1 L úc đó, nhằm ngày Sa-bát, Đức Chúa Jêsus đi qua giữa đồng lúa mì; các môn đồ đói, bứt bông lúa mà ăn.

At that time Jesus walked through the grain-fields on the Day of Rest. His followers were hungry and began to pick off grain to eat.

2 N gười Pha-ri-si thấy vậy, bèn nói cùng Ngài rằng: Kìa môn đồ thầy làm điều không nên làm trong ngày Sa-bát.

The proud religious law-keepers saw this. They said to Jesus, “See! Your followers do what the Law says not to do on the Day of Rest.”

3 S ong Ngài đáp rằng: Chuyện vua Đa-vít đã làm trong khi vua với kẻ đi theo bị đói, các ngươi há chưa đọc đến sao?

He said to them, “Have you not read what David did when he and his men were hungry?

4 t ức là vua vào đền Đức Chúa Trời, ăn bánh bày ra, là bánh mà vua và kẻ đi theo không có phép ăn, chỉ để riêng cho các thầy tế lễ.

He went into the house of God and ate the special bread used in worship which was against the Law for him or those with him to eat! Only the Jewish religious leaders were to eat that special bread.

5 H ay là các ngươi không đọc trong sách luật, đến ngày Sa-bát, các thầy tế lễ trong đền thờ phạm luật ngày đó, mà không phải tội sao?

Have you not read in the Law how the religious leaders do that which is not right to do on the Day of Rest, and yet they are not guilty?

6 V ả lại, ta phán cùng các ngươi, tại chỗ nầy có một đấng tôn trọng hơn đền thờ.

I tell you that Someone greater than the house of God is here.

7 P hải chi các ngươi hiểu nghĩa câu nầy: Ta muốn lòng nhân từ, không muốn của tế lễ, thì các ngươi không trách những người vô tội;

If you had understood what the words mean, ‘I want loving-kindness and not a gift to be given,’ you would not say a person is guilty who has done no wrong.

8 v ì Con người là Chúa ngày Sa-bát.

For the Son of Man is Lord of the Day of Rest.” Jesus Heals on the Day of Rest

9 Đ ức Chúa Jêsus đi khỏi nơi đó, bèn vào nhà hội.

From there Jesus went into their place of worship.

10 Ở đó, có một người teo một bàn tay. Có kẻ hỏi Ngài rằng: Trong ngày Sa-bát, có phép chữa kẻ bịnh hay không? Aáy là họ có ý kiếm dịp kiện Ngài.

A man was there with a dried-up hand. The proud religious law-keepers asked Jesus, “Does the Law say it is right to heal on the Day of Rest?” They wanted something to say against Him.

11 N gài bèn phán cùng họ rằng: Ai trong vòng các ngươi có một con chiên, nếu đương ngày Sa-bát, bị té xuống hầm, thì há không kéo nó lên sao?

He said to them, “If one of you has a sheep which falls into a hole on the Day of Rest, will you not take hold of it and pull it out?

12 H uống chi người ta trọng hơn con chiên là dường nào! Vậy, trong ngày Sa-bát có phép làm việc lành.

How much better is a man than a sheep! So it is right to do good on the Day of Rest.”

13 Đ oạn, Ngài phán cùng người tay teo rằng: Hãy giơ tay ra. Người liền giơ tay, thì tay nầy cũng lành như tay kia.

Then He said to the man, “Put out your hand.” He held it out and it was made as well as the other.

14 N hững người Pha-ri-si đi ra ngoài rồi, bàn với nhau, lập mưu đặng giết Ngài.

The proud religious law-keepers went out and made plans against Him. They planned how they might kill Him. Jesus Heals Many People

15 S ong Đức Chúa Jêsus biết điều ấy, thì bỏ đi khỏi chỗ đó; có nhiều người theo, và Ngài chữa lành cả.

Jesus knew this and went away from there. Many people followed Him and He healed all of them.

16 N gài cấm ngặt họ đừng cho ai biết Ngài;

He told them to tell no one of Him.

17 đ ể được ứng nghiệm lời đấng tiên tri Ê-sai đã nói rằng:

It happened as the early preacher Isaiah said it would happen, saying,

18 N ầy, tôi tớ ta đã chọn, Là người mà ta rất yêu dấu, đẹp lòng ta mọi đàng. Ta sẽ cho Thánh Linh ta ngự trên người, Người sẽ rao giảng sự công bình cho dân ngoại.

“See! My Servant Whom I have chosen! My much Loved, in Whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit in Him. He will say to the nations what is right from wrong.

