1 T he time for the supper of bread without yeast was near. It was the special religious gathering to remember how the Jews left Egypt.

Se apropia Sărbătoarea Azimelor, căreia i se spune şi „Paştele“.

2 T he religious leaders and the teachers of the Law looked for a way to kill Jesus. But they were afraid of the people.

Conducătorii preoţilor şi cărturarii căutau o modalitate să-L omoare pe Isus, căci se temeau de popor.

3 T hen Satan came into the heart of Judas who was called Iscariot. He was one of the twelve followers.

Atunci Satan a intrat în Iuda, numit „Iscarioteanul“, care era din numărul celor doisprezece.

4 J udas went away and talked with the religious leaders and the leaders of the people. He talked about how he might hand Jesus over to them.

Acesta s-a dus şi a discutat cu conducătorii preoţilor şi cu comandanţii gărzii Templului cum să-L dea pe mâna lor.

5 T hey were glad and promised to pay him money.

Ei s-au bucurat şi au stabilit să-i dea bani.

6 J udas promised to do this and then looked for a way to hand Jesus over when there were no people around. Getting Ready for the Special Supper

El a fost de acord şi a început să caute un prilej ca să-L dea pe mâna lor, în absenţa mulţimii. Masa pascală

7 T he day of bread without yeast came. It was the day when the lamb had to be killed and given on the altar in worship in the house of God. It was the special religious gathering to remember how the Jews left Egypt.

Apoi a venit ziua Sărbătorii Azimelor, zi în care trebuia să fie jertfit mielul de Paşte.

8 J esus sent Peter and John and said, “Go and get this special supper ready for us that we may eat.”

Isus i-a trimis pe Petru şi pe Ioan înainte şi le-a zis: – Duceţi-vă şi pregătiţi-ne mielul de Paşte ca să mâncăm!

9 T hey said to Him, “Where do You want us to get it ready?”

Ei L-au întrebat: – Unde vrei să -l pregătim?

10 H e answered, “See, when you go into the city, you will meet a man carrying a jar of water. Follow him into the house where he goes.

Isus le-a răspuns: – Iată, când veţi intra în cetate, vă va întâlni un om care duce un vas cu apă. Urmaţi-l până la casa în care va intra

11 S ay to the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher asks you, “Where is the room you keep for friends where I may eat this special supper with My followers?”’

şi spuneţi-i stăpânului casei astfel: „Învăţătorul te întreabă: «Unde este camera de oaspeţi în care urmează să mănânc mielul de Paşte împreună cu ucenicii Mei?»“

12 H e will take you to a large room on the second floor with everything in it. Make it ready for us.”

El vă va arăta sus o cameră mare şi aranjată. Acolo să faceţi pregătirile!

13 T hey went and found everything as Jesus had said. They got ready for the special supper. The First Lord’s Supper

Ei s-au dus şi au găsit totul aşa cum le spusese Isus; şi au pregătit mielul de Paşte. Cina Domnului

14 W hen the time came, Jesus sat down with the twelve followers.

Când a sosit ceasul, Isus S-a aşezat la masă împreună cu apostolii.

15 H e said to them, “I have wanted very much to eat this special supper with you to remember how the Jews left Egypt. I have wanted to eat this with you before I suffer.

El le-a zis: „Am dorit mult să mănânc împreună cu voi această masă de Paşte, înainte de suferinţa Mea!

16 I say to you, I will not eat this special supper again until its true meaning is completed in the holy nation of God.”

Căci vă spun că nu voi mai mânca din ea până când nu îşi va găsi împlinirea în Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu!“

17 T hen Jesus took the cup and gave thanks. He said, “Take this and pass it to each one.

A luat apoi un pahar, a adus mulţumiri şi a zis: „Luaţi-l şi împărţiţi-l între voi!

18 I say to you that I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the holy nation of God comes.”

Căci vă spun că, de acum încolo, nu voi mai bea din rodul viţei până când va veni Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu.“

19 T hen Jesus took bread and gave thanks and broke it in pieces. He gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you. Do this to remember Me.”

