1 O ra, os filhos de Israel segundo o seu número, os chefes das casas paternas, e os chefes dos milhares e das centenas, com os seus oficiais, que serviam ao rei em todos os negócios das turmas que entravam e saíam de mês em mês, em todos os meses do ano, eram em cada turma vinte e quatro mil.

These were the sons of Israel, the heads of fathers’ houses. They were the leaders of thousands and of hundreds. These were the captains who worked for the king in anything to do with the armies which came in and went out every month of the year. There were 24, 000 men in each army.

2 s obre a primeira turma, no primeiro mês, estava Jasobeão, filho de Zabdiel; e em sua turma havia vinte e quatro mil.

Jashobeam the son of Zabdiel was the leader of the first army for the first month. There were 24, 000 in his army.

3 E ra ele descendente de Pérez, e chefe de todos os comandantes do exército para o primeiro mês.

He was a son of Perez, and head of all the captains of the army for the first month.

4 S obre a turma do segundo mês estava Dodai, o aoíta, com a sua turma, cujo chefe era Miclote; e em sua turma havia vinte e quatro mil.

Dodai the Ahohite was the leader of the army for the second month. Mikloth was the head captain. There were 24, 000 in his army.

5 O terceiro comandante do exército, para o terceiro mês, era o chefe Benaías, filho do sacerdote Jeoiada; e em sua turma havia vinte e quatro mil.

The third leader of the army for the third month was Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada the religious leader. There were 24, 000 in his army.

6 E ste é aquele Benaías que era o varão valente entre os trinta e comandava os trinta; e da sua turma era seu filho Amizabade.

This is the Benaiah who was the strong man of the thirty, and leader of the thirty. Ammizabad his son was captain of his army.

7 O quarto, do quarto mês, era Asael, irmão de Joabe, e depois dele Zebadia; seu filho; e em sua turma havia vinte e quatro mil.

The fourth leader for the fourth month was Asahel the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son after him. There were 24, 000 in his army.

8 O quinto, do quinto mês:, Samute, o israíta; e em sua turma havia vinte e quatro mil.

The fifth leader for the fifth month was Shamhuth the Izrahite. There were 24, 000 in his army.

9 O sexto, do sexto mês: Ira, filho de Iques, o tecoíta; e em sua turma havia vinte e quatro mil.

The sixth for the sixth month was Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite. There were 24, 000 in his army.

10 O sétimo, do sétimo mês:, Helez, o pelonita, descendente de Efraim; e em sua turma havia vinte e quatro mil.

The seventh for the seventh month was Helez the Pelonite of the sons of Ephraim. There were 24, 000 in his army.

11 O oitavo, do oitavo mês, Sibecai, o husatita, dos zeraítas; e em sua turma havia vinte e quatro mil.

The eighth for the eighth month was Sibbecai the Hushathite of the Zerahites. There were 24, 000 in his army.

12 O nono, do nono mês, Abiezer, o anatotita, dos benjamitas; e em sua turma havia vinte e quatro mil.

The ninth for the ninth month was Abiezer the Anathothite of the Benjamites. There were 24, 000 in his army.

13 O décimo, do décimo mês, Maarai, o netofatita, dos zeraítas; e em sua turma havia vinte e quatro mil.

The tenth for the tenth month was Maharai the Netophathite of the Zerahites. There were 24, 000 in his army.

14 O undécimo, do undécimo mês, Benaías, o piratonita, dos filhos de Efraim; e em sua turma havia vinte e quatro mil.

The eleventh for the eleventh month was Benaiah the Pirathonite of the sons of Ephraim. There were 24, 000 in his army.

15 O duodécimo, do duodécimo mês, Heldai, o netofatita, de Otniel; e em sua turma havia vinte e quatro mil.

The twelfth for the twelfth month was Heldai the Netophathite of Othniel. There were 24, 000 in his army. Leaders of Family Groups

16 S obre as tribos de Israel estavam estes: sobre os rubenitas era chefe Eliézer, filho de Zicri; sobre os simeonitas, Sefatias, filho de Maacá;

The leaders of the family groups of Israel were: Eliezer the son of Zichri was the head captain of the Reubenites; Shephatiah the son of Maacah led the Simeonites.

17 s obre os levitas, Hasabias, filho de Quemuel; sobre os aronitas, Zadoque;

Hashabiah the son of Kemuel led the sons of Levi; Zadok led the sons of Aaron.

