1 Q uando Balaão viu que agradava ao Senhor abençoar Israel, não recorreu à magia como nas outras vezes, mas voltou o rosto para o deserto.

Balaam saw that it pleased the Lord to speak good of Israel. So he did not go, as at other times, and look for special things to see. Instead he looked toward the desert.

2 E ntão viu Israel acampado, tribo por tribo; e o Espírito de Deus veio sobre ele,

Balaam looked up and saw Israel living in their tents by their families. And the Spirit of God came upon him.

3 e ele pronunciou este oráculo: “Palavra de Balaão, filho de Beor, palavra daquele cujos olhos vêem claramente,

He began speaking and said, “Balaam the son of Beor is the man whose eye is opened.

4 p alavra daquele que ouve as palavras de Deus, daquele que vê a visão que vem do Todo-poderoso, daquele que cai prostrado e vê com clareza:

He hears the words of God. He sees what the All-powerful wants him to see. He falls down, but has his eyes open.

5 “ Quão belas são as suas tendas, ó Jacó, as suas habitações, ó Israel!

How fair are your tents, O Jacob, and your homes, O Israel!

6 C omo vales estendem-se, como jardins que margeiam rios, como aloés plantados pelo Senhor, como cedros junto às águas.

They are like valleys that spread out, and like gardens beside the river. They are like aloes planted by the Lord, and like cedars beside the waters.

7 S eus reservatórios de água transbordarão; suas lavouras serão bem irrigadas. “O seu rei será maior do que Agague; o seu reino será exaltado.

Water will flow from his pails. His seed will be by many waters. His king will be more powerful than Agag, and his nation will be honored.

8 D eus os está trazendo do Egito; eles têm a força do boi selvagem. Devoram nações inimigas e despedaçam seus ossos; com suas flechas os atravessam.

God brings him out of Egypt. He is for him like the horns of the wild bull. He will destroy the nations who fight against him. He will crush their bones in pieces and cut through them with his arrows.

9 C omo o leão e a leoa eles se abaixam e se deitam, quem ousará despertá-los? Sejam abençoados os que os abençoarem, e amaldiçoados os que os amaldiçoarem!”

He bows down. He lies down like a lion. And as a lion, who will wake him? Good will come to everyone who prays for you. And cursed is everyone who curses you.”

10 E ntão acendeu-se a ira de Balaque contra Balaão, e, batendo as palmas das mãos, disse: “Eu o chamei para amaldiçoar meus inimigos, mas você já os abençoou três vezes!

Then Balak’s anger burned against Balaam, and he hit his hands together. Balak said to Balaam, “I called you to curse those who hate me. But see, you have done nothing but pray that good would come to them these three times!

11 A gora, fuja para a sua casa! Eu disse que lhe daria generosa recompensa, mas o Senhor o impediu de recebê-la”.

So now run away to your place. I said I would give you much honor, but the Lord has kept you from honor.”

12 M as Balaão respondeu a Balaque: “Eu não disse aos mensageiros que você me enviou:

Then Balaam said to Balak, “Did I not tell the men you had sent to me,

13 M esmo que Balaque me desse o seu palácio cheio de prata e de ouro, eu não poderia fazer coisa alguma de minha própria vontade, boa ou má, que vá além da ordem do Senhor, e devo dizer somente o que o Senhor disser.

‘Even if Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot do anything against the Word of the Lord’? I said, ‘I cannot do good or bad because I want to. What the Lord says, I will say.’

14 A gora estou voltando para o meu povo, mas venha, deixe-me adverti-lo do que este povo fará ao seu povo nos dias futuros”. O Quarto Oráculo de Balaão

Now see, I am going to my people. Come, I will tell you what this people will do to your people in the days to come.” Balaam Tells What Will Happen the Fourth Time

15 E ntão pronunciou este seu oráculo: “Palavra de Balaão, filho de Beor, palavra daquele cujos olhos vêem claramente,

Then he began speaking and said, “Balaam the son of Beor is the man whose eye is opened.

16 d aquele que ouve as palavras de Deus, que possui o conhecimento do Altíssimo, daquele que vê a visão que vem do Todo-poderoso, daquele que cai prostrado, e vê com clareza:

He hears the words of God. He knows what the Most High wants him to know. He sees what the All-powerful wants him to see. He falls down, but has his eyes open.

17 E u o vejo, mas não agora; eu o avisto, mas não de perto. Uma estrela surgirá de Jacó; um cetro se levantará de Israel. Ele esmagará as frontes de Moabe e o crânio de todos os descendentes de Sete.

I see him, but not now. I see him, but he is not near. A star will come out of Jacob. A special stick of power will rise from Israel. It will crush the forehead of Moab, and break down all the sons of Sheth.

18 E dom será dominado; Seir, seu inimigo, também será dominado; mas Israel se fortalecerá.

It will take the land of Edom. And it will take the land of Seir, who fights against Israel. And Israel will fight with much power.

19 D e Jacó sairá o governo; ele destruirá os sobreviventes das cidades”. Os Últimos Oráculos de Balaão

One from Jacob will rule. He will destroy from the city all who are left alive.”

20 B alaão viu Amaleque e pronunciou este oráculo: “Amaleque foi o primeiro entre as nações, mas o seu fim será destruição”.

Then Balaam looked at Amalek and said, “Amalek was the first of the nations. But he will be destroyed in the end.”

21 D epois viu os queneus e pronunciou este oráculo: “Sua habitação é segura, seu ninho está firmado na rocha;

Then he looked at the Kenite and said, “The place where you live is strong. Your nest is set in the rock.

22 t odavia, vocês, queneus, serão destruídos quando Assur os levar prisioneiros”.

But Kain will be destroyed. How long will Asshur keep you against your will?”

23 F inalmente pronunciou este oráculo: “Ah, quem poderá viver quando Deus fizer isto?

Then Balaam said, “Who can live when God does this?

24 N avios virão da costa de Quitim e subjugarão Assur e Héber, mas o seu fim também será destruição”.

But ships will come from Kittim. They will bring trouble to Asshur and Eber, but they will be destroyed also.”

25 E ntão Balaão se levantou e voltou para casa, e Balaque seguiu o seu caminho.

Then Balaam got up and left. He returned to his place, and Balak went on his way.
