4 Ó Senhor, Deus dos Exércitos, até quando arderá a tua ira contra as orações do teu povo?

O Lord God of all, how long will You be angry with the prayers of Your people?

5 T u o alimentaste com pão de lágrimas e o fizeste beber copos de lágrimas.

You have fed them with the bread of tears. And You have made them drink a big amount of tears.

6 F izeste de nós um motivo de disputas entre as nações vizinhas, e os nossos inimigos caçoam de nós.

You have made us an object of arguing to our neighbors. Those who hate us laugh among themselves.

7 R estaura-nos, ó Deus dos Exércitos; faze resplandecer sobre nós o teu rosto, para que sejamos salvos.

O God of all, bring us back to You. Make Your face shine upon us, and we will be saved.

8 D o Egito trouxeste uma videira; expulsaste as nações e a plantaste.

You brought a vine out of Egypt. You drove out the nations, and You planted it.

9 L impaste o terreno, ela lançou raízes e encheu a terra.

You cleared the land for it. And its roots went deep and filled the land.

10 O s montes foram cobertos pela sua sombra, e os mais altos cedros, pelos seus ramos.

The mountains were covered with its shadow. And the tall trees were covered with its branches.

11 S eus ramos se estenderam até o Mar, e os seus brotos, até o Rio.

It sent out its branches to the sea, and its new branches to the River.

12 P or que derrubaste as suas cercas, permitindo que todos os que passam apanhem as suas uvas?

Why have You broken down its walls so that all who pass by pick its fruit?

13 J avalis da floresta a devastam e as criaturas do campo dela se alimentam.

The wild pig from among the trees eats it away. And whatever moves in the field eats from it.

14 V olta-te para nós, ó Deus dos Exércitos! Dos altos céus olha e vê! Toma conta desta videira,

O God of all, we beg You to return. Look down from heaven and see. Take care of this vine.

15 d a raiz que a tua mão direita plantou, do filho que para ti fizeste crescer!

Take care of the root Your right hand has planted, and the branch that You have raised up for Yourself.

16 T ua videira foi derrubada; como lixo foi consumida pelo fogo. Pela tua repreensão perece o teu povo!

They have burned it with fire. It is cut down. May they be lost when they hear Your strong words.

17 R epouse a tua mão sobre aquele que puseste à tua mão direita, o filho do homem que para ti fizeste crescer.

Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand, the son of man you have made strong for Yourself.

18 E ntão não nos desviaremos de ti; vivifica-nos, e invocaremos o teu nome.

Then we will not turn away from You. Give us new life again, and we will call on Your name.
