful in the eyes of the Lord more than all who were before him.

Y Acab, hijo de Omri, hizo lo malo a los ojos del Señor más que todos los que fueron antes que él.

31 H e thought it was a small thing to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat. He married Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians. Then he went to serve the false god Baal and worshiped him.

Como si fuera poco el andar en los pecados de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, tomó por mujer a Jezabel, hija de Et Baal, rey de los Sidonios, y fue a servir a Baal y lo adoró.

32 H e built an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he built in Samaria.

Edificó un altar a Baal en la casa de Baal que edificó en Samaria.

33 A hab made an object of wood to look like the false goddess Asherah. So Ahab did more to make the Lord God of Israel angry than all the kings of Israel before him.

Acab hizo también una Asera (deidad femenina). Así Acab hizo más para provocar al Señor, Dios de Israel, que todos los reyes de Israel que fueron antes que él.

34 I n his days Hiel the Bethelite built Jericho. His first-born son Abiram died as he began to build the city. His youngest son Segub died as he put up its gates. It happened as it was told by the word of the Lord spoken by Joshua the son of Nun.

En tiempos de Acab, Hiel de Betel (Casa de Dios) reedificó Jericó. A costa de la vida de Abiram su primogénito puso sus cimientos, y a costa de la vida de su hijo menor Segub levantó sus puertas, conforme a la palabra que el Señor había hablado por medio de Josué, hijo de Nun.
