1 N aquela ocasião Jesus passou pelas lavouras de cereal no sábado. Seus discípulos estavam com fome e começaram a colher espigas para comê-las.

At that time Jesus walked through the grain-fields on the Day of Rest. His followers were hungry and began to pick off grain to eat.

2 O s fariseus, vendo aquilo, lhe disseram: “Olha, os teus discípulos estão fazendo o que não é permitido no sábado”.

The proud religious law-keepers saw this. They said to Jesus, “See! Your followers do what the Law says not to do on the Day of Rest.”

3 E le respondeu: “Vocês não leram o que fez Davi quando ele e seus companheiros estavam com fome?

He said to them, “Have you not read what David did when he and his men were hungry?

4 E le entrou na casa de Deus e, junto com os seus companheiros, comeu os pães da Presença, o que não lhes era permitido fazer, mas apenas aos sacerdotes.

He went into the house of God and ate the special bread used in worship which was against the Law for him or those with him to eat! Only the Jewish religious leaders were to eat that special bread.

5 O u vocês não leram na Lei que, no sábado, os sacerdotes no templo profanam esse dia e, contudo, ficam sem culpa?

Have you not read in the Law how the religious leaders do that which is not right to do on the Day of Rest, and yet they are not guilty?

6 E u lhes digo que aqui está o que é maior do que o templo.

I tell you that Someone greater than the house of God is here.

7 S e vocês soubessem o que significam estas palavras: ‘Desejo misericórdia, não sacrifícios’, não teriam condenado inocentes.

If you had understood what the words mean, ‘I want loving-kindness and not a gift to be given,’ you would not say a person is guilty who has done no wrong.

8 P ois o Filho do homem é Senhor do sábado”.

For the Son of Man is Lord of the Day of Rest.” Jesus Heals on the Day of Rest

9 S aindo daquele lugar, dirigiu-se à sinagoga deles,

From there Jesus went into their place of worship.

10 e estava ali um homem com uma das mãos atrofiada. Procurando um motivo para acusar Jesus, eles lhe perguntaram: “É permitido curar no sábado?”

A man was there with a dried-up hand. The proud religious law-keepers asked Jesus, “Does the Law say it is right to heal on the Day of Rest?” They wanted something to say against Him.

11 E le lhes respondeu: “Qual de vocês, se tiver uma ovelha e ela cair num buraco no sábado, não irá pegá-la e tirá-la de lá?

He said to them, “If one of you has a sheep which falls into a hole on the Day of Rest, will you not take hold of it and pull it out?

12 Q uanto mais vale um homem do que uma ovelha! Portanto, é permitido fazer o bem no sábado”.

How much better is a man than a sheep! So it is right to do good on the Day of Rest.”

13 E ntão ele disse ao homem: “Estenda a mão”. Ele a estendeu, e ela foi restaurada, e ficou boa como a outra.

Then He said to the man, “Put out your hand.” He held it out and it was made as well as the other.

14 E ntão os fariseus saíram e começaram a conspirar sobre como poderiam matar Jesus. O Servo Escolhido de Deus

The proud religious law-keepers went out and made plans against Him. They planned how they might kill Him. Jesus Heals Many People

15 S abendo disso, Jesus retirou-se daquele lugar. Muitos o seguiram, e ele curou todos os doentes que havia entre eles,

Jesus knew this and went away from there. Many people followed Him and He healed all of them.

16 a dvertindo-os que não dissessem quem ele era.

He told them to tell no one of Him.

17 I sso aconteceu para se cumprir o que fora dito por meio do profeta Isaías:

It happened as the early preacher Isaiah said it would happen, saying,

18 “ Eis o meu servo, a quem escolhi, o meu amado, em quem tenho prazer. Porei sobre ele o meu Espírito, e ele anunciará justiça às nações.

“See! My Servant Whom I have chosen! My much Loved, in Whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit in Him. He will say to the nations what is right from wrong.

19 N ão discutirá nem gritará; ninguém ouvirá sua voz nas ruas.

He will not fight or speak with a loud voice. No man will hear His voice in the streets.

20 N ão quebrará o caniço rachado, não apagará o pavio fumegante, até que leve à vitória a justiça.

He will not break a broken branch. He will not put out a little fire until He makes things right.

21 E m seu nome as nações porão sua esperança”. A Acusação contra Jesus

In His name the nations will have hope.” A Nation That Cannot Stand

22 D epois disso, levaram-lhe um endemoninhado que era cego e mudo, e Jesus o curou, de modo que ele pôde falar e ver.

Then they brought to Him a man who had a demon. He was blind and could not speak. Jesus healed him and he could talk and see.

23 T odo o povo ficou atônito e disse: “Não será este o Filho de Davi?”

All the people were surprised and said, “Can this Man be the Son of David?”

24 M as quando os fariseus ouviram isso, disseram: “É somente por Belzebu, o príncipe dos demônios, que ele expulsa demônios”.

But when the proud religious law-keepers heard it, they said, “This Man puts out demons only by Satan, the leader of demons.”

25 J esus, conhecendo os seus pensamentos, disse-lhes: “Todo reino dividido contra si mesmo será arruinado, e toda cidade ou casa dividida contra si mesma não subsistirá.

Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every nation divided into groups that fight each other is going to be destroyed. Every city or family divided into groups that fight each other will not stand.

26 S e Satanás expulsa Satanás, está dividido contra si mesmo. Como, então, subsistirá seu reino?

If the devil puts out the devil, he is divided against himself. How will his nation stand?

27 E se eu expulso demônios por Belzebu, por quem os expulsam os filhos de vocês? Por isso, eles mesmos serão juízes sobre vocês.

If I put out demons by Satan, by whom do your followers put them out? So your followers will say if you are guilty.

