1 J esus called His twelve followers to Him. He gave them the right and the power over all demons and to heal diseases.

Isus i-a chemat pe cei doisprezece, le-a dat putere şi autoritate asupra tuturor demonilor şi să vindece bolile,

2 H e sent them to preach about the holy nation of God and to heal the sick.

apoi i-a trimis să proclame Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu şi să-i vindece (pe cei neputincioşi).

3 T hen He said to them, “Take nothing along for the trip. Do not take a walking stick or a bag or bread or money. Do not take two coats.

El le-a zis: „Să nu luaţi nimic cu voi pe drum – să nu luaţi nici toiag, nici traistă, nici pâine, nici bani şi să nu aveţi două tunici!

4 W hatever house you go into, stay there until you are ready to go on.

În orice casă intraţi, rămâneţi acolo şi din locul acela să plecaţi!

5 I f anyone will not take you in, as you leave that city, shake its dust off your feet. That will speak against them.”

Şi oriunde nu vă vor primi, scuturaţi-vă praful de pe picioare când ieşiţi din cetatea aceea, drept mărturie împotriva lor!“

6 T hey went out, going from town to town. They preached the Good News and healed the sick everywhere. John the Baptist Is Killed

Ei au plecat şi au călătorit prin sate, vestind Evanghelia şi înfăptuind vindecări pretutindeni.

7 N ow Herod the leader heard of all that had been done by Jesus. He was troubled because some people said that John the Baptist had been raised from the dead.

Tetrarhul Irod a auzit despre toate câte se întâmplaseră şi era nedumerit, pentru că unii ziceau că Ioan fusese înviat din morţi.

8 S ome people said that Elijah had come back. Others thought one of the early preachers had been raised from the dead.

Alţii ziceau că s-a arătat Ilie, iar alţii că a înviat vreun profet dintre cei din vechime.

9 T hen Herod said, “I had John’s head cut off. But who is this Man that I hear these things about?” He wanted to see Jesus. The Feeding of the Five Thousand

Dar Irod a zis: „Pe Ioan l-am decapitat. Deci Cine este Acesta despre Care aud asemenea lucruri?“ Şi căuta să-L vadă. Isus hrăneşte peste cinci mii de oameni

10 T he twelve followers came back. They told Jesus what they had done. Jesus took them to a desert near the town of Bethsaida. There they could be alone.

Când s-au întors, apostolii I-au povestit lui Isus tot ce au făcut. El i-a luat deoparte şi s-au retras, doar ei singuri, spre o cetate numită Betsaida.

11 W hen the people knew where Jesus was, they followed Him. Jesus was happy to see them and talked to them about the holy nation of God. He healed all who were sick.

Dar mulţimile au aflat lucrul acesta şi L-au urmat. El le-a primit bine, le-a vorbit despre Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu şi i-a vindecat pe cei care aveau nevoie de vindecare.

12 W hen the day was about over, the twelve followers came to Jesus. They said, “Send these many people away so they can go to the towns and country near here. There they can find a place to sleep and get food. We are here in a desert.”

Fiindcă ziua se apropia de sfârşit, cei doisprezece au venit la El şi I-au zis: – Dă drumul mulţimii să meargă prin satele dimprejur şi prin cătune ca să găsească găzduire şi provizii, pentru că aici ne aflăm într-un loc pustiu!

13 B ut Jesus said to them, “Give them something to eat.” They said, “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish. Are we to go and buy food for all these people?”

Însă El le-a zis: – Daţi-le voi să mănânce! Ei I-au răspuns: – N-avem cu noi mai mult de cinci pâini şi doi peşti; numai dacă nu ne ducem noi să cumpărăm merinde pentru tot poporul aceasta!

14 T here were about five thousand men. Jesus said to His followers, “Have them sit down in groups of fifty people.”

Căci erau aproape cinci mii de bărbaţi. Isus le-a zis ucenicilor Săi: – Puneţi-i să se aşeze în grupuri (cam) de câte cincizeci!

15 T hey did as He told them. They made all of the people sit down.

Ei au făcut întocmai – i-au pus pe toţi să se aşeze.

16 A s Jesus took the five loaves of bread and two fish, He looked up to heaven and gave thanks. He broke them in pieces and gave them to His followers to give to the people.

Isus a luat cele cinci pâini şi cei doi peşti şi, privind spre cer, a rostit binecuvântarea, le-a frânt şi apoi le-a dat ucenicilor ca să le împartă mulţimii.