18 s obre Judá,, Eliu:, um dos irmãos de Davi; sobre Issacar, Onri, filho de Micael;

Elihu, one of David’s brothers, led the sons of Judah; Omri the son of Michael led the sons of Issachar;

19 s obre Zebulom, Ismaías, filho de Obadias; sobre Naftali, Jerimote, filho de Azrriel;

Ishmaiah the son of Obadiah led the sons of Zebulun; Jeremoth the son of Azriel led the sons of Naphtali;

20 s obre os filhos de Efraim, Oséias, filho de Azazias; sobre a meia tribo de Manassés, Joel, filho de Pedaías;

Hoshea the son of Azaziah led the sons of Ephraim; Joel the son of Pedaiah led the half-family group of Manasseh;

21 s obre a meia tribo de Manassés em Gileade, Ido, filho de Zacarias; sobre Benjamim, Jaasiel, filho de Abner;

Iddo the son of Zechariah led the half-family group of Manasseh in Gilead; Jaasiel the son of Abner led the sons of Benjamin;

22 s obre Dã, Azarel, filho de Jeroão. Esses eram os chefes das tribos de Israel.

And Azarel the son of Jeroham led the sons of Dan. These were the leaders of the families of Israel.

23 N ão tomou, porém, Davi o número dos de vinte anos para baixo, porquanto o Senhor tinha dito que havia de multiplicar Israel como as estrelas do céu.

But David did not number those younger than twenty years old because the Lord had promised to make Israel many, as the stars of heaven.

24 J oabe, filho de Zeruia, tinha começado a numerá-los, porém não acabou, porquanto viera por isso ira sobre Israel; pelo que o número não foi posto no livro das crônicas do rei Davi.

Joab the son of Zeruiah had begun to number them, but did not finish. Anger came upon Israel because of this. So the number was not put into the book of the chronicles of King David.

25 S obre os tesouros do rei estava Azmavete, filho de Adiel; sobre os tesouros dos campos, das cidades, das aldeias e das torres, Jônatas, filho de Uzias;

Azmaveth the son of Adiel was over the king’s store-houses. Jonathan the son of Uzziah was over the store-houses in the country, in the cities, in the towns, and in the towers.

26 s obre os que faziam a obra do campo, na lavoura da terra, Ezri, filho de Quelube;

Ezri the son of Chelub was over those who worked in the fields, plowing and planting.

27 s obre as vinhas, Simei, o ramatita; sobre o produto das vides nas adegas do vinho, Zabdi, o sifmita;

Shimei the Ramathite was over the grape-fields. Zabdi the Shiphmite was over the fruit of the grape-fields for the wine.

28 s obre os olivais e sicômoros que havia nas campinas, Baal-Hanã, o gederita; sobre os armazéns do azeite, Joás;

Baalhanan the Gederite was over the olive and sycamore trees in the plains. Joash was captain of the stores of oil.

29 s obre o gado que pastava em Sarom, Sitrai, o saronita; sobre o gado dos vales, Safate, filho de Adlai;

Shitrai the Sharonite was over the cattle which were eating in the fields of Sharon. Shaphat the son of Adlai was over the cattle in the valleys.

30 s obre os camelos, Obil, o ismaelita; sobre as jumentas, Jedeías, o meronotita;

Obil the Ishmaelite was over the camels. Jehdeiah the Meronothite was over the donkeys.

31 e sobre o gado miúdo, Jaziz, o hagrita. Todos esses eram os intendentes dos bens do rei Davi.

And Jaziz the Hagrite was over the flocks. All these were over all that belonged to King David.

32 J ônatas, tio de Davi, era conselheiro, homem entendido, e escriba; ele e Jeiel, filho de Hacmôni, assistiam os filhos do rei;

Jonathan, the brother of David’s father, used much wisdom talking with people. And he was a writer. Jehiel the son of Hachmoni taught the king’s sons.

33 A itofel era conselheiro do rei; Husai, o arquita, era amigo o rei;

Ahithophel talked about problems with the king. Hushai the Archite was the king’s friend.

34 d epois de Aitotel, Jeoiada, filho de Benaías, e Abiatar foram conselheiros; e Joabe era chefe do exército do rei.

Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abaiathar, talked with the king after Ahithophel. And Joab was the captain of the king’s army.
