1 N aquele tempo passou Jesus pelas searas num dia de sábado; e os seus discípulos, sentindo fome, começaram a colher espigas, e a comer.

At that time Jesus walked through the grain-fields on the Day of Rest. His followers were hungry and began to pick off grain to eat.

2 O s fariseus, vendo isso, disseram-lhe: Eis que os teus discípulos estão fazendo o que não é lícito fazer no sábado.

The proud religious law-keepers saw this. They said to Jesus, “See! Your followers do what the Law says not to do on the Day of Rest.”

3 E le, porém, lhes disse: Acaso não lestes o que fez Davi, quando teve fome, ele e seus companheiros?

He said to them, “Have you not read what David did when he and his men were hungry?

4 C omo entrou na casa de Deus, e como eles comeram os pães da proposição, que não lhe era lícito comer, nem a seus companheiros, mas somente aos sacerdotes?

He went into the house of God and ate the special bread used in worship which was against the Law for him or those with him to eat! Only the Jewish religious leaders were to eat that special bread.

5 O u não lestes na lei que, aos sábados, os sacerdotes no templo violam o sábado, e ficam sem culpa?

Have you not read in the Law how the religious leaders do that which is not right to do on the Day of Rest, and yet they are not guilty?

6 D igo-vos, porém, que aqui está o que é maior do que o templo.

I tell you that Someone greater than the house of God is here.

7 M as, se vós soubésseis o que significa: Misericórdia quero, e não sacrifícios, não condenaríeis os inocentes.

If you had understood what the words mean, ‘I want loving-kindness and not a gift to be given,’ you would not say a person is guilty who has done no wrong.

8 P orque o Filho do homem até do sábado é o Senhor.

For the Son of Man is Lord of the Day of Rest.” Jesus Heals on the Day of Rest

9 P artindo dali, entrou Jesus na sinagoga deles.

From there Jesus went into their place of worship.

10 E eis que estava ali um homem que tinha uma das mãos atrofiadas; e eles, para poderem acusar a Jesus, o interrogaram, dizendo: É lícito curar nos sábados?

A man was there with a dried-up hand. The proud religious law-keepers asked Jesus, “Does the Law say it is right to heal on the Day of Rest?” They wanted something to say against Him.

11 E ele lhes disse: Qual dentre vós será o homem que, tendo uma só ovelha, se num sábado ela cair numa cova, não há de lançar mão dela, e tirá-la?

He said to them, “If one of you has a sheep which falls into a hole on the Day of Rest, will you not take hold of it and pull it out?

12 O ra, quanto mais vale um homem do que uma ovelha! Portanto, é lícito fazer bem nos sábados.

How much better is a man than a sheep! So it is right to do good on the Day of Rest.”

13 E ntão disse

Then He said to the man, “Put out your hand.” He held it out and it was made as well as the other.

14 O s fariseus, porém, saindo dali, tomaram conselho contra ele, para o matarem.

The proud religious law-keepers went out and made plans against Him. They planned how they might kill Him. Jesus Heals Many People

15 J esus, percebendo isso, retirou-se dali. Acompanharam-no muitos; e ele curou a todos,

Jesus knew this and went away from there. Many people followed Him and He healed all of them.

16 e advertiu-lhes que não o dessem a conhecer;

He told them to tell no one of Him.

17 p ara que se cumprisse o que foi dito pelo profeta Isaías:

It happened as the early preacher Isaiah said it would happen, saying,

18 E is aqui o meu servo que escolhi, o meu amado em quem a minha alma se compraz; porei sobre ele o meu espírito, e ele anunciará aos gentios o juízo.

“See! My Servant Whom I have chosen! My much Loved, in Whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit in Him. He will say to the nations what is right from wrong.

19 N ão contenderá, nem clamará, nem se ouvirá pelas ruas a sua voz.

He will not fight or speak with a loud voice. No man will hear His voice in the streets.

20 N ão esmagará a cana quebrada, e não apagará o morrão que fumega, até que faça triunfar o juízo;

He will not break a broken branch. He will not put out a little fire until He makes things right.

21 e no seu nome os gentios esperarão.

In His name the nations will have hope.” A Nation That Cannot Stand

22 T rouxeram-lhe então um endemoninhado cego e mudo; e ele o curou, de modo que o mudo falava e via.

Then they brought to Him a man who had a demon. He was blind and could not speak. Jesus healed him and he could talk and see.

23 E toda a multidão, maravilhada, dizia: É este, porventura, o Filho de Davi?

All the people were surprised and said, “Can this Man be the Son of David?”

24 M as os fariseus, ouvindo isto, disseram: Este não expulsa os demônios senão por Belzebu, príncipe dos demônios.

But when the proud religious law-keepers heard it, they said, “This Man puts out demons only by Satan, the leader of demons.”

25 J esus, porém, conhecendo-lhes os pensamentos, disse-lhes: Todo reino dividido contra si mesmo é devastado; e toda cidade, ou casa, dividida contra si mesma não subsistirá.

Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every nation divided into groups that fight each other is going to be destroyed. Every city or family divided into groups that fight each other will not stand.

26 O ra, se Satanás expulsa a Satanás, está dividido contra si mesmo; como subsistirá, pois, o seus reino?

If the devil puts out the devil, he is divided against himself. How will his nation stand?

27 E , se eu expulso os demônios por Belzebu, por quem os expulsam os vossos filhos? Por isso, eles mesmos serão os vossos juízes.

If I put out demons by Satan, by whom do your followers put them out? So your followers will say if you are guilty.

