1 P ablo, apóstol de Cristo Jesús por (mediante) la voluntad de Dios: A los santos que están en Efeso y que son fieles en Cristo Jesús:

This letter is from Paul. I am a missionary for Jesus Christ. God wanted me to work for Him. This letter is to those who belong to Christ in the city of Ephesus and to you who are faithful followers of Christ Jesus.

2 G racia y paz a ustedes de parte de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo. Beneficios de la Redención

May you have loving-favor and peace from God our Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ.

3 B endito sea el Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que nos ha bendecido con toda bendición espiritual en los lugares celestiales en Cristo.

Let us honor and thank the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He has already given us a taste of what heaven is like.

4 P orque Dios nos escogió en Cristo antes de la fundación del mundo, para que fuéramos santos y sin mancha delante de El. En amor

Even before the world was made, God chose us for Himself because of His love. He planned that we should be holy and without blame as He sees us.

5 n os predestinó para adopción como hijos para sí mediante Jesucristo, conforme a la buena intención de Su voluntad,

God already planned to have us as His own children. This was done by Jesus Christ. In His plan God wanted this done.

6 p ara alabanza de la gloria de Su gracia que gratuitamente ha impartido sobre nosotros en el Amado.

We thank God for His loving-favor to us. He gave this loving-favor to us through His much-loved Son.

7 E n El tenemos redención mediante Su sangre, el perdón de nuestros pecados según las riquezas de Su gracia

Because of the blood of Christ, we are bought and made free from the punishment of sin. And because of His blood, our sins are forgiven. His loving-favor to us is so rich.

8 q ue ha hecho abundar para con nosotros. En toda sabiduría y discernimiento

He was so willing to give all of this to us. He did this with wisdom and understanding.

9 n os dio a conocer el misterio de Su voluntad, según la buena intención que se propuso en Cristo,

God told us the secret of what He wanted to do. It is this: In loving thought He planned long ago to send Christ into the world.

10 c on miras a una buena administración en el cumplimiento de los tiempos, es decir, de reunir todas las cosas en Cristo, tanto las que están en los cielos, como las que están en la tierra.

The plan was for Christ to gather us all together at the right time. If we are in heaven or still on earth, He will bring us together and will be head over all.

11 T ambién en El hemos obtenido herencia, habiendo sido predestinados según el propósito de Aquél que obra todas las cosas conforme al consejo de Su voluntad,

We were already chosen to be God’s own children by Christ. This was done just like the plan He had.

12 a fin de que nosotros, que fuimos los primeros en esperar en Cristo (el Mesías), seamos para alabanza de Su gloria.

We who were the first to put our trust in Christ should thank Him for His greatness.

13 E n El también ustedes, después de escuchar el mensaje de la verdad, el evangelio de su salvación, y habiendo creído, fueron sellados en El con el Espíritu Santo de la promesa,

The truth is the Good News. When you heard the truth, you put your trust in Christ. Then God marked you by giving you His Holy Spirit as a promise.

14 q ue nos es dado como garantía de nuestra herencia, con miras a la redención de la posesión adquirida de Dios, para alabanza de Su gloria. Pablo Ora por los Efesios

The Holy Spirit was given to us as a promise that we will receive everything God has for us. God’s Spirit will be with us until God finishes His work of making us complete. God does this to show His shining-greatness. Paul’s Prayer for the Christians in Ephesus

15 P or esta razón también yo, habiendo oído de la fe en el Señor Jesús que hay entre ustedes, y de su amor por todos los santos,

I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all Christians.

16 n o ceso de dar gracias por ustedes, mencionándolos en mis oraciones,

Since then, I always give thanks for you and pray for you.

17 p ido que el Dios de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, el Padre de gloria, les dé espíritu de sabiduría y de revelación en un mejor (verdadero) conocimiento de El.

I pray that the great God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ may give you the wisdom of His Spirit. Then you will be able to understand the secrets about Him as you know Him better.

18 M i oración es que los ojos de su corazón les sean iluminados, para que sepan cuál es la esperanza de Su llamamiento, cuáles son las riquezas de la gloria de Su herencia en los santos,

I pray that your hearts will be able to understand. I pray that you will know about the hope given by God’s call. I pray that you will see how great the things are that He has promised to those who belong to Him.

19 y cuál es la extraordinaria grandeza de Su poder para con nosotros los que creemos, conforme a la eficacia (la energía) de la fuerza de Su poder.

I pray that you will know how great His power is for those who have put their trust in Him.

20 E se poder obró en Cristo cuando Lo resucitó de entre los muertos y Lo sentó a Su diestra en los lugares celestiales,

It is the same power that raised Christ from the dead. This same power put Christ at God’s right side in heaven.

21 m uy por encima de todo principado, autoridad, poder, dominio y de todo nombre que se nombra, no sólo en este siglo sino también en el venidero.

This place was given to Christ. It is much greater than any king or leader can have. No one else can have this place of honor and power. No one in this world or in the world to come can have such honor and power.

22 Y todo lo sometió bajo Sus pies, y a El lo dio por cabeza sobre todas las cosas a la iglesia,

God has put all things under Christ’s power and has made Him to be the head leader over all things of the church.

23 l a cual es Su cuerpo, la plenitud de Aquél que lo llena todo en todo.

The church is the body of Christ. It is filled by Him Who fills all things everywhere with Himself.
