1 T his letter is from Paul. I am a missionary for Jesus Christ. God wanted me to work for Him. This letter is to those who belong to Christ in the city of Ephesus and to you who are faithful followers of Christ Jesus.

Pablo, apóstol de Cristo Jesús por (mediante) la voluntad de Dios: A los santos que están en Efeso y que son fieles en Cristo Jesús:

2 M ay you have loving-favor and peace from God our Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ.

Gracia y paz a ustedes de parte de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo. Beneficios de la Redención

3 L et us honor and thank the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He has already given us a taste of what heaven is like.

Bendito sea el Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que nos ha bendecido con toda bendición espiritual en los lugares celestiales en Cristo.

4 E ven before the world was made, God chose us for Himself because of His love. He planned that we should be holy and without blame as He sees us.

Porque Dios nos escogió en Cristo antes de la fundación del mundo, para que fuéramos santos y sin mancha delante de El. En amor

5 G od already planned to have us as His own children. This was done by Jesus Christ. In His plan God wanted this done.

nos predestinó para adopción como hijos para sí mediante Jesucristo, conforme a la buena intención de Su voluntad,

6 W e thank God for His loving-favor to us. He gave this loving-favor to us through His much-loved Son.

para alabanza de la gloria de Su gracia que gratuitamente ha impartido sobre nosotros en el Amado.

7 B ecause of the blood of Christ, we are bought and made free from the punishment of sin. And because of His blood, our sins are forgiven. His loving-favor to us is so rich.

En El tenemos redención mediante Su sangre, el perdón de nuestros pecados según las riquezas de Su gracia

8 H e was so willing to give all of this to us. He did this with wisdom and understanding.

que ha hecho abundar para con nosotros. En toda sabiduría y discernimiento

9 G od told us the secret of what He wanted to do. It is this: In loving thought He planned long ago to send Christ into the world.

nos dio a conocer el misterio de Su voluntad, según la buena intención que se propuso en Cristo,

10 T he plan was for Christ to gather us all together at the right time. If we are in heaven or still on earth, He will bring us together and will be head over all.

con miras a una buena administración en el cumplimiento de los tiempos, es decir, de reunir todas las cosas en Cristo, tanto las que están en los cielos, como las que están en la tierra.

11 W e were already chosen to be God’s own children by Christ. This was done just like the plan He had.

También en El hemos obtenido herencia, habiendo sido predestinados según el propósito de Aquél que obra todas las cosas conforme al consejo de Su voluntad,

12 W e who were the first to put our trust in Christ should thank Him for His greatness.

a fin de que nosotros, que fuimos los primeros en esperar en Cristo (el Mesías), seamos para alabanza de Su gloria.

13 T he truth is the Good News. When you heard the truth, you put your trust in Christ. Then God marked you by giving you His Holy Spirit as a promise.

En El también ustedes, después de escuchar el mensaje de la verdad, el evangelio de su salvación, y habiendo creído, fueron sellados en El con el Espíritu Santo de la promesa,

14 T he Holy Spirit was given to us as a promise that we will receive everything God has for us. God’s Spirit will be with us until God finishes His work of making us complete. God does this to show His shining-greatness. Paul’s Prayer for the Christians in Ephesus

que nos es dado como garantía de nuestra herencia, con miras a la redención de la posesión adquirida de Dios, para alabanza de Su gloria. Pablo Ora por los Efesios

15 I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all Christians.

Por esta razón también yo, habiendo oído de la fe en el Señor Jesús que hay entre ustedes, y de su amor por todos los santos,

16 S ince then, I always give thanks for you and pray for you.

no ceso de dar gracias por ustedes, mencionándolos en mis oraciones,

17 I pray that the great God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ may give you the wisdom of His Spirit. Then you will be able to understand the secrets about Him as you know Him better.

pido que el Dios de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, el Padre de gloria, les dé espíritu de sabiduría y de revelación en un mejor (verdadero) conocimiento de El.

18 I pray that your hearts will be able to understand. I pray that you will know about the hope given by God’s call. I pray that you will see how great the things are that He has promised to those who belong to Him.

Mi oración es que los ojos de su corazón les sean iluminados, para que sepan cuál es la esperanza de Su llamamiento, cuáles son las riquezas de la gloria de Su herencia en los santos,

19 I pray that you will know how great His power is for those who have put their trust in Him.

y cuál es la extraordinaria grandeza de Su poder para con nosotros los que creemos, conforme a la eficacia (la energía) de la fuerza de Su poder.

20 I t is the same power that raised Christ from the dead. This same power put Christ at God’s right side in heaven.

Ese poder obró en Cristo cuando Lo resucitó de entre los muertos y Lo sentó a Su diestra en los lugares celestiales,

21 T his place was given to Christ. It is much greater than any king or leader can have. No one else can have this place of honor and power. No one in this world or in the world to come can have such honor and power.

muy por encima de todo principado, autoridad, poder, dominio y de todo nombre que se nombra, no sólo en este siglo sino también en el venidero.

22 G od has put all things under Christ’s power and has made Him to be the head leader over all things of the church.

Y todo lo sometió bajo Sus pies, y a El lo dio por cabeza sobre todas las cosas a la iglesia,

23 T he church is the body of Christ. It is filled by Him Who fills all things everywhere with Himself.

la cual es Su cuerpo, la plenitud de Aquél que lo llena todo en todo.