Apoi a luat o pâine şi, după ce a adus mulţumiri, a frânt-o şi le-a dat-o zicând: „Acesta este trupul Meu, care se dă pentru voi; să faceţi lucrul acesta în amintirea Mea!“

20 I n the same way, after they had finished the bread, He took the cup. He said, “This cup is My blood of the New Way of Worship which is given for you. Jesus Tells of the One Who Will Hand Him Over

În acelaşi fel, după ce au mâncat, a luat paharul şi a zis: „Acest pahar este Legământul cel Nou în sângele Meu, care se varsă pentru voi.

21 “ See, the hand of the one who will give Me over to the leaders of the country is on the table with Me.

Dar iată că mâna trădătorului Meu este cu Mine la masă!

22 T he Son of Man will be taken this way because it has been in God’s plan. But it is bad for that man who hands Him over!”

Căci într-adevăr, Fiul Omului Se duce după cum a fost hotărât, dar vai de omul acela prin care El este trădat!“

23 T hey began to ask each other which of them would do this. Arguing about Who Is the Greatest

Ei au început să se întrebe unii pe alţii cine să fie oare acela dintre ei care urmează să facă lucrul acesta. Cine este cel mai mare

24 T hey started to argue among themselves about who was thought to be the greatest.

Între ei s-a iscat şi o ceartă cu privire la care dintre ei ar trebui să fie considerat cel mai mare.

25 J esus said to them, “The kings of the nations show their power to the people. Those who have power over the people are given names of honor.

Isus însă le-a zis: – Regii neamurilor stăpânesc peste ele, iar cei ce au autoritate asupra lor sunt numiţi „binefăcători“.

26 B ut you will not be like that. Let the greatest among you be as the least. Let the leader be as the one who cares for others.

Cu voi să nu fie aşa! Ci cel mai mare dintre voi să devină ca cel mai mic, iar cel care conduce să fie ca cel care slujeşte.

27 W ho is greater, the one who is eating at the table, or the one who is caring for him? Is it not the one who is eating at the table? But I am here with you as One Who cares for you. The Followers Will Be Honored

Căci cine este mai mare, cel care stă la masă sau cel care slujeşte? Oare nu cel care stă la masă? Eu însă sunt între voi ca cel care slujeşte!

28 “ You have stayed with Me through all the hard things that have come to Me.

Voi sunteţi cei care aţi rămas cu Mine în încercările Mele.

29 A s My Father has given Me a holy nation, I will give you the right

De aceea şi Eu vă ofer o împărăţie, aşa cum şi Tatăl Meu Mi-a oferit-o Mie,

30 t o eat and drink at My table in My holy nation. You will sit on thrones and judge the twelve family groups of the Jewish nation.” Jesus Tells How Peter Will Lie about Him

ca să mâncaţi şi să beţi la masa Mea, în Împărăţia Mea, şi să staţi pe tronuri judecând cele douăsprezece seminţii ale lui Israel. Isus prezice lepădarea lui Petru

31 T he Lord said, “Simon, Simon, listen! Satan has wanted to have you. He will divide you as wheat is divided from that which is no good.

Simon, Simon, iată, Satan a cerut să vă cearnă aşa cum se cerne grâul,

32 B ut I have prayed for you. I have prayed that your faith will be strong and that you will not give up. When you return, you must help to make your brothers strong.”

dar Eu m-am rugat pentru tine, ca să nu ţi se piardă credinţa. Iar când te vei întoarce, întăreşte-i pe fraţii tăi!

33 P eter said to Jesus, “Lord, I am ready to go to prison and to die with You!”

Petru I-a răspuns: – Doamne, sunt gata să merg cu Tine chiar şi la închisoare şi la moarte!

34 J esus said, “I tell you, Peter, a rooster will not crow today before you will say three times that you do not know Me.” The Followers Are Told of Trouble to Come

Isus i-a zis: – Îţi spun, Petru, că nu va cânta cocoşul astăzi până când nu te vei lepăda de trei ori că nu Mă cunoşti! Îndemnuri pentru vremea încercării

35 J esus said to them, “I sent you without money or bag or shoes. Did you need anything?” They said, “Nothing.”

Apoi le-a zis: – Când v-am trimis fără pungă, fără traistă şi fără sandale, aţi dus voi lipsă de ceva? – De nimic! I-au răspuns ei.

36 T hen He said to them, “But now whoever has a money-bag and a bag for food should take it. Whoever does not have a sword should sell his coat and buy one.

