1 E ntão se levantou Eliasibe, o sumo sacerdote, juntamente com os seus irmãos, os sacerdotes, e edificaram a porta das ovelhas, a qual consagraram, e lhe assentaram os batentes. Consagraram-na até a torre dos cem, até a torre de Henanel.

Then Eliashib the head religious leader and his brothers the religious leaders started to work and built the Sheep Gate. They set it apart as holy, and hung its doors. They set apart as holy the wall to the Tower of the Hundred, and to the Tower of Hananel.

2 E junto a ele edificaram os homens de Jericó; também ao lado destes edificou Zacur, o filho de Inri.

The men of Jericho built next to him. And Zaccur the son of Imri built next to them.

3 O s filhos de Hassenaá edificaram a porta dos peixes, colocaram-lhe as vigas, e lhe assentaram os batentes, com seus ferrolhos e trancas.

The sons of Hassenaah built the Fish Gate. They laid the long wood pieces that hold up the gate and hung its doors with its iron pieces.

4 A o seu lado fez os reparos Meremote, filho de Urias, filho de Hacoz; ao seu lado Mesulão, filho de Berequias, filho de Mesezabel; ao seu lado Zadoque, filho de Baaná;

Next to them Meremoth the son of Uriah, son of Hakkoz, did the needed work. Next to him Meshullam the son of Berechiah, son of Meshezabel, did the needed work. And next to him Zadok the son of Baana did the needed work.

5 a o lado destes repararam os tecoítas; porém os seus nobres não meteram o pescoço os serviço do Senhor.

Next to him the Tekoites did the needed work, but their rulers would not do the work they were told to do by their lords.

6 J oiada, filho de Paséia, e Mesulão, filho de Besodéias, repararam a porta velha, colocaram-lhe as vigas, e lhe assentaram os batentes com seus ferrolhos e trancas.

Joiada the son of Paseah and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah did the needed work on the Old Gate. They laid its long wood pieces and hung its doors with its iron pieces.

7 J unto deles fizeram os reparos Melatias, o gibeonita, e Jadom, o meronotita, homens de Gibeão e de Mizpá, que pertenciam ao domínio do governador dalém do Rio;

Next to them Melatiah the Gibeonite and Jadon the Meronothite did the needed work. They were the men of Gibeon and Mizpah, who were under the rule of the leader of the land on the other side of the River.

8 a o seu lado Uziel, filho de Haraías, um dos ourives; ao lado dele Hananias, um dos perfumistas; e fortificaram Jerusalém até o muro largo.

Next to them Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, who worked with gold, did the needed work. Next to him Hananiah, one of the men who made perfume, did the needed work. They made Jerusalem like new as far as the Wide Wall.

9 A o seu lado fez os reparos Refaías, filho de Hur, governador da metade do distrito de Jerusalém;

Next to them Rephaiah the son of Hur, the leader of half of Jerusalem, did the needed work.

10 a o seu lado Jedaías, filho de Harumafe, defronte de sua casa; ao seu lado Hatus, filho de Hasabnéias.

Next to them Jedaiah the son of Harumaph did the needed work beside his house. And next to him Hattush the son of Hashabneiah did the needed work.

11 M alquias, filho de Harim, e Hassube, filho de Paate-Moabe, repararam outra parte, como também a torre dos fornos;

Malchijah the son of Harim and Hasshub the son of Pahath-moab did the needed work on another part and on the Tower of the Stoves.

12 e ao seu lado Salum, filho de Haloés, governador da outra metade do distrito de Jerusalém, ele e as suas filhas.

Next to him Shallum the son of Hallohesh, the leader of half of Jerusalem, did the needed work, he and his daughters.

13 A porta do vale, repararam-na Hanum e os moradores de Zanoa; estes a edificaram, e lhe assentaram os batentes, com seus ferrolhos e trancas, como também mil côvados de muro até a porto do monturo.

Hanun and the people of Zanoah did the needed work on the Valley Gate. They built it and hung its doors with its iron pieces. And they built the wall to the Waste Gate, as far as 500 long steps.

14 A porta do monturo, reparou-a Malquias, filho de Recabe, governador do distrito Bete-Haquerem; este a edificou, e lhe assentou os batentes com seus ferrolhos e trancas.

Malchijah the son of Rechab, the leader of Beth-haccherem did the needed work on the Waste Gate. He built it and hung its doors with its iron pieces.

15 A porta da fonte, reparou-a Salum, filho de Col-Hoze, governador do distrito de Mizpá; edificou-a e a cobriu, e lhe assentou os batentes, com seus ferrolhos e trancas; edificou também o muro da piscina de Selá, do jardim do rei, até os degraus que descem da cidade de Davi.

