1 L ần khác, Đức Chúa Jêsus vào nhà hội, ở đó có một người nam teo bàn tay.

Jesus went into the Jewish place of worship again. A man was there with a dried-up hand.

2 C húng rình xem thử Ngài có chữa người đó trong ngày Sa-bát chăng, đặng cáo Ngài.

The proud religious law-keepers watched Jesus to see if He would heal the man on the Day of Rest. They wanted to have something to say against Jesus.

3 N gài phán cùng người teo tay rằng: hãy dậy, đứng chính giữa đây.

Jesus said to the man with the dried-up hand, “Stand up.”

4 r ồi Ngài hỏi họ rằng: trong ngày Sa-bát, nên làm việc lành hay việc dữ, cứu người hay giết người? Nhưng họ đều nín lặng.

Then Jesus said to the proud religious law-keepers, “Does the Law say to do good on the Day of Rest or to do bad, to save life or to kill?” But they said nothing.

5 B ấy giờ, Ngài lấy mắt liếc họ, vừa giận vừa buồn vì lòng họ cứng cỏi, rồi phán cùng người nam rằng: hãy giơ tay ra. Người giơ ra, thì tay được lành.

Jesus looked around at them with anger. He was sad because of their hard hearts. Then He said to the man, “Put out your hand.” He put it out and his hand was healed. It was as good as the other.

6 C ác người Pha-ri-si đi ra, tức thì bàn luận với phe Hê-rốt nghịch cùng Ngài, đặng giết Ngài đi.

The proud religious law-keepers went out and made plans with the followers of King Herod how they might kill Jesus. Jesus Heals by the Sea-Shore

7 Đ ức Chúa Jêsus cùng môn đồ Ngài lánh ra nơi bờ biển, có đoàn dân đông lắm từ xứ Ga-li-lê đến theo Ngài. Từ xứ Giu-đê,

Jesus went with His followers to the sea. Many people followed Him from the countries of Galilee and Judea.

8 t hành Giê-ru-sa-lem, xứ Y-đu-mê, xứ bên kia sông Giô-đanh, miền xung quanh thành Ty-rơ và thành Si-đôn cũng vậy, dân đông lắm, nghe nói mọi việc Ngài làm, thì đều đến cùng Ngài.

They followed from Jerusalem and from the country of Idumea. They came from the other side of the Jordan River and from the cities of Tyre and Sidon. Many people heard all that Jesus was doing and came to Him.

9 B ởi cớ dân đông, nên Ngài biểu môn đồ sắm cho mình một chiếc thuyền nhỏ sẵn sàng, đặng cho khỏi bị chúng lấn ép Ngài quá.

He told His followers to have a small boat ready for Him because so many people might push Him down.

10 V ì Ngài đã chữa lành nhiều kẻ bịnh, nên nỗi ai nấy có bịnh chi cũng đều áp đến gần để rờ Ngài.

He had healed so many that the sick people were pushing in on Him. They were trying to put their hands on Him.

11 K hi tà ma thấy Ngài, bèn sấp mình xuống nơi chơn Ngài mà kêu lên rằng: Thầy là Con Đức Chúa Trời!

When demons saw Him, they got down at His feet and cried out, “You are the Son of God!”

12 S ong Ngài nghiêm cấm chúng nó chớ tỏ cho ai biết mình.

He spoke strong words that the demons should tell no one Who He was. Jesus Calls His Twelve Followers

13 K ế đó, Đức Chúa Jêsus lên trên núi, đòi những người Ngài muốn, thì những người ấy đến kề Ngài.

He went up on a mountain and called those He wanted. They followed Him.

14 N gài bèn lập mười hai người, gọi là sứ đồ, để ở cùng Ngài và sai đi giảng đạo,

He picked out twelve followers to be with Him so He might send them out to preach.

15 l ại ban cho quyền phép đuổi quỉ.

They would have the right and the power to heal diseases and to put out demons.

16 N ầy là mười hai sứ đồ Ngài đã lập: Si-môn, Ngài đặt tên là Phi -e-rơ;

Jesus gave Simon another name, Peter.

17 G ia-cơ con Xê-bê-đê, và Giăng em Gia-cơ, Ngài đặt tên hai người là Bô -a-nẹt, nghĩa là con trai của sấm sét;

James and John were brothers. They were the sons of Zebedee. He named them Boanerges, which means, The Sons of Thunder.

