1 Y el Señor le dijo a Moisés:

The Lord said to Moses,

2 “ Manda a los Israelitas que echen del campamento a todo leproso, a todo el que padece de flujo y a todo el que es inmundo por causa de un muerto.

“Tell the people of Israel to send away from the tents every person with a bad skin disease, every one with a flow that is unclean, and every one who is unclean because of a dead person.

3 U stedes echarán tanto a hombres como a mujeres. Los echarán fuera del campamento para que no contaminen su campamento, donde Yo habito en medio de ellos.”

Send away both male and female. Send them away from the tents so they will not make the place sinful where I live among them.”

4 Y así lo hicieron los Israelitas, y los echaron fuera del campamento. Tal como el Señor había dicho a Moisés, así lo hicieron los Israelitas. Ley sobre la Restitución

The people of Israel did so. They sent them away from the tents. The people of Israel did just as the Lord had said to Moses. Paying Back for Wrongs Done

5 E ntonces el Señor dijo a Moisés:

Then the Lord said to Moses,

6 “ Habla a los Israelitas y diles: ‘El hombre o la mujer que cometa cualquiera de los pecados de la humanidad, actuando pérfidamente contra el Señor, esa persona es culpable;

“Say to the people of Israel, ‘When a man or woman sins the way that man sins by not acting in faith toward the Lord, and that person is guilty,

7 e ntonces confesará los pecados que ha cometido, y hará completa restitución por el daño causado, añadirá un quinto y lo dará al que él perjudicó.

then he must tell about the sins he has done. He must pay in full for his wrong-doing, and add one-fifth part to it, and give it to the one he has sinned against.

8 P ero si la persona no tiene pariente a quien se le haga la restitución por el daño, la restitución hecha por el daño debe ir al Señor, para el sacerdote, además del carnero de expiación, con el cual se hace expiación por él.

But if the man has no brother to whom pay for the wrong can be made, then it must go to the Lord for the religious leader. He must also give a ram to pay for his sins. And his sins will be forgiven.

9 T ambién toda ofrenda correspondiente a todas las cosas consagradas de los Israelitas que ofrecen al sacerdote, serán suyas.

Every gift of all the holy things of the Israelites which they bring to the religious leader will become his.

10 L as cosas consagradas de toda persona serán del sacerdote; lo que una persona dé al sacerdote será de él.’” La ley sobre los Celos

So every man’s holy gifts will be his. Whatever any man gives to the religious leader will be his.’” Wives Who Are Not Faithful

11 E l Señor dijo además a Moisés:

The Lord said to Moses,

12 “ Habla a los Israelitas, y diles: ‘Si la mujer de alguien se desvía y le es infiel,

“Say to the people of Israel, ‘If a man’s wife turns away and is not faithful to him,

13 t eniendo relaciones carnales con otro sin que su marido se dé cuenta, ni sea descubierta, aunque ella se haya contaminado y no haya testigo contra ella, ni haya sido sorprendida en el acto mismo,

and another man has sex with her and it is hidden from her husband’s eyes, even if it is hidden, she will be unclean. And even if no one speaks against her, because she has not been caught in the act,

14 y un espíritu de celo viene sobre él y tiene celos de su mujer, habiéndose ella contaminado, o si viene un espíritu de celos sobre él y tiene celos de su mujer, no habiéndose ella contaminado,

but a spirit of jealousy comes over her husband, he will be jealous of his wife when she has made herself unclean. Or if he becomes jealous of his wife when she has done nothing to make herself unclean,

15 e l hombre llevará su mujer al sacerdote y llevará como ofrenda por ella 2. 2 litros de harina de cebada. No derramará aceite sobre la ofrenda, ni pondrá sobre ella incienso, porque es una ofrenda de cereal, de celos, una ofrenda memorial de cereal, un recordatorio de iniquidad.

then the man must bring his wife to the religious leader. He must bring one-tenth part of a basket of barley as the gift needed for her. He must not pour oil on it. He must not put special perfume on it. For it is a grain gift of jealousy. It is a grain gift to make the sin remembered.

16 E l sacerdote hará que ella se acerque y la pondrá delante del Señor,

‘Then the religious leader will bring her near and have her stand before the Lord.

17 y el sacerdote tomará agua santa en una vasija de barro; tomará del polvo que está sobre el piso del tabernáculo (de la morada), y lo pondrá en el agua.

