1 C ompadece-te de mim, ó Deus, compadece-te de mim, pois em ti se refugia a minha alma; ã sombra das tuas asas me refugiarei, até que passem as calamidades.

Show me loving-kindness, O God, show me loving-kindness. For my soul goes to You to be safe. And I will be safe in the shadow of Your wings until the trouble has passed.

2 C lamarei ao Deus altíssimo, ao Deus que por mim tudo executa.

I will cry to God Most High, to God Who finishes all things for me.

3 E le do céu enviará seu auxílio, e me salvará, quando me ultrajar aquele que quer calçar-me aos pés. Deus enviará a sua misericórdia e a sua verdade.

He will send from heaven and save me. He will put to shame him who is breaking me under his feet. God will send His loving-kindness and His truth.

4 E stou deitado no meio de leões; tenho que deitar-me no meio daqueles que respiram chamas, filhos dos homens, cujos dentes são lanças e flechas, e cuja língua é espada afiada.

My soul is among lions. I must lie among the sons of men who breathe fire, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and whose tongues are a sharp sword.

5 S ê exaltado, ó Deus, acima dos céus; seja a tua glória sobre toda a terra.

Be lifted up above the heavens, O God. Let Your shining-greatness be above all the earth.

6 A rmaram um laço para os meus passos, a minha alma ficou abatida; cavaram uma cova diante de mim, mas foram eles que nela caíram.

They have set a net for my steps. My soul is brought down. They dug a deep hole in front of me. But they themselves have fallen into it.

7 R esoluto está o meu coração, ó Deus, resoluto está o meu coração; cantarei, sim, cantarei louvores.

My heart will not be moved, O God. My heart cannot be moved. I will sing, yes, I will sing praises!

8 D esperta, minha alma; despertai, alaúde e harpa; eu mesmo despertarei a aurora.

Awake, my shining-greatness. Awake, harps. I will awake early in the morning.

9 L ouvar-te-ei, Senhor, entre os povos; cantar-te-ei louvores entre as nações.

O Lord, I will give thanks to You among the people. I will sing praises to You among the nations.

10 P ois a tua benignidade é grande até os céus, e a tua verdade até as nuvens.

For Your loving-kindness is great to the heavens, and Your truth to the clouds.

11 S ê exaltado, ó Deus, acima dos céus; e seja a tua glória sobre a terra.

Be lifted up above the heavens, O God. Let Your shining-greatness be above all the earth.
