1 E sta es la enumeración de los hijos de Israel, los jefes de casas paternas, los capitanes de miles y de cientos, y sus oficiales que servían al rey en todos los asuntos de las divisiones que entraban y salían, mes por mes durante todos los meses del año; cada división tenía 24, 000.

These were the sons of Israel, the heads of fathers’ houses. They were the leaders of thousands and of hundreds. These were the captains who worked for the king in anything to do with the armies which came in and went out every month of the year. There were 24, 000 men in each army.

2 A cargo de la primera división para el primer mes estaba Jasobeam, hijo de Zabdiel; y en su división había 24, 000.

Jashobeam the son of Zabdiel was the leader of the first army for the first month. There were 24, 000 in his army.

3 E l era de los hijos de Pérez, y fue jefe de todos los capitanes del ejército para el primer mes.

He was a son of Perez, and head of all the captains of the army for the first month.

4 A cargo de la división para el segundo mes estaba Dodai el Ahohíta con su división, siendo Miclot el jefe principal; y en su división había 24, 000.

Dodai the Ahohite was the leader of the army for the second month. Mikloth was the head captain. There were 24, 000 in his army.

5 E l tercer comandante del ejército para el tercer mes era Benaía, hijo del sacerdote Joiada, como jefe; y en su división había 24, 000.

The third leader of the army for the third month was Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada the religious leader. There were 24, 000 in his army.

6 E ste Benaía era un valiente de los treinta, y estaba sobre los treinta, y en su división estaba su hijo Amisabad.

This is the Benaiah who was the strong man of the thirty, and leader of the thirty. Ammizabad his son was captain of his army.

7 E l cuarto para el cuarto mes era Asael, hermano de Joab, y después de él Zebadías su hijo; y en su división había 24, 000.

The fourth leader for the fourth month was Asahel the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son after him. There were 24, 000 in his army.

8 E l quinto para el quinto mes era el capitán Samhut el Izraíta; y en su división había 24, 000.

The fifth leader for the fifth month was Shamhuth the Izrahite. There were 24, 000 in his army.

9 E l sexto para el sexto mes era Ira, hijo de Iques el Tecoíta; y en su división había 24, 000.

The sixth for the sixth month was Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite. There were 24, 000 in his army.

10 E l séptimo para el séptimo mes era Heles el Pelonita, de los hijos de Efraín; y en su división había 24, 000.

The seventh for the seventh month was Helez the Pelonite of the sons of Ephraim. There were 24, 000 in his army.

11 E l octavo para el octavo mes era Sibecai el Husatita, de los Zeraítas; y en su división había 24, 000.

The eighth for the eighth month was Sibbecai the Hushathite of the Zerahites. There were 24, 000 in his army.

12 E l noveno para el noveno mes era Abiezer el Anatotita, de los Benjamitas; y en su división había 24, 000.

The ninth for the ninth month was Abiezer the Anathothite of the Benjamites. There were 24, 000 in his army.

13 E l décimo para el décimo mes era Maharai el Netofatita, de los Zeraítas; y en su división había 24, 000.

The tenth for the tenth month was Maharai the Netophathite of the Zerahites. There were 24, 000 in his army.

14 E l undécimo para el undécimo mes era Benaía el Piratonita, de los hijos de Efraín; y en su división había 24, 000.

The eleventh for the eleventh month was Benaiah the Pirathonite of the sons of Ephraim. There were 24, 000 in his army.

15 E l duodécimo para el duodécimo mes era Heldai el Netofatita, de Otoniel; y en su división había 24, 000.

The twelfth for the twelfth month was Heldai the Netophathite of Othniel. There were 24, 000 in his army. Leaders of Family Groups

The leaders of the family groups of Israel were: Eliezer the son of Zichri was the head captain of the Reubenites; Shephatiah the son of Maacah led the Simeonites.

Hashabiah the son of Kemuel led the sons of Levi; Zadok led the sons of Aaron.