19 N gười sẽ chẳng cãi lẫy, chẳng kêu la, Và chẳng ai nghe được tiếng người ngoài đường cái.

He will not fight or speak with a loud voice. No man will hear His voice in the streets.

20 N gười sẽ chẳng bẻ cây sậy đã gãy, chẳng tắt ngọn đèn gần tàn, Cho đến chừng nào người khiến sự công bình được thắng.

He will not break a broken branch. He will not put out a little fire until He makes things right.

21 D ân ngoại sẽ trông cậy danh người.

In His name the nations will have hope.” A Nation That Cannot Stand

22 B ấy giờ có kẻ đem đến cho Đức Chúa Jêsus một người mắc quỉ ám, đui và câm; Ngài chữa cho, đến nỗi người câm nói và thấy được.

Then they brought to Him a man who had a demon. He was blind and could not speak. Jesus healed him and he could talk and see.

23 C húng lấy làm lạ, mà nói rằng: Có phải người đó là con cháu vua Đa-vít chăng?

All the people were surprised and said, “Can this Man be the Son of David?”

24 S ong những người Pha-ri-si nghe vậy, thì nói rằng: Người nầy chỉ nhờ Bê-ên-xê-bun là chúa quỉ mà trừ quỉ đó thôi.

But when the proud religious law-keepers heard it, they said, “This Man puts out demons only by Satan, the leader of demons.”

25 Đ ức Chúa Jêsus biết ý tưởng họ, thì phán rằng: Một nước mà chia xé nhau thì bị phá hoang; một thành hay là một nhà mà chia xé nhau thì không còn được.

Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every nation divided into groups that fight each other is going to be destroyed. Every city or family divided into groups that fight each other will not stand.

26 N ếu quỉ Sa-tan trừ quỉ Sa-tan, ấy là tự nó chia xé nhau; thì nước nó làm sao còn được ư?

If the devil puts out the devil, he is divided against himself. How will his nation stand?

27 V à nếu ta nhờ Bê-ên-xê-bun mà trừ quỉ, thì con các ngươi nhờ ai mà trừ quỉ ư? Bởi đó, chính chúng nó sẽ xử đoán các ngươi vậy.

If I put out demons by Satan, by whom do your followers put them out? So your followers will say if you are guilty.

28 M à nếu ta cậy Thánh Linh của Đức Chúa Trời để trừ quỉ, thì nước Đức Chúa Trời đã đến tận các ngươi.

But if I put out demons by the Spirit of God, then the holy nation of God is come to you.

29 H ay là, có lẽ nào, ai vào nhà một người mạnh sức để cướp lấy của, mà trước không trói người mạnh sức ấy được sao? Phải trói người rồi mới cướp của nhà người được.

How can anyone go into a strong man’s house and take away his things, unless he ties up the strong man first? Only then can he take things from his house. The Sin That Cannot Be Forgiven

30 A i không ở với ta, thì nghịch cùng ta; ai không thâu hiệp với ta, thì tan ra.

“Whoever is not with Me is against Me. Whoever is not gathering with Me is sending everywhere.

31 A áy vậy, ta phán cùng các ngươi, các tội lỗi và lời phạm thượng của người ta đều sẽ được tha; song lời phạm thượng đến Đức Thánh Linh thì sẽ chẳng được tha đâu.

I tell you, every sin and every bad word men speak against God will be forgiven, but bad words spoken against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

32 N ếu ai nói phạm đến Con người, thì sẽ được tha; song nếu ai nói phạm đến Đức Thánh Linh, thì dầu đời nầy hay đời sau cũng sẽ chẳng được tha.

Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven in this life or in the life to come. The Sin of Saying Bad Things

33 H oặc cho là cây tốt thì trái cũng tốt, hoặc cho là cây xấu thì trái cũng xấu; vì xem trái thì biết cây.

“A good tree gives good fruit. A bad tree gives bad fruit. A tree is known by its fruit.

34 H ỡi dòng dõi rắn lục; bay vốn là loài xấu, làm sao nói được sự tốt? Bởi vì do sự đầy dẫy trong lòng mà miệng mới nói ra.

You family of snakes! How can you say good things when you are sinful? The mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

35 N gười lành do nơi đã chứa điều thiện mà phát ra điều thiện; nhưng kẻ dữ do nơi đã chứa điều ác mà phát ra điều ác.

A good man will speak good things because of the good in him. A bad man will speak bad things because of the sin in him.