28 M as se é pelo Espírito de Deus que eu expulso demônios, então chegou a vocês o Reino de Deus.

But if I put out demons by the Spirit of God, then the holy nation of God is come to you.

29 “ Ou, como alguém pode entrar na casa do homem forte e levar dali seus bens, sem antes amarrá-lo? Só então poderá roubar a casa dele.

How can anyone go into a strong man’s house and take away his things, unless he ties up the strong man first? Only then can he take things from his house. The Sin That Cannot Be Forgiven

30 “ Aquele que não está comigo, está contra mim; e aquele que comigo não ajunta, espalha.

“Whoever is not with Me is against Me. Whoever is not gathering with Me is sending everywhere.

31 P or esse motivo eu lhes digo: Todo pecado e blasfêmia serão perdoados aos homens, mas a blasfêmia contra o Espírito não será perdoada.

I tell you, every sin and every bad word men speak against God will be forgiven, but bad words spoken against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

32 T odo aquele que disser uma palavra contra o Filho do homem será perdoado, mas quem falar contra o Espírito Santo não será perdoado, nem nesta era nem na que há de vir.

Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven in this life or in the life to come. The Sin of Saying Bad Things

33 “ Considerem: Uma árvore boa dá fruto bom, e uma árvore ruim dá fruto ruim, pois uma árvore é conhecida por seu fruto.

“A good tree gives good fruit. A bad tree gives bad fruit. A tree is known by its fruit.

34 R aça de víboras, como podem vocês, que são maus, dizer coisas boas? Pois a boca fala do que está cheio o coração.

You family of snakes! How can you say good things when you are sinful? The mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

35 O homem bom do seu bom tesouro tira coisas boas, e o homem mau do seu mau tesouro tira coisas más.

A good man will speak good things because of the good in him. A bad man will speak bad things because of the sin in him.

36 M as eu lhes digo que, no dia do juízo, os homens haverão de dar conta de toda palavra inútil que tiverem falado.

I say to you, on the day men stand before God, they will have to give an answer for every word they have spoken that was not important.

37 P ois por suas palavras vocês serão absolvidos, e por suas palavras serão condenados”. O Sinal de Jonas

For it is by your words that you will not be guilty and it is by your words that you will be guilty.” Jesus Tells about Jonah

38 E ntão alguns dos fariseus e mestres da lei lhe disseram: “Mestre, queremos ver um sinal miraculoso feito por ti”.

Then some of the teachers of the Law and the proud religious law-keepers said to Jesus, “Teacher, we would like to have you do something special for us to see.”

39 E le respondeu: “Uma geração perversa e adúltera pede um sinal miraculoso! Mas nenhum sinal lhe será dado, exceto o sinal do profeta Jonas.

He said to them, “The sinful people of this day look for something special to see. There will be nothing special to see but the powerful works of the early preacher Jonah.

40 P ois assim como Jonas esteve três dias e três noites no ventre de um grande peixe, assim o Filho do homem ficará três dias e três noites no coração da terra.

Jonah was three days and three nights in the stomach of a big fish. The Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the grave also.

41 O s homens de Nínive se levantarão no juízo com esta geração e a condenarão; pois eles se arrependeram com a pregação de Jonas, e agora está aqui o que é maior do que Jonas.

The men of the city of Nineveh will stand up with the people of this day on the day men stand before God. Those men will say these people are guilty because the men of Nineveh were sorry for their sins and turned from them when Jonah preached. And see, Someone greater than Jonah is here!

42 A rainha do Sul se levantará no juízo com esta geração e a condenará, pois ela veio dos confins da terra para ouvir a sabedoria de Salomão, e agora está aqui o que é maior do que Salomão.

“The queen of the south will stand up with the people of this day on the day men stand before God. She will say that these people are guilty because she came from the ends of the earth to listen to the wise sayings of Solomon. And see, Someone greater than Solomon is here! A Person Filled with Bad or Good

43 “ Quando um espírito imundo sai de um homem, passa por lugares áridos procurando descanso. Como não o encontra,

“When a demon is gone out of a man, it goes through dry places to find rest. It finds none.

44 d iz: ‘Voltarei para a casa de onde saí’. Chegando, encontra a casa desocupada, varrida e em ordem.

Then it says, ‘I will go back into my house from which I came.’ When it goes back, it sees that it is empty. But it sees that the house has been cleaned and looks good.

45 E ntão vai e traz consigo outros sete espíritos piores do que ele, e, entrando, passam a viver ali. E o estado final daquele homem torna-se pior do que o primeiro. Assim acontecerá a esta geração perversa”. A Mãe e os Irmãos de Jesus

Then it goes out and comes back bringing with it seven demons more sinful than itself. They go in and live there. In the end that man is worse than at first. It will be like this with the sinful people of this day.” The New Kind of Family

46 F alava ainda Jesus à multidão quando sua mãe e seus irmãos chegaram do lado de fora, querendo falar com ele.

While Jesus was still talking to the people, His mother and His brothers came and stood outside. They wanted to talk to Him.

47 A lguém lhe disse: “Tua mãe e teus irmãos estão lá fora e querem falar contigo”.

Someone said to Him, “Your mother and brothers are outside and want to talk to you.”

48 “ Quem é minha mãe, e quem são meus irmãos?”, perguntou ele.

Jesus said, “Who is My mother? And who are My brothers?”

49 E , estendendo a mão para os discípulos, disse: “Aqui estão minha mãe e meus irmãos!

He put out His hand to His followers and said, “See, these are My mother and My brothers!

50 P ois quem faz a vontade de meu Pai que está nos céus, este é meu irmão, minha irmã e minha mãe”.

Whoever does what My father in heaven wants him to do is My brother and My sister and My mother.”
