Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, and Jedaiah. These were the heads of the religious leaders and their brothers in the days of Jeshua.

8 O s levitas foram Jesua, Binui, Cadmiel, Serebias, Judá, e também Matanias, o qual, com seus colegas, estava encarregado dos cânticos de ações de graças.

The Levites were Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, who with his brothers was over the songs of giving thanks.

9 B aquebuquias e Uni, seus colegas, ficavam em frente deles para responder-lhes.

Bakbukiah and Unni, their brothers, stood beside them in their work.

10 J esua foi o pai de Joiaquim, Joiaquim foi o pai de Eliasibe, Eliasibe foi o pai de Joiada,

Jeshua was the father of Joiakim. Joiakim was the father of Eliashib. Eliashib was the father of Joiada.

Joiada was the father of Jonathan. Jonathan was the father of Jaddua.

22 N os dias de Eliasibe, os chefes das famílias dos levitas e dos sacerdotes, Joiada, Joanã e Jadua, foram registrados durante o reinado de Dario, o persa.

As for the Levites, in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, Johanan, and Jaddua, the heads of the family groups were written down. So were the religious leaders in the rule of Darius the Persian.

23 O s chefes das famílias dos descendentes de Levi até a época de Joanã, filho de Eliasibe, foram registrados no livro das crônicas.

The sons of Levi, the heads of the family groups, were written down in the Book of the Chronicles until the days of Johanan the son of Eliashib.

24 O s líderes dos levitas foram Hasabias, Serebias, Jesua, filho de Cadmiel, e seus colegas, que ficavam em frente deles quando entoavam louvores e ações de graças; um grupo respondia ao outro, conforme prescrito por Davi, homem de Deus.

The heads of the Levites were Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brothers beside them. Each group praised and gave thanks, as David the man of God had told them.

25 M atanias, Baquebuquias, Obadias, Mesulão, Talmom e Acube eram porteiros; vigiavam os depósitos localizados junto às portas.

Mattaniah, Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon and Akkub were gate-keepers. They watched at the store-houses of the gates.

26 E les serviram nos dias de Joiaquim, filho de Jesua, neto de Jozadaque, e nos dias do governador Neemias e de Esdras, sacerdote e escriba. A Dedicação dos Muros de Jerusalém

These men worked in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the ruler and of Ezra the religious leader and writer. Nehemiah Sets Apart the Jerusalem Wall for God

27 P or ocasião da dedicação dos muros de Jerusalém, os levitas foram procurados e trazidos de onde moravam para Jerusalém para celebrarem a dedicação alegremente, com cânticos e ações de graças, ao som de címbalos, harpas e liras.

At the special time to praise God for the wall of Jerusalem, they looked for all the Levites in the places where they lived and brought them to Jerusalem so they might join them at this special time with happiness. They sang songs of thanks and other songs as timbrels and harps were played.

28 O s cantores foram trazidos dos arredores de Jerusalém, dos povoados dos netofatitas,

So the sons of the singers were gathered from the land around Jerusalem, from the villages of the Nethophathites,

from Beth-gilgal, and from their fields in Geba and Azmaveth. For the singers had built villages for themselves around Jerusalem.

30 O s sacerdotes e os levitas se purificaram cerimonialmente, e depois purificaram também o povo, as portas e os muros.

The religious leaders and the Levites made themselves holy, and they made the people, the gates, and the wall holy.

31 O rdenei aos líderes de Judá que subissem ao alto do muro. Também designei dois grandes coros para darem graças. Um deles avançou em cima do muro, para a direita, até a porta do Esterco.

Then I had the leaders of Judah come up on top of the wall. And I picked two large groups of singers to give thanks. One group was to go to the right on top of the wall to the Waste Gate.

32 H osaías e metade dos líderes de Judá os seguiram.

Hoshaiah and half of the leaders of Judah followed them,

33 A zarias, Esdras, Mesulão,

with Azariah, Ezra, Meshullam,

34 J udá, Benjamim, Semaías, Jeremias,

Judah, Benjamin, Shemaiah, Jeremiah,

35 e alguns sacerdotes com trombetas, além de Zacarias, filho de Jônatas, neto de Semaías, bisneto de Matanias, que era filho de Micaías, neto de Zacur, bisneto de Asafe,

and some of the sons of the religious leaders blowing horns. Then followed Zechariah the son of Jonathan, son of Shemaiah, son of Mattaniah, son of Micaiah, son of Zaccur, son of Asaph,

36 e seus colegas, Semaías, Azareel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Natanael, Judá e Hanani, que tocavam os instrumentos musicais prescritos por Davi, homem de Deus. Esdras, o escriba, ia à frente deles.

and his brothers, Shemaiah, Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, Judah, and Hanani, with the objects that David the man of God had made for playing music. And Ezra the writer went before them.