36 V ả, ta bảo các ngươi, đến ngày phán xét, người ta sẽ khai ra mọi lời hư không mà mình đã nói;

I say to you, on the day men stand before God, they will have to give an answer for every word they have spoken that was not important.

37 v ì bởi lời nói mà ngươi sẽ được xưng là công bình, cũng bởi lời nói mà ngươi sẽ bị phạt.

For it is by your words that you will not be guilty and it is by your words that you will be guilty.” Jesus Tells about Jonah

38 B ấy giờ có mấy thầy thông giáo và người Pha-ri-si thưa cùng Đức Chúa Jêsus rằng: Bẩm thầy, chúng tôi muốn xem thầy làm dấu lạ.

Then some of the teachers of the Law and the proud religious law-keepers said to Jesus, “Teacher, we would like to have you do something special for us to see.”

39 N gài đáp rằng: Dòng dõi hung ác gian dâm này xin một dấu lạ, nhưng sẽ chẳng cho dấu lạ khác ngoài dấu lạ của đấng tiên tri Giô-na.

He said to them, “The sinful people of this day look for something special to see. There will be nothing special to see but the powerful works of the early preacher Jonah.

40 V ì Giô-na đã bị ở trong bụng cá lớn ba ngày ba đêm, cũng một thể ấy, Con người sẽ ở trong lòng đất ba ngày ba đêm.

Jonah was three days and three nights in the stomach of a big fish. The Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the grave also.

41 Đ ến ngày phán xét, dân thành Ni-ni-ve sẽ đứng dậy với dòng dõi nầy mà lên án nó, vì dân ấy đã nghe lời Giô-na giảng và ăn năn; mà đây nầy, có một người tôn trọng hơn Giô-na!

The men of the city of Nineveh will stand up with the people of this day on the day men stand before God. Those men will say these people are guilty because the men of Nineveh were sorry for their sins and turned from them when Jonah preached. And see, Someone greater than Jonah is here!

42 Đ ến ngày phán xét, nữ hoàng nam phương sẽ đứng dậy với dòng dõi nầy mà lên án nó, vì người từ nơi cùng trái đất đến nghe lời khôn ngoan vua Sa-lô-môn; mà đây nầy, có một người tôn trọng hơn vua Sa-lô-môn!

“The queen of the south will stand up with the people of this day on the day men stand before God. She will say that these people are guilty because she came from the ends of the earth to listen to the wise sayings of Solomon. And see, Someone greater than Solomon is here! A Person Filled with Bad or Good

43 K hi tà ma ra khỏi một người, thì nó đi đến nơi khô khan kiếm chỗ nghỉ, nhưng kiếm không được;

“When a demon is gone out of a man, it goes through dry places to find rest. It finds none.

44 r ồi nó nói rằng: Ta sẽ trở về nhà ta mà ta mới ra khỏi; khi trở về, thấy nhà không, quét sạch, và sửa soạn tử tế.

Then it says, ‘I will go back into my house from which I came.’ When it goes back, it sees that it is empty. But it sees that the house has been cleaned and looks good.

45 N ó bèn lại đi, đem về bảy quỉ khác dữ hơn nó nữa, cùng vào nhà đó mà ở; vậy số phận người ấy sau lại xấu hơn trước. Dòng dõi dữ nầy cũng như vậy.

Then it goes out and comes back bringing with it seven demons more sinful than itself. They go in and live there. In the end that man is worse than at first. It will be like this with the sinful people of this day.” The New Kind of Family

46 K hi Đức Chúa Jêsus còn phán cùng dân chúng, thì mẹ và anh em Ngài đến đứng ngoài, muốn nói cùng Ngài.

While Jesus was still talking to the people, His mother and His brothers came and stood outside. They wanted to talk to Him.

47 C ó người thưa cùng Ngài rằng: Đây nầy, mẹ và anh em thầy ở ngoài, muốn nói cùng thầy.

Someone said to Him, “Your mother and brothers are outside and want to talk to you.”

48 N gài đáp rằng: Ai là mẹ ta, ai là anh em ta?

Jesus said, “Who is My mother? And who are My brothers?”

49 N gài giơ tay chỉ các môn đồ mình, mà phán rằng: Nầy là mẹ ta cùng anh em ta!

He put out His hand to His followers and said, “See, these are My mother and My brothers!

50 V ì hễ ai làm theo ý muốn Cha ta ở trên trời, thì người đó là anh em, chị em ta, cùng là mẹ ta vậy.

Whoever does what My father in heaven wants him to do is My brother and My sister and My mother.”
