1 A leluia! Como é bom cantar louvores ao nosso Deus! Como é agradável e próprio louvá-lo!

Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God. For it is pleasing and praise is right.

2 O Senhor edifica Jerusalém; ele reúne os exilados de Israel.

The Lord builds up Jerusalem. He gathers those of Israel who had been taken away.

3 S ó ele cura os de coração quebrantado e cuida das suas feridas.

He heals those who have a broken heart. He heals their sorrows.

4 E le determina o número de estrelas e chama cada uma pelo nome.

He knows the number of the stars. He gives names to all of them.

5 G rande é o nosso Soberano e tremendo é o seu poder; é impossível medir o seu entendimento.

Great is our Lord, and great in power. His understanding has no end.

6 O Senhor sustém o oprimido, mas lança por terra o ímpio.

The Lord lifts up those who are suffering, and He brings the sinful down to the ground.

7 C antem ao Senhor com ações de graças; ao som da harpa façam música para o nosso Deus.

Sing to the Lord with thanks. Sing praises to our God on the harp.

8 E le cobre o céu de nuvens, concede chuvas à terra e faz crescer a relva nas colinas.

He covers the heavens with clouds. He gives rain for the earth. He makes grass grow on the mountains.

9 E le dá alimento aos animais, e aos filhotes dos corvos quando gritam de fome.

He gives food to the animals, and to the young ravens that cry.

10 N ão é a força do cavalo que lhe dá satisfação, nem é a agilidade do homem que lhe agrada;

His joy is not in the strength of a horse. He does not find joy in the legs of a man.

11 o Senhor se agrada dos que o temem, dos que colocam sua esperança no seu amor leal.

But the Lord favors those who fear Him and those who wait for His loving-kindness.

12 E xalte o Senhor, ó Jerusalém! Louve o seu Deus, ó Sião,

Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion!

13 p ois ele reforçou as trancas de suas portas e abençoou o seu povo, que lá habita.

For He has made your gates strong. He has made good come to your children within you.

14 É ele que mantém as suas fronteiras em segurança e que a supre do melhor do trigo.

He makes peace within your walls. He fills you with the best grain.

15 E le envia sua ordem à terra, e sua palavra corre veloz.

He sends His Word to the earth. And His Word runs fast.

16 F az cair a neve como lã, e espalha a geada como cinza.

He gives snow like wool. He spreads ice like ashes.

17 F az cair o gelo como se fosse pedra. Quem pode suportar o seu frio?

He throws down His ice as hail stones. Who can stand before His cold?

18 E le envia a sua palavra, e o gelo derrete; envia o seu sopro, e as águas tornam a correr.

He sends out His Word and melts them. He makes His wind blow and the waters flow.

19 E le revela a sua palavra a Jacó, os seus decretos e ordenanças a Israel.

He speaks His Word to Jacob, and His Law to Israel.

20 E le não fez isso a nenhuma outra nação; todas as outras desconhecem as suas ordenanças. Aleluia!

He has not done this with any other nation. They do not know His Law. Praise the Lord!