El le-a mai zis: – Acum, dimpotrivă, cel ce are o pungă, s-o ia! La fel şi traista! Iar cel ce nu are sabie, să-şi vândă haina şi să-şi cumpere una!

37 I tell you, that what has been written about Me must happen. It says, ‘They thought of Him as One Who broke the Law.’ What is told about Me must happen.”

Căci vă spun că ceea ce este scris trebuie să se împlinească în Mine, şi anume: „El a fost numărat alături de cei nelegiuiţi.“ Da, ceea ce este scris despre Mine este gata să se împlinească.

38 T hey said, “Lord, look, we have two swords.” He answered, “That is enough.” Jesus Prays in the Garden

Ei au zis: – Doamne, iată aici două săbii! – De-ajuns! le-a zis El. Isus se roagă pe Muntele Măslinilor

39 J esus came out of the room. Then He went to the Mount of Olives as He had been doing. The followers went with Him.

A ieşit afară şi S-a dus, ca de obicei, spre Muntele Măslinilor. Ucenicii L-au urmat şi ei.

40 W hen He got there, He said to them, “Pray that you will not be tempted.”

Când a ajuns în locul acela, le-a zis: „Rugaţi-vă să nu cădeţi în ispită!“

41 H e walked away from them about as far as a stone can be thrown. There He got down with His face on the ground and prayed.

Apoi S-a retras de lângă ei, cam la o distanţă de o aruncătură de piatră, s-a pus pe genunchi şi s-a rugat

42 H e said, “Father, if it can be done, take away what must happen to Me. Even so, not what I want, but what You want.”

zicând: „Tată, dacă vrei, îndepărtează de la Mine paharul acesta! Totuşi facă-se nu voia Mea, ci a Ta!“

43 A n angel from heaven came and gave Him strength.

(Atunci I s-a arătat un înger din cer, ca să-L întărească.

44 H is heart was much troubled and He prayed all the more. Water ran from His face like blood and fell to the ground.

Fiind în agonie, El se ruga cu şi mai multă ardoare, iar sudoarea Lui devenise ca nişte picături de sânge care cădeau pe pământ.)

45 W hen Jesus got up after praying, He went back to the followers. He found them sleeping because of so much sorrow.

Când S-a ridicat de la rugăciune şi a venit la ucenici, i-a găsit adormiţi de întristare.

46 H e said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you will not be tempted.” Jesus Is Handed Over to Sinners

El le-a zis: „De ce dormiţi? Sculaţi-vă şi rugaţi-vă, ca să nu cădeţi în ispită!“ Arestarea lui Isus

47 W hile Jesus was speaking, Judas came walking ahead of many people. He was one of the twelve followers. He came near to Jesus to kiss Him.

În timp ce El încă vorbea, iată că au venit o mulţime de oameni, iar cel numit Iuda, unul din cei doisprezece, mergea înaintea lor. El s-a apropiat de Isus ca să-L sărute,

48 B ut Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you handing over the Son of Man with a kiss?”

dar Isus i-a zis: „Iuda, cu un sărut Îl trădezi tu pe Fiul Omului?“

49 T hose around Jesus saw what was going to happen and asked, “Lord, should we fight with our swords?”

Când cei din jurul lui Isus au văzut ce urma să se întâmple, au zis: – Doamne, să lovim cu sabia?

50 O ne of them hit a servant who was owned by the head religious leader and cut off his right ear.

Şi unul dintre ei l-a lovit cu sabia pe sclavul marelui preot, tăindu-i urechea dreaptă.

51 J esus said, “Stop! This is enough.” And He put His hand on his ear and healed him. Jesus Stands in Front of the Religious Leaders

Însă Isus a zis: – Încetaţi cu aceasta! Şi a atins urechea acelui om şi l-a vindecat.

52 J esus said to the religious leaders and the leaders of the house of God and the other leaders who came to Him, “Have you come with swords and sticks to take Me, as if I were a robber?

Apoi Isus le-a zis conducătorilor preoţilor, comandanţilor gărzii Templului şi bătrânilor, care veniseră împotriva Lui: „Aţi ieşit cu săbii şi ciomege, ca după un tâlhar ?

53 W hile I was with you everyday in the house of God, you never took hold of Me. But now is the time you are to come and you have come in the dark.”