Shallum the son of Col-hozeh, the leader of Mizpah, did the needed work on the Well Gate. He built it, covered it, and hung its doors with its iron pieces. And he built the wall of the Pool of Shelah at the King’s Garden as far as the steps that go down from the City of David.

16 D epois dele Neemias, filho de Azbuque, governador da metade do distrito de Bete-Zur, fez os reparos até defronte dos sepulcros de Davi, até a piscina artificial, e até a casa dos homens poderosos.

After him Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, leader of half of Beth-zur, did the needed work as far as David’s grave, and as far as the Man-made Pool and the House of the Powerful Men. Levites Who Worked on the Wall

17 D epois dele fizeram os reparos os levitas: Reum, filho de Bani, e ao seu lado, Hasabias, governador da metade do distrito de Queila, por seu distrito;

After him the Levites did the needed work, led by Rehum the son of Bani. Next to him Hashabiah, the leader of half of Keilah, did the needed work for his part of the city.

18 d epois dele seus irmãos, Bavai, filho de Henadade, governador da outra metade do distrito de Queila.

After him their brothers did the needed work, led by Bavvai the son of Henadad, leader of the other half of Keilah.

19 A o seu lado Ézer, filho de Jesuá, governador de Mizpá, reparou outra parte, defronte da subida para a casa das armas, no ângulo.

Next to him Ezer the son of Jeshua, the leader of Mizpah, did the needed work on another part, in front of the hill up to the place where the things for battle were kept at the turn of the wall.

20 D epois dele reparou Baruque, filho de Zabai, outra parte, desde o ângulo até a porta da casa de Eliasibe, o sumo sacerdote.

After him Baruch the son of Zabbai did the needed work with much care on another part, from the turn of the wall to the door of the house of Eliashib the head religious leader.

21 D epois dele reparou Meremote, filho de Urias, filho de Hacoz, outra parte, deste a porta da casa de Eliasibe até a extremidade da mesma.

After him Meremoth the son of Uriah, son of Hakkoz did the needed work on another part from the door of Eliashib’s house to the end of the house. Religious Leaders Who Worked on the Wall

22 D epois dele fizeram os reparos os sacerdotes que habitavam na campina;

After him the religious leaders, the men of the valley, did the needed work.

23 d epois Benjamim e Hassube, defronte da sua casa; depois deles Azarias, filho de Maaséias, filho de Ananias, junto ã sua casa.

After them Benjamin and Hasshub did the needed work in front of their house. After them Azariah the son of Maaseiah, son of Ananiah, did the needed work beside his house.

24 D epois dele reparou Binuí, filho de Henadade, outra porte, desde a casa de Azarias até o ângulo e até a esquina.

After him Binnui the son of Henadad did the needed work on another part, from the house of Azariah as far as the turn of the wall, and to the corner.

25 P alal, filho de Uzai, reparou defronte do ângulo, e a torre que se projeta da casa real superior, que está junto ao átrio da guarda; depois dele Pedaías, filho de Parós.

Palal the son of Uzai did the needed work in front of the turn of the wall and the tower which stands out from the upper house of the king, by the open space of the house soldiers. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh

26 ( Ora, os netinins habitavam em Ofel, até defronte da porta das águas, para o oriente, e até a torre que se projeta.)

and the servants of the house of worship living in Ophel did the needed work as far as the front of the Water Gate on the east and the tall tower.

27 D epois repararam os tecoítas outra parte, defronte da grande torre que se projeta, e até o muro de Ofel.

After him the Tekoites did the needed work on another part in front of the tall tower and as far as the wall of Ophel.

28 P ara cima da porta dos cavalos fizeram os reparos os sacerdotes, cada um defronte da sua casa;

The religious leaders did the needed work above the Horse Gate. Each one worked in front of his house.

29 d epois dele Zadoque, filho de Imer, defronte de sua casa; e depois dele Semaías, filho de Secanias, guarda da porta oriental.

After them Zadok the son of Immer did the needed work in front of his house. And after him Shemaiah the son of Shecaniah, the keeper of the East Gate, did the needed work.

30 D epois dele repararam outra parte Hananias, filho de Selemias, e Hanum, o sexto filho de Zalafe. Depois dele reparou Mesulão, filho de Berequias, uma parte defronte da sua câmara.

After him Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, did the needed work on another part. After him Meshullam the son of Berechiah did the needed work in front of his own room.

31 D epois dele reparou Malquias, um dos ourives, uma parte até a casa dos netinins e dos mercadores, defronte da porta da guarda, e até a câmara superior da esquina.

After him Malchijah, one of the men who worked with gold, did the needed work as far as the house of the servants of the Lord’s house and of the traders. He worked in front of the Master Gate and as far as the upper room of the corner.

32 E entre a câmara da esquina e a porta das ovelhas repararam os ourives e os mercadores.

The gold-workers and the traders did the needed work between the upper room of the corner and the Sheep Gate.