37 À porta da Fonte eles subiram diretamente os degraus da Cidade de Davi, na subida para o muro, e passaram sobre a casa de Davi até a porta das Águas, a leste.

At the Well Gate they went straight up the steps of the city of David, by the steps of the wall above the house of David, to the Water Gate on the east.

38 O segundo coro avançou no sentido oposto. Eu os acompanhei, quando iam sobre o muro, levando comigo a metade do povo; passamos pela torre dos Fornos até a porta Larga,

The second group went to the left. I followed them with half of the people on the wall, above the Tower of Stoves, to the Wide Wall.

39 s obre a porta de Efraim, a porta Jesana, a porta do Peixe, a torre de Hananeel e a torre dos Cem, indo até a porta das Ovelhas. Junto à porta da Guarda paramos.

They went above the Gate of Ephraim, by the Old Gate, the Fish Gate, the Tower of Hananel, and the Tower of the Hundred, as far as the Sheep Gate. And they stopped at the Gate of the Watchmen.

40 O s dois coros encarregados das ações de graças assumiram os seus lugares no templo de Deus, o que também fiz, acompanhado da metade dos oficiais

Then the two groups stood in the house of God. So did I and half of the leaders with me,

41 e dos sacerdotes Eliaquim, Maaséias, Miniamim, Micaías, Elioenai, Zacarias e Hananias, com suas trombetas,

and the religious leaders, Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with the horns,

42 a lém de Maaséias, Semaías, Eleazar, Uzi, Joanã, Malquias, Elão e Ézer. Os coros cantaram sob a direção de Jezraías.

and Maaseiah, Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Jehohanan, Malchijah, Elam, and Ezer. And the singers sang with Jezrahiah as their leader.

43 E naquele dia, contentes como estavam, ofereceram grandes sacrifícios, pois Deus os enchera de grande alegria. As mulheres e as crianças também se alegraram, e os sons da alegria de Jerusalém podiam ser ouvidos de longe.

On that day they gave many good gifts and were glad because God had given them great joy. Even the women and children were filled with joy, so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard from far away.

44 N aquela ocasião foram designados alguns encarregados dos depósitos onde se recebiam as contribuições gerais, os primeiros frutos e os dízimos. Das lavouras que havia em torno das cidades eles deveriam trazer para os depósitos as porções exigidas pela Lei para os sacerdotes e para os levitas. E, de fato, o povo de Judá estava satisfeito com os sacerdotes e os levitas que ministravam no templo.

On that day men were chosen for the work of the store-rooms for the gifts, the first-fruits, and the tenth part for the Lord. They were to gather into them from the fields near the towns what was to be given by the Law to the religious leaders and Levites. For Judah was filled with joy because of the religious leaders and Levites who did the work.

45 E les celebravam o culto ao seu Deus e o ritual de purificação, dos quais também participavam os cantores e os porteiros, de acordo com as ordens de Davi e do seu filho Salomão.

They did the work of their God and the work of making everything clean from sin, together with the singers and the gate-keepers. They did as David and his son Solomon had told them.

46 P ois muito tempo antes, nos dias de Davi e de Asafe, havia dirigentes dos cantores e pessoas que dirigiam os cânticos de louvor e de graças a Deus.

For in the days of David and Asaph, long ago, there were leaders of the singers, and songs of praise and thanks to God.

47 A ssim, nos dias de Zorobabel e de Neemias, todo o Israel contribuía com ofertas diárias para os cantores e para os porteiros. Também separavam a parte pertencente aos outros levitas, e os levitas separavam a porção dos descendentes de Arão.

So all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel and Nehemiah gave what was to be given to the singers and gate-keepers each day. They set apart what was for the Levites. And the Levites set apart what was for the sons of Aaron.