18 d e Judá, Eliú, uno de los hermanos de David; de Isacar, Omri, hijo de Micael;

Elihu, one of David’s brothers, led the sons of Judah; Omri the son of Michael led the sons of Issachar;

19 d e Zabulón, Ismaías, hijo de Abdías; de Neftalí, Jerimot, hijo de Azriel;

Ishmaiah the son of Obadiah led the sons of Zebulun; Jeremoth the son of Azriel led the sons of Naphtali;

Hoshea the son of Azaziah led the sons of Ephraim; Joel the son of Pedaiah led the half-family group of Manasseh;

Iddo the son of Zechariah led the half-family group of Manasseh in Gilead; Jaasiel the son of Abner led the sons of Benjamin;

And Azarel the son of Jeroham led the sons of Dan. These were the leaders of the families of Israel.

23 P ero David no enumeró a los de veinte años para abajo, porque el Señor había dicho que El multiplicaría a Israel como las estrellas del cielo.

But David did not number those younger than twenty years old because the Lord had promised to make Israel many, as the stars of heaven.

24 J oab, hijo de Sarvia, había comenzado a contar los, pero no acabó; y debido a esto, la ira cayó sobre Israel, y el número no fue incluido en el registro de las crónicas del rey David.

Joab the son of Zeruiah had begun to number them, but did not finish. Anger came upon Israel because of this. So the number was not put into the book of the chronicles of King David.

25 A cargo de los almacenes del rey estaba Azmavet, hijo de Adiel. Y a cargo de los almacenes en el campo, en las ciudades, en las aldeas y en las torres estaba Jonatán, hijo de Uzías.

Azmaveth the son of Adiel was over the king’s store-houses. Jonathan the son of Uzziah was over the store-houses in the country, in the cities, in the towns, and in the towers.

26 S obre los obreros agrícolas que labraban la tierra estaba Ezri, hijo de Quelub.

Ezri the son of Chelub was over those who worked in the fields, plowing and planting.

27 A cargo de las viñas estaba Simei el Ramatita; y a cargo del producto de las viñas guardado en las bodegas estaba Zabdi el Sifmita.

Shimei the Ramathite was over the grape-fields. Zabdi the Shiphmite was over the fruit of the grape-fields for the wine.

28 A cargo de los olivares y sicómoros en la Sefela (tierras bajas) estaba Baal Hanán el Gederita; y a cargo de los depósitos de aceite estaba Joás.

Baalhanan the Gederite was over the olive and sycamore trees in the plains. Joash was captain of the stores of oil.

29 A cargo del ganado que pastaba en Sarón estaba Sitrai el Saronita; y a cargo del ganado en los valles estaba Safat, hijo de Adlai.

Shitrai the Sharonite was over the cattle which were eating in the fields of Sharon. Shaphat the son of Adlai was over the cattle in the valleys.

30 A cargo de los camellos estaba Obil el Ismaelita; y a cargo de las asnas estaba Jehedías el Meronotita.

Obil the Ishmaelite was over the camels. Jehdeiah the Meronothite was over the donkeys.

31 A cargo de las ovejas estaba Jaziz el Agareno. Todos éstos eran administradores de las propiedades del rey David.

And Jaziz the Hagrite was over the flocks. All these were over all that belonged to King David.

32 T ambién Jonatán, hombre de entendimiento, tío de David, era consejero y escriba; y Jehiel, hijo de Hacmoni, instruía a los hijos del rey.

Jonathan, the brother of David’s father, used much wisdom talking with people. And he was a writer. Jehiel the son of Hachmoni taught the king’s sons.

33 A hitofel era consejero del rey, y Husai el Arquita era amigo del rey.

Ahithophel talked about problems with the king. Hushai the Archite was the king’s friend.

34 Y Joiada, hijo de Benaía, y Abiatar sucedieron a Ahitofel. Y Joab era el comandante del ejército del rey.

Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abaiathar, talked with the king after Ahithophel. And Joab was the captain of the king’s army.
