1 E ntonces el Señor habló a Moisés:

The Lord said to Moses,

2 “ Di a Aarón y a sus hijos, y a todos los Israelitas: ‘Esto es lo que el Señor ha ordenado:

“Say to Aaron and his sons and to all the people of Israel, ‘This is what the Lord has told us to do.

3 C ualquier hombre de la casa de Israel que degüelle un buey, un cordero o una cabra en el campamento, o el que lo degüelle fuera del campamento,

If any man of the house of Israel kills a bull, lamb or goat, among the tents or away from the tents,

4 s in llevarlo a la puerta de la tienda de reunión para presentar lo como una ofrenda al Señor, delante del tabernáculo del Señor, ese hombre será culpable de la sangre. Ha derramado sangre y ese hombre será exterminado de entre su pueblo.

and has not brought it to the door of the meeting tent to give it to the Lord, he will be guilty for that blood, and will not be among God’s people.

5 E sto es para que los Israelitas traigan los sacrificios que sacrificaban en campo abierto, los traigan al Señor a la puerta de la tienda de reunión, al sacerdote, y los sacrifiquen como sacrificios de las ofrendas de paz al Señor.

The reason is so that the people of Israel may bring their gifts which were killed in the open field to the Lord, to the religious leader at the door of the meeting tent. Then they can be given as peace gifts to the Lord.

6 Y el sacerdote rociará la sangre sobre el altar del Señor a la puerta de la tienda de reunión, y quemará la grasa como aroma agradable al Señor.

The religious leader will put the blood on the altar of the Lord at the door of the meeting tent. And he will burn the fat for a pleasing smell to the Lord.

7 Y ya no sacrificarán sus sacrificios a los demonios (en forma de machos cabríos) con los cuales se prostituyen. Esto les será estatuto perpetuo por todas sus generaciones.”’

So they will no longer give their gifts to the goat-like gods to whom they sell themselves. This will be a Law to them for all their people forever.’

8 “ Entonces les dirás: ‘Cualquier hombre de la casa de Israel, o de los extranjeros que residen entre ellos, que ofrezca holocausto o sacrificio,

“Then say to them, ‘Any man of the house of Israel, or visiting from another land, who gives a burnt gift or other gift,

9 y no lo traiga a la entrada de la tienda de reunión para ofrecerlo al Señor, ese hombre también será exterminado de su pueblo. Ley Acerca de la Sangre

and does not bring it to the door of the meeting tent to give it to the Lord, will be cut off from his people.

10 S i algún hombre de la casa de Israel, o de los extranjeros que residen entre ellos, come sangre, Yo pondré Mi rostro contra esa persona que coma sangre, y la exterminaré de entre su pueblo.

‘If any man of the house of Israel, or visiting from another land, eats any blood, I will turn against that person who eats blood, and he will not be among God’s people.

11 P orque la vida de la carne está en la sangre, y Yo se la he dado a ustedes sobre el altar para hacer expiación por sus almas. Porque es la sangre, por razón de la vida, la que hace expiación.’

For the life of the flesh is in the blood. I have given it to you on the altar to make your souls free from sin. For the blood makes you free from sin because of the life in it.’

12 P or tanto dije a los Israelitas: ‘Ninguna persona entre ustedes comerá sangre; tampoco comerá sangre ningún extranjero que reside entre ustedes.’

So I have said to the people of Israel, ‘None of you should eat blood. And the man who visits you from another land should not eat blood.’

13 Y cuando algún hombre de los Israelitas o de los extranjeros que residen entre ellos, que al cazar capture un animal o un ave que sea permitido comer, derramará su sangre y la cubrirá con tierra.

If any man from the people of Israel, or from other people living among them, catches an animal or bird which may be eaten, he should pour out its blood and cover it with dust.

14 “ Porque la vida de toda carne es su sangre. Por tanto, dije a los Israelitas: ‘No comerán la sangre de ninguna carne, porque la vida de toda carne es su sangre; cualquiera que la coma será exterminado.’

“For blood is the life of every living thing. So I said to the people of Israel, ‘Do not eat the blood of any living thing. For the life of every living thing is its blood. Whoever eats it will be cut off.’

15 Y cuando alguna persona, sea nativo o extranjero, coma de un animal muerto, o que haya sido despedazado por fieras, lavará sus vestidos y se bañará en agua, y quedará inmundo hasta el atardecer; entonces quedará limpio.

Every person, both living in the land or one who has come from another land, who eats an animal that dies or is killed by wild animals, must wash his clothes and wash himself in water. He will be unclean until evening. Then he will be clean.

16 P ero si no los lava o no baña su cuerpo, llevará su culpa.”

But if he does not wash them or wash his body, he will suffer for his own sin.”
