1 E l primer día de la semana María Magdalena fue temprano al sepulcro, cuando todavía estaba oscuro, y vio que la piedra ya había sido quitada del sepulcro.
It was the first day of the week. Mary Magdalene came to the grave early in the morning while it was still dark. She saw that the stone had been pushed away from the grave.
2 E ntonces corrió y fue adonde estaban Simón Pedro y el otro discípulo a quien Jesús amaba, y les dijo: “Se han llevado al Señor del sepulcro, y no sabemos dónde Lo han puesto.”
She ran to Simon Peter and the other follower whom Jesus loved. She said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the grave. We do not know where they have put Him.”
3 S alieron, pues, Pedro y el otro discípulo, y fueron hacia el sepulcro.
Then Peter and the other follower went to the grave.
4 L os dos corrían juntos, pero el otro discípulo corrió más aprisa que Pedro, y llegó primero al sepulcro;
They ran but the other follower ran faster than Peter and came to the grave first.
5 e inclinándose para mirar adentro, vio las envolturas de lino puestas allí, pero no entró.
He got down and looked in and saw the linen cloths but did not go in.
6 E ntonces llegó también Simón Pedro tras él, entró al sepulcro, y vio las envolturas de lino puestas allí,
Then Simon Peter came and went into the grave. He saw the linen cloths lying there.
7 y el sudario que había estado sobre la cabeza de Jesús, no puesto con las envolturas de lino, sino enrollado en un lugar aparte.
The white cloth that had been around the head of Jesus was not lying with the other linen cloths. It was rolled up and lying apart by itself.
8 T ambién entró el otro discípulo, el que había llegado primero al sepulcro, y vio y creyó.
Then the other follower, who had come first, went in also. He saw and believed.
9 P orque todavía no habían entendido la Escritura de que Jesús debía resucitar de entre los muertos.
They still did not understand what the Holy Writings meant when they said that He must rise again from the dead.
10 L os discípulos entonces se fueron de nuevo a sus casas. Aparición de Jesús a María Magdalena
Then the followers went back again to their homes.
11 P ero María estaba fuera, llorando junto al sepulcro; y mientras lloraba, se inclinó y miró dentro del sepulcro;
Mary stood outside the grave crying. As she cried, she got down and looked inside the grave.
12 y vio dos ángeles vestidos de blanco, sentados donde había estado el cuerpo de Jesús, uno a la cabecera y otro a los pies.
She saw two angels dressed in white clothes. They were sitting where the body of Jesus had lain. One angel was where His head had lain and one angel was where His feet had lain.
13 “ Mujer, ¿por qué lloras ?” le preguntaron. “Porque se han llevado a mi Señor, y no sé dónde Lo han puesto,” les contestó ella.
They said to her, “Woman, why are you crying?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord. I do not know where they have put Him.”
14 A l decir esto, se volvió y vio a Jesús que estaba allí, pero no sabía que era Jesús.
After saying this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there. But she did not know that it was Jesus.
15 “ Mujer, ¿por qué lloras ?” le dijo Jesús. “¿A quién buscas?” Ella, pensando que era el que cuidaba el huerto, Le dijo: “Señor, si usted Lo ha llevado, dígame dónde Lo ha puesto, y yo me Lo llevaré.”
He said to her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who are you looking for?” She thought He was the man who cared for the garden. She said to Him, “Sir, if you have taken Jesus from here, tell me where you have put Him. I will take Him away.”
16 “ ¡María!” le dijo Jesús. Ella, volviéndose, Le dijo en Hebreo: “¡Raboní!” (que quiere decir Maestro).
Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned around and said to Him, “Teacher!”
17 J esús le dijo: “Suéltame (No Me agarres) porque todavía no he subido al Padre; pero ve a Mis hermanos, y diles: ‘Subo a Mi Padre y Padre de ustedes, a Mi Dios y Dios de ustedes.’”