18 A nh-rê, Phi-líp, Ba-thê-lê-my, Ma-thi -ơ, Thô-ma, Gia-cơ con A-phê, Tha-đê, Si-môn là người Ca-na-an,

The others were Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Canaanite,

19 v à Giu-đa Ích-ca-ri-ốt, chính tên nầy đã phản Ngài.

and Judas Iscariot. Judas was the one who handed Jesus over to be killed. The Family of Jesus Holds Him Back

20 Đ ức Chúa Jêsus cùng môn đồ vào trong một cái nhà; đoàn dân lại nhóm họp tại đó, đến nỗi Ngài và môn đồ không ăn được.

When Jesus came into a house, many people gathered around Him again. Jesus and His followers could not even eat.

21 N hững bạn hữu Ngài nghe vậy, bèn đến để cầm giữ Ngài; vì người ta nói Ngài đã mất trí khôn.

When His family heard of it, they went to take Him. They said, “He must be crazy.” A Nation That Cannot Stand

22 C ó các thầy thông giáo ở thành Giê-ru-sa-lem xuống, nói rằng: Người bị quỉ Bê-ên-xê-bun ám, và nhờ phép chúa quỉ mà trừ quỉ.

Teachers of the Law came down from Jerusalem. They said, “Jesus has Satan in Him. This Man puts out demons by the king of demons.”

23 S ong Đức Chúa Jêsus kêu họ đến, dùng lời thí dụ mà phán rằng: Sao quỉ Sa-tan đuổi được quỉ Sa-tan?

Jesus called them to Him and spoke to them in picture-stories. He said, “How can the devil put out the devil?

24 N ếu một nước tự chia nhau, thì nước ấy không thể còn được;

A nation cannot last if it is divided against itself.

25 l ại nếu một nhà tự chia nhau, thì nhà ấy không thể còn được.

A family cannot last if it is divided against itself.

26 V ậy, nếu quỉ Sa-tan tự dấy lên nghịch cùng mình, tất nó bị chia xẻ ra, không thể còn được; song nó đã gần đến cùng rồi.

If the devil fights against himself and is divided, he cannot last. He will come to an end.

27 C hẳng ai có thể vào nhà một người mạnh sức cướp lấy của người, mà trước hết không trói người lại; phải trói người lại, rồi mới cướp nhà người được.

No man can go into a strong man’s house and take away his things, unless he ties up the strong man first. Only then can he take things from his house.

28 Q uả thật, ta nói cùng các ngươi, mọi tội lỗi sẽ tha cho con cái loài người, và hết thảy những lời phạm thượng họ sẽ nói ra cũng vậy;

For sure, I tell you, all sins will be forgiven people, and bad things they speak against God.

29 n hưng ai sẽ nói phạm đến Đức Thánh Linh thì chẳng hề được tha, phải mắc tội đời đời.

But if anyone speaks bad things against the Holy Spirit, he will never be forgiven. He is guilty of a sin that lasts forever.”

30 N gài phán như vậy, vì họ nói rằng: Người bị tà ma ám.

Jesus told them this because they said, “He has a demon.” The New Kind of Family

31 M ẹ và anh em Ngài đến, đứng ngoài sai kêu Ngài. Đoàn dân vẫn ngồi chung quanh Ngài.

Then His mother and brothers came and stood outside. They sent for Jesus.

32 C ó kẻ thưa rằng: Nầy, mẹ và anh em thầy ở ngoài kia đương tìm thầy.

Many people were sitting around Him. They said, “See! Your mother and brothers are outside looking for You.”

33 S ong Ngài phán cùng họ rằng: Ai là mẹ ta, ai là anh em ta?

He said to them, “Who is My mother or My brothers?”

34 N gài đưa mắt liếc những kẻ ngồi chung quanh mình mà phán rằng: Kìa là mẹ ta và anh em ta!

He turned to those sitting around Him and said, “See! My mother and My brothers!

35 A i làm theo ý muốn Đức Chúa Trời, nấy là anh em, chị em, và mẹ ta vậy.

Whoever does what My Father wants is My brother and My sister and My mother.”
