1 Ó Deus, não guardes silêncio; não te cales nem fiques impassível, ó Deus.

O God, do not keep quiet. Do not be quiet, O God, and do not hold Your peace.

2 P ois eis que teus inimigos se alvoroçam, e os que te odeiam levantam a cabeça.

For, look, those who hate You are making much noise. Those who fight against You have honored themselves.

3 A stutamente formam conselho contra o teu povo, e conspiram contra os teus protegidos.

They make bad plans against Your people. They plan against those You care for.

4 D izem eles: Vinde, e apaguemo-los para que não sejam nação, nem seja lembrado mais o nome de Israel.

They say, “Come, let us destroy them as a nation. Let the name of Israel be remembered no longer.”

5 P ois ã uma se conluiam; aliam-se contra ti

For they plan together with one mind. They make an agreement against You:

6 a s tendas de Edom e os ismaelitas, Moabe e os hagarenos,

The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagarites;

7 G ebal, Amom e Amaleque, e a Filístia com os habitantes de tiro.

Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with those who live in Tyre;

8 T ambém a Assíria se ligou a eles; eles são o braço forte dos filhos de Ló.

Assyria has joined them also. They help the children of Lot.

9 F aze-lhes como fizeste a Midiã, como a Sísera, como a Jabim junto ao rio Quisom,

Do to them as You did to Midian, and to Sisera and Jabin at the river of Kishon.

10 o s quais foram destruídos em En-Dor; tornaram-se esterco para a terra.

They were destroyed at Endor. They were spread over the field.

11 F aze aos seus nobres como a Orebe e a Zeebe; e a todos os seus príncipes como a Zebá e a Zalmuna,

Make their respected men like Oreb and Zeeb. Make their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,

12 q ue disseram: Tomemos para nós as pastagens de Deus.

who said, “Let us take for ourselves the fields of God.”

13 D eus meu, faze-os como um turbilhão de pó, como a palha diante do vento.

O my God, make them like dust turning in the wind, like parts of the grass that have no worth and are blown away.

14 C omo o fogo queima um bosque, e como a chama incedeia as montanhas,

As the fire that burns up the trees and spreads over the mountains,

15 a ssim persegue-os com a tua tempestade, e assombra-os com o teu furacão.

so go behind them with Your storm. Make them afraid with Your storm.

16 C obre-lhes o rosto de confusão, de modo que busquem o teu nome, Senhor.

Fill their faces with shame, so they will look to Your name, O Lord.

17 S ejam envergonhados e conturbados perpetuamente; sejam confundidos, e pereçam,

Let them be ashamed and afraid forever. Let them be put to shame and lost.

18 p ara que saibam que só tu, cujo nome é o Senhor, és o Altíssimo sobre toda a terra.

Then they may know that You alone, Whose name is the Lord, are the Most High over all the earth.