Jesus said to her, “Do not hold on to Me. I have not yet gone up to My Father. But go to My brothers. Tell them that I will go up to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God!”
18 M aría Magdalena fue y anunció a los discípulos: “¡He visto al Señor!,” y que El le había dicho estas cosas. Aparición a los Discípulos
Mary Magdalene went and told the followers that she had seen the Lord. She told them the things He had said to her. Jesus Was Seen by His Followers—Thomas Was Not There
19 A l atardecer de aquel día, el primero de la semana, y estando cerradas las puertas del lugar donde los discípulos se encontraban por miedo a los Judíos, Jesús vino y se puso en medio de ellos, y les dijo: “Paz a ustedes.”
It was evening of the first day of the week. The followers had gathered together with the doors locked because they were afraid of the Jews. Jesus came and stood among them. He said, “May you have peace.”
20 Y diciendo esto, les mostró las manos y el costado. Entonces los discípulos se regocijaron al ver al Señor.
When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. When the followers saw the Lord, they were filled with joy. Jesus Sends His Followers to Preach
21 J esús les dijo otra vez: “Paz a ustedes; como el Padre Me ha enviado, así también Yo los envío.”
Then Jesus said to them again, “May you have peace. As the Father has sent Me, I also am sending you.”
22 D espués de decir esto, sopló sobre ellos y les dijo: “Reciban el Espíritu Santo.
When Jesus had said this, He breathed on them. He said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
23 A quienes perdonen los pecados, éstos les son perdonados; a quienes retengan los pecados, éstos les son retenidos.” Incredulidad de Tomás
If you say that people are free of sins, they are free of them. If you say that people are not free of sins, they still have them.” Thomas Does Not Believe Jesus Is Raised from the Dead
24 T omás, uno de los doce, llamado el Dídimo (el Gemelo), no estaba con ellos cuando Jesús vino.
Thomas was not with them when Jesus came. He was one of the twelve followers and was called the Twin.
25 E ntonces los otros discípulos le decían: “¡Hemos visto al Señor!” Pero él les dijo: “Si no veo en Sus manos la señal de los clavos, y meto el dedo en el lugar de los clavos, y pongo la mano en Su costado, no creeré.”
The other followers told him, “We have seen the Lord!” He said to them, “I will not believe until I see the marks made by the nails in His hands. I will not believe until I put my finger into the marks of the nails. I will not believe until I put my hand into His side.” Jesus Was Seen Again by His Followers—Thomas Was There
26 O cho días después, Sus discípulos estaban otra vez dentro (en la casa), y Tomás con ellos. Estando las puertas cerradas, Jesús vino y se puso en medio de ellos, y dijo: “Paz a ustedes.”
Eight days later the followers were again inside a house. Thomas was with them. The doors were locked. Jesus came and stood among them. He said, “May you have peace!”
27 L uego dijo a Tomás: “Acerca aquí tu dedo, y mira Mis manos; extiende aquí tu mano y métela en Mi costado; y no seas incrédulo, sino creyente.”
He said to Thomas, “Put your finger into My hands. Put your hand into My side. Do not doubt, believe!”
28 “ ¡Señor mío y Dios mío!” Le dijo Tomás.
Thomas said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”
29 J esús le dijo: “¿Porque Me has visto has creído? Dichosos los que no vieron, y sin embargo creyeron.” El Propósito de este Evangelio según Juan
Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you believe. Those are happy who have never seen Me and yet believe!”
30 Y muchas otras señales (milagros) hizo también Jesús en presencia de Sus discípulos, que no están escritas en este libro;
Jesus did many other powerful works in front of His followers. They are not written in this book.
31 p ero éstas se han escrito para que ustedes crean que Jesús es el Cristo (el Mesías), el Hijo de Dios; y para que al creer, tengan vida en Su nombre.
But these are written so you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. When you put your trust in Him, you will have life that lasts forever through His name.