The religious leader will take holy water in a clay pot. He will take some of the dust on the floor of the meeting tent and put it into the water.

18 L uego el sacerdote hará que la mujer esté delante del Señor y descubrirá la cabeza de la mujer, y pondrá en sus manos la ofrenda memorial de cereal, que es la ofrenda de celos, y en la mano del sacerdote estará el agua de amargura que trae maldición.

Then the religious leader will have the woman stand before the Lord and let the hair of the woman’s head hang loose. He will put the grain gift of remembering into her hands. It is the grain gift of jealousy. In the religious leader’s hand will be the bitter water that can bring a curse to the woman.

19 E ntonces el sacerdote hará que ella pronuncie juramento, y dirá a la mujer: “Si ningún hombre se ha acostado contigo, y si no te has desviado a la inmundicia, estando sujeta a tu marido, sé inmune a esta agua de amargura que trae maldición;

Then the religious leader will have her make a promise. He will say to the woman, “If no man has lain with you and if you have not turned away into sin, while under the power of your husband, this bitter water that brings punishment will not hurt you.

20 p ero si te has desviado, estando sujeta a tu marido, y te has corrompido, y otro hombre que no es tu marido se ha llegado a ti,”

If you have turned away, while under the power of your husband, and have made yourself unclean by having another man who is not your husband,”

21 ( entonces el sacerdote hará que la mujer jure con el juramento de maldición, y el sacerdote dirá a la mujer): “El Señor te haga maldición y juramento entre tu pueblo, haciendo el Señor que tu muslo se enjute y tu vientre se hinche;

then the religious leader will have the woman make a promise so she will be punished if she has sinned. He will say to the woman, “May the Lord make you a curse among your people. May the Lord make your leg waste away and your stomach grow bigger.

22 y esta agua que trae maldición entrará en tus entrañas, y hará que tu vientre se hinche y tu muslo se enjute.” Y la mujer dirá: “Amén, amén.”

This water that brings a curse will go into your stomach and make it grow bigger and your leg to waste away.” And the woman will say, “Let it be so. Let it be so.”

23 ‘ Entonces el sacerdote escribirá estas maldiciones en un rollo, y las lavará en el agua de amargura.

‘Then the religious leader will write these curses in a book. And he will wash them off into the bitter water.

24 D espués hará que la mujer beba el agua de amargura que trae maldición, para que el agua que trae maldición entre a ella para causar amargura.

He will make the woman drink the bitter water that brings a curse. The water that brings a curse will go into her and give her pain.

25 Y el sacerdote tomará la ofrenda de cereal de los celos de la mano de la mujer, y mecerá la ofrenda de cereal delante del Señor y la llevará al altar;

The religious leader will take the grain gift of jealousy from the woman’s hand. He will wave the grain gift before the Lord and bring it to the altar.

26 e l sacerdote tomará un puñado de la ofrenda de cereal como su ofrenda memorial y la quemará en el altar, y después hará que la mujer beba el agua.

The religious leader will fill his hand with the grain gift, as the part to be remembered. And he will burn it on the altar. Then he will make the woman drink the water.

27 C uando le haya hecho beber el agua, sucederá que si ella se ha contaminado y ha sido infiel a su marido, el agua que trae maldición entrará en ella para producir amargura, y su vientre se hinchará, su muslo se enjutará y la mujer vendrá a ser una maldición en medio de su pueblo.

If she has not been faithful to her husband, the water that brings a curse will go into her and give her pain. Her stomach will get larger and her leg will become as dead. A curse will come upon the woman among her people.

28 P ero si la mujer no se ha contaminado y es limpia, quedará libre y concebirá hijos.

But if the woman has not sinned and is clean, she will be free and able to have children.

29 E sta es la ley de los celos: Cuando una mujer que esté sujeta a su marido, se desvíe y se contamine,

‘This is the law of jealousy. If a wife who is under the power of her husband turns away and makes herself unclean,

30 o cuando un espíritu de celos venga sobre alguien y esté celoso de su mujer, entonces hará que la mujer se presente delante del Señor, y el sacerdote le aplicará a ella toda esta ley.

and a spirit of jealousy comes upon a man, making him jealous of his wife, then he must make the woman stand before the Lord. And the religious leader will do to her all the rules of this Law.

31 A demás, el marido quedará libre de culpa, pero la mujer llevará su culpa.’”

The husband will be free from guilt. But the woman will carry her guilt.’”
