I love the Lord, because He hears my voice and my prayers.

2 P orque inclina para mim o seu ouvido, invocá-lo-ei enquanto viver.

I will call on Him as long as I live, because He has turned His ear to me.

3 O s laços da morte me cercaram; as angústias do Seol se apoderaram de mim; sofri tribulação e tristeza.

The strings of death are all around me. And the fear of the grave came upon me. I suffered with trouble and sorrow.

4 E ntão invoquei o nome do Senhor, dizendo:Ó Senhor, eu te rogo, livra-me.

Then I called on the name of the Lord: “O Lord, I beg You, save my life!”

5 C ompassivo é o Senhor, e justo; sim, misericordioso é o nosso Deus.

The Lord is loving and right. Yes, our God is full of loving-kindness.

6 O Senhor guarda os simples; quando me acho abatido, ele me salva.

The Lord takes care of the child-like. I was brought down, and He saved me.

7 V olta, minha alma, ao teu repouso, pois o Senhor te fez bem.

Return to your rest, O my soul. For the Lord has been good to you.

8 P ois livraste a minha alma da morte, os meus olhos das lágrimas, e os meus pés de tropeçar.

For You, O Lord, have saved my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

9 A ndarei perante o Senhor, na terra dos viventes.

I will walk with the Lord in the land of the living.

10 C ri, por isso falei; estive muito aflito.

I believed when I said, “I am very troubled.”

11 E u dizia na minha precipitação: Todos os homens são mentirosos.

I said in my fear, “All men are liars.”

12 Q ue darei eu ao Senhor por todos os benefícios que me tem feito?

What should I give to the Lord for all the good things He has done for me?

13 T omarei o cálice da salvação, e invocarei o nome do Senhor.

I will show Him my thanks for saving me with a gift of wine and praise His name.

14 P agarei os meus votos ao Senhor, na presença de todo o seu povo.

I will keep my promises to the Lord before all His people.

15 P reciosa é ã vista do Senhor a morte dos seus santos.

The death of His holy ones is of great worth in the eyes of the Lord.

16 Ó Senhor, deveras sou teu servo; sou teu servo, filho da tua serva; soltaste as minhas cadeias.

For sure I am Your servant, O Lord. I am Your servant, the son of the woman who served You. You have set me free from my chains.

17 O ferecer-te-ei sacrifícios de ação de graças, e invocarei o nome do Senhor.

I will give a gift of thanks to You and call on the name of the Lord.

18 P agarei os meus votos ao Senhor, na presença de todo o seu povo,

I will keep my promises to the Lord before all His people,

19 n os átrios da casa do Senhor, no meio de ti, ó Jerusalém! Louvai ao Senhor.

in the holy place of the Lord, and in the center of you, O Jerusalem. Praise the Lord!
