7 I f my lies honor God by showing how true He is, why am I still being judged as a sinner?

Iar dacă adevărul lui Dumnezeu abundă spre slava Lui, din cauza minciunii mele, atunci de ce sunt condamnat ca păcătos?

8 W hy not say, “Let us sin that good will come from it.” (Some people have said I talk like this!) They will be punished as they should be.

Şi de ce să nu zicem, aşa cum ne defăimează unii, zicând despre noi că spunem: „Să facem răul, ca să vină binele!“? Condamnarea lor este dreaptă! Nici un om nu este drept

9 W hat about it then? Are we Jews better than the people who are not Jews? Not at all! I have already said that Jews and the people who are not Jews are all sinners.

Ce urmează atunci? Suntem noi mai buni decât ei ? Nicidecum; căci i-am acuzat mai înainte pe toţi – atât pe iudei, cât şi pe greci – că sunt sub păcat,

10 T he Holy Writings say, “There is not one person who is right with God. No, not even one!

după cum este scris: „Nu există nici un om drept, nici unul măcar!

11 T here is not one who understands. There is not one who tries to find God.”

Nu există nici unul care să aibă pricepere! Nu există nici unul care să-L caute pe Dumnezeu!

12 E veryone has turned away from God. They have all done wrong. Not one of them does what is good. No, not even one!

Toţi s-au rătăcit, cu toţii au devenit buni de nimic! Nu mai există nici unul care să facă binele, nici unul măcar!

13 T heir mouth is like an open grave. They tell lies with their tongues. Whatever they say is like the poison of snakes.

Gâtlejul le este un mormânt deschis; cu limbile lor ei înşală, sub buzele lor este venin de viperă,

14 T heir mouths speak bad things against God. They say bad things about other people.

gura le este plină de blestem şi amărăciune,

15 T hey are quick to hurt and kill people.

picioarele lor se grăbesc să verse sânge,

16 W herever they go, they destroy and make people suffer.

iar pe căile lor se află prăpădul şi nenorocirea.

17 T hey know nothing about peace.

Ei nu cunosc calea păcii.

18 T hey do not honor God with love and fear.”

Nu este frică de Dumnezeu înaintea ochilor lor!“

19 N ow we know that the Law speaks to those who live under the Law. No one can say that he does not know what sin is. Yes, every person in the world stands guilty before God.

Ştim că tot ce spune Legea, le spune celor ce sunt sub Lege, pentru ca orice gură să fie închisă şi întreaga lume să fie găsită răspunzătoare înaintea lui Dumnezeu.

20 N o person will be made right with God by doing what the Law says. The Law shows us how sinful we are.

Căci „nici o fiinţă nu va fi îndreptăţită înaintea Lui“ prin faptele Legii, deoarece prin Lege vine cunoaşterea păcatului. Dreptatea lui Dumnezeu prin credinţă

21 B ut now God has made another way to make men right with Himself. It is not by the Law. The Law and the early preachers tell about it.

Dar acum, independent de Lege, a fost arătată o dreptate oferită de Dumnezeu, despre care depun mărturie Legea şi Profeţii,

22 M en become right with God by putting their trust in Jesus Christ. God will accept men if they come this way. All men are the same to God.

şi anume dreptatea oferită de Dumnezeu prin credinţa în Isus Cristos, pentru toţi cei ce cred. Nu este nici o deosebire.

23 F or all men have sinned and have missed the shining-greatness of God.

Căci toţi au păcătuit şi sunt lipsiţi de slava lui Dumnezeu.

24 A nyone can be made right with God by the free gift of His loving-favor. It is Jesus Christ Who bought them with His blood and made them free from their sins.

Ei sunt îndreptăţiţi fără plată, prin harul Lui, prin răscumpărarea care este în Cristos Isus,

25 G od gave Jesus Christ to the world. Men’s sins can be forgiven through the blood of Christ when they put their trust in Him. God gave His Son Jesus Christ to show how right He is. Before this, God did not look on the sins that were done.

pe Care Dumnezeu L-a rânduit să fie, prin credinţa în sângele Lui, o jertfă de ispăşire, ca dovadă a dreptăţii Sale, căci trecuse cu vederea păcatele săvârşite în trecut,

26 B ut now God proves that He is right in saving men from sin. He shows that He is the One Who has no sin. God makes anyone right with Himself who puts his trust in Jesus.

în vremea îngăduinţei lui Dumnezeu, pentru ca, în vremea de acum, să-Şi dovedească dreptatea, în aşa fel încât El să fie drept şi să-l îndreptăţească totodată pe cel ce are credinţă în Isus.

27 W hat then do we have to be proud of? Nothing at all! Why? Is it because men obey the Law? No! It is because men put their trust in Christ.

Şi atunci, unde este lauda? Este exclusă! Prin ce lege? A faptelor? Nu, ci prin legea credinţei.

28 T his is what we have come to know. A man is made right with God by putting his trust in Christ. It is not by his doing what the Law says.

Căci noi credem că un om este îndreptăţit prin credinţă, fără faptele Legii.

29 I s God the God of the Jews only? Is He not the God of the people who are not Jews also? He is for sure.

Sau Dumnezeu este doar al iudeilor? Nu este şi al neamurilor? Da, este şi al neamurilor,

30 H e is one God. He will make Jews and the people who are not Jews right with Himself if they put their trust in Christ.

întrucât Dumnezeu este Unul, şi El este Cel Care-i va îndreptăţi, prin credinţă, pe cei circumcişi şi, tot prin credinţă, şi pe cei necircumcişi.

31 D oes this mean that we do away with the Law when we put our trust in Christ? No, not at all. It means we know the Law is important.

Atunci anulăm noi oare Legea prin credinţă? În nici un caz, ci, mai degrabă, noi întărim Legea.