28 M as, se é pelo Espírito de Deus que eu expulso os demônios, logo é chegado a vós o reino de Deus.

But if I put out demons by the Spirit of God, then the holy nation of God is come to you.

29 O u, como pode alguém entrar na casa do valente, e roubar-lhe os bens, se primeiro não amarrar o valente? e então lhe saquear a casa.

How can anyone go into a strong man’s house and take away his things, unless he ties up the strong man first? Only then can he take things from his house. The Sin That Cannot Be Forgiven

30 Q uem não é comigo é contra mim; e quem comigo não ajunta, espalha.

“Whoever is not with Me is against Me. Whoever is not gathering with Me is sending everywhere.

31 P ortanto vos digo: Todo pecado e blasfêmia se perdoará aos homens; mas a blasfêmia contra o Espírito não será perdoada.

I tell you, every sin and every bad word men speak against God will be forgiven, but bad words spoken against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

32 S e alguém disser alguma palavra contra o Filho do homem, isso lhe será perdoado; mas se alguém falar contra o Espírito Santo, não lhe será perdoado, nem neste mundo, nem no vindouro.

Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven in this life or in the life to come. The Sin of Saying Bad Things

33 O u fazei a árvore boa, e o seu fruto bom; ou fazei a árvore má, e o seu fruto mau; porque pelo fruto se conhece a árvore.

“A good tree gives good fruit. A bad tree gives bad fruit. A tree is known by its fruit.

34 R aça de víboras! como podeis vós falar coisas boas, sendo maus? pois do que há em abundância no coração, disso fala a boca.

You family of snakes! How can you say good things when you are sinful? The mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

35 O homem bom, do seu bom tesouro tira coisas boas, e o homem mau do mau tesouro tira coisas más.

A good man will speak good things because of the good in him. A bad man will speak bad things because of the sin in him.

36 D igo-vos, pois, que de toda palavra fútil que os homens disserem, hão de dar conta no dia do juízo.

I say to you, on the day men stand before God, they will have to give an answer for every word they have spoken that was not important.

37 P orque pelas tuas palavras serás justificado, e pelas tuas palavras serás condenado.

For it is by your words that you will not be guilty and it is by your words that you will be guilty.” Jesus Tells about Jonah

38 E ntão alguns dos escribas e dos fariseus, tomando a palavra, disseram: Mestre, queremos ver da tua parte algum sinal.

Then some of the teachers of the Law and the proud religious law-keepers said to Jesus, “Teacher, we would like to have you do something special for us to see.”

39 M as ele lhes respondeu: Uma geração má e adúltera pede um sinal; e nenhum sinal se lhe dará, senão o do profeta Jonas;

He said to them, “The sinful people of this day look for something special to see. There will be nothing special to see but the powerful works of the early preacher Jonah.

40 p ois, como Jonas esteve três dias e três noites no ventre do grande peixe, assim estará o Filho do homem três dias e três noites no seio da terra.

Jonah was three days and three nights in the stomach of a big fish. The Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the grave also.

41 O s ninivitas se levantarão no juízo com esta geração, e a condenarão; porque se arrependeram com a pregação de Jonas. E eis aqui quem é maior do que Jonas.

The men of the city of Nineveh will stand up with the people of this day on the day men stand before God. Those men will say these people are guilty because the men of Nineveh were sorry for their sins and turned from them when Jonah preached. And see, Someone greater than Jonah is here!

42 A rainha do sul se levantará no juízo com esta geração, e a condenará; porque veio dos confins da terra para ouvir a sabedoria de Salomão. E eis aqui quem é maior do que Salomão.

“The queen of the south will stand up with the people of this day on the day men stand before God. She will say that these people are guilty because she came from the ends of the earth to listen to the wise sayings of Solomon. And see, Someone greater than Solomon is here! A Person Filled with Bad or Good

43 O ra, havendo o espírito imundo saido do homem, anda por lugares áridos, buscando repouso, e não o encontra.

“When a demon is gone out of a man, it goes through dry places to find rest. It finds none.

44 E ntão diz: Voltarei para minha casa, donde saí. E, chegando, acha-a desocupada, varrida e adornada.

Then it says, ‘I will go back into my house from which I came.’ When it goes back, it sees that it is empty. But it sees that the house has been cleaned and looks good.

45 E ntão vai e leva consigo outros sete espíritos piores do que ele e, entretanto, habitam ali; e o último estado desse homem vem a ser pior do que o primeiro. Assim há de acontecer também a esta geração perversa.

Then it goes out and comes back bringing with it seven demons more sinful than itself. They go in and live there. In the end that man is worse than at first. It will be like this with the sinful people of this day.” The New Kind of Family

46 E nquanto ele ainda falava

While Jesus was still talking to the people, His mother and His brothers came and stood outside. They wanted to talk to Him.

47 D isse-lhe alguém: Eis que estão ali fora tua mãe e teus irmãos, e procuram falar contigo.

Someone said to Him, “Your mother and brothers are outside and want to talk to you.”

48 E le, porém, respondeu ao que lhe falava: Quem é minha mãe? e quem são meus irmãos?

Jesus said, “Who is My mother? And who are My brothers?”

49 E , estendendo a mão para os seus discípulos disse: Eis aqui minha mãe e meus irmãos.

He put out His hand to His followers and said, “See, these are My mother and My brothers!

50 P ois qualquer que fizer a vontade de meu Pai que está nos céus, esse é meu irmão, irmã e mãe.

Whoever does what My father in heaven wants him to do is My brother and My sister and My mother.”