Când eram cu voi în fiecare zi în Templu, n-aţi pus mâna pe Mine! Însă acesta este ceasul vostru şi autoritatea întunericului!“ Lepădarea lui Petru

54 T hen they led Jesus away to the house of the head religious leader. Peter followed a long way behind Him. Peter Said He Did Not Know Jesus

Atunci L-au prins şi L-au dus şi L-au băgat în casa marelui preot. Petru L-a urmat de la distanţă.

55 T hey built a fire in the yard and sat down. Peter sat down with them.

Au aprins un foc în mijlocul curţii şi au şezut jos. Petru s-a aşezat şi el printre ei.

56 O ne of the servant-girls saw Peter as he sat by the fire and looked right at him. She said, “This man was with Jesus also.”

O slujnică, când l-a văzut şezând lângă foc, s-a uitat ţintă la el şi a zis: – Şi acesta era cu El!

57 P eter lied and said, “Woman, I do not know Him.”

Însă el s-a lepădat zicând: – Nu-L cunosc, femeie!

58 A fter awhile another person saw him and said, “You are one of them also.” Peter said, “No, sir, I am not.”

După puţin timp, l-a văzut altcineva, care a zis: – Şi tu eşti dintre ei! Dar Petru a zis: – Nu sunt, omule!

59 A bout an hour later another person said the same thing, “For sure, this man was with Jesus also because he is from Galilee.”

Cam o oră mai târziu, un altul a susţinut cu tărie, zicând: – Cu siguranţă şi acesta era cu El, căci este galileean!

60 B ut Peter said, “Sir, I do not know what you are saying.” And at once, while he was talking, a rooster crowed.

Dar Petru a zis: – Omule, nu ştiu despre ce vorbeşti! Şi imediat, în timp ce el încă vorbea, a cântat cocoşul.

61 T he Lord turned and looked at Peter. He remembered the Lord had said, “Before a rooster crows, you will say three times that you do not know Me.”

Domnul S-a întors şi s-a uitat la Petru. Atunci Petru şi-a adus aminte de cuvântul pe care i-l spusese Domnul: „Astăzi, înainte de cântatul cocoşului, te vei lepăda de Mine de trei ori!“

62 P eter went outside and cried with a troubled heart.

Şi a ieşit afară şi a plâns cu amar. Isus, batjocorit de cei din garda Templului

63 T hose who watched Jesus so He could not get away made fun of Him and beat Him.

Oamenii care-L păzeau pe Isus Îl batjocoreau şi-L băteau.

64 T hey covered His eyes with a cloth and asked Him, “Tell us who hit You!”

Ei L-au legat la ochi şi-L întrebau zicând: „Profeţeşte, cine este cel ce Te-a lovit?“

65 T hey said many other bad things against Jesus.

Şi rosteau multe alte blasfemii împotriva Lui. Isus înaintea Sinedriului

66 W hen it was morning the leaders of the people and the religious leaders and the teachers of the Law got together. They took Jesus to the court of the religious leader. They said,

Când s-a făcut ziuă, sfatul bătrânilor poporului, conducătorii preoţilor şi cărturarii s-au adunat împreună şi L-au dus pe Isus în sinedriul lor.

67 “ Tell us if you are the Christ.” He said to them, “If I tell you, you will not believe Me.

Ei I-au zis: – Dacă Tu eşti Cristosul, spune-ne! Isus le-a răspuns: – Dacă vă voi spune, cu nici un chip nu veţi crede,

68 I f I ask you something, you will not tell Me.

iar dacă vă voi întreba, cu nici un chip nu-Mi veţi răspunde, (nici nu- Mi veţi da drumul).

69 F rom now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the All-powerful God.”

De acum încolo, Fiul Omului va fi aşezat la dreapta puterii lui Dumnezeu.

70 T hey all said, “Then are You the Son of God?” He said, “You say that I am.”

Toţi au întrebat: – Eşti Tu deci Fiul lui Dumnezeu? El le-a răspuns: – Chiar voi înşivă spuneţi că Eu sunt.

71 T hen they said, “What other word do we need against Him? We have heard Him say this with His own mouth.”

Atunci ei au zis: – Ce nevoie mai avem de mărturie?! Căci noi înşine am auzit -o din gura Lui!