17 T hey all ate and were filled. They picked up twelve baskets full of pieces of bread and fish after the people finished eating. Peter Says Jesus Is the Christ

Au mâncat toţi şi s-au săturat; şi s-au strâns douăsprezece coşuri cu firimiturile rămase. Mărturisirea de credinţă a lui Petru

18 W hile Jesus was praying alone, His followers were with Him. Jesus asked them, “Who do people say that I am?”

Într-o zi, în timp ce se ruga singur deoparte, cu El fiind doar ucenicii, Isus i-a întrebat: – Cine zic mulţimile că sunt Eu?

19 T hey said, “John the Baptist, but some say Elijah. Others say that one of the early preachers has been raised from the dead.”

Ei au răspuns: – Unii zic că eşti Ioan Botezătorul, alţii zic că eşti Ilie, iar alţii zic că un profet dintre cei din vechime a înviat.

20 J esus said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter said, “You are the Christ of God.” Jesus Tells of His Death for the First Time

– Dar voi cine ziceţi că sunt Eu? i-a mai întrebat El. Petru a răspuns: – Cristosul lui Dumnezeu! Isus vorbeşte despre moartea şi învierea Sa

21 T hen Jesus spoke to them and told them to tell no one.

Însă Isus i-a avertizat şi le-a poruncit să nu spună nimănui acest lucru,

22 H e said, “The Son of Man must suffer many things. The leaders and the religious leaders and the teachers of the Law will have nothing to do with Him. He must be killed and be raised from the dead three days later.” Giving Up Self and One’s Own Desires

zicând: – Fiul Omului trebuie să sufere mult şi să fie respins de către bătrâni, de către conducătorii preoţilor şi de către cărturari, să fie omorât, iar a treia zi să fie înviat. Preţul uceniciei

23 T hen Jesus said to them all, “If anyone wants to follow Me, he must give up himself and his own desires. He must take up his cross everyday and follow Me.

Apoi le-a spus tuturor: – Dacă vrea cineva să vină după Mine, să se lepede de sine, să-şi ia crucea în fiecare zi şi să Mă urmeze!

24 I f anyone wants to keep his own life safe, he must lose it. If anyone gives up his life because of Me, he will save it.

Căci oricine vrea să-şi salveze viaţa o va pierde, dar cel ce-şi pierde viaţa pentru Mine, acela o va salva.

25 F or what does a man have if he gets all the world and loses or gives up his life?

Şi la ce i-ar folosi unui om să câştige întreaga lume, dacă s-ar distruge sau s-ar pierde pe sine însuşi?

26 W hoever is ashamed of Me and My Words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His own shining-greatness and of the Father’s and of the holy angels.

Căci celui ce îi va fi ruşine de Mine şi de cuvintele Mele, de acela Îi va fi ruşine şi Fiului Omului când va veni în slava Sa, a Tatălui şi a sfinţilor îngeri.

27 I tell you the truth, some standing here will not die until they see the holy nation of God.” A Look at What Jesus Will Be Like

Adevărat vă spun că sunt unii dintre cei ce stau aici care nu vor gusta moartea înainte de a vedea Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu. Schimbarea la faţă

28 A bout eight days after Jesus had said these things, He took Peter and James and John with Him. They went up on a mountain to pray.

Cam la opt zile după cuvintele acestea, Isus i-a luat cu Sine pe Petru, pe Iacov şi pe Ioan şi au urcat pe munte ca să se roage.

29 A s Jesus prayed, He was changed in looks before them. His clothes became white and shining bright.

În timp ce se ruga, I s-a schimbat înfăţişarea feţei, iar hainele Lui au devenit strălucitor de albe.

30 T wo men talked with Jesus. They were Moses and Elijah.

Şi iată că doi bărbaţi stăteau de vorbă cu El – erau Moise şi Ilie,

31 T hey looked like the shining-greatness of heaven as they talked about His death in Jerusalem which was soon to happen.

care se arătaseră în slavă. Ei vorbeau despre exodul Lui, pe care urma să-l ducă la îndeplinire în Ierusalim.

32 B ut Peter and those with him had gone to sleep. When they woke up, they saw His shining-greatness and the two men who stood with Him.

Petru şi cei ce erau cu el erau îngreunaţi de somn, dar când s-au trezit bine au văzut slava Lui şi pe cei doi bărbaţi care stăteau împreună cu El.

33 A s the two men went from Jesus, Peter said to Him, “Teacher, it is good for us to be here. Let us build three tents to worship in. One will be for You. One will be for Moses. One will be for Elijah.” He did not know what he was saying.

Chiar când aceştia se despărţeau de El, Petru I-a zis lui Isus: „Stăpâne, este bine să fim aici! Să facem trei corturi: unul pentru Tine, unul pentru Moise şi unul pentru Ilie!“ Nu ştia ce zice.

34 W hile he was talking, a cloud came over them. They were afraid as the cloud came in around them.

În timp ce spunea el aceste lucruri, a venit un nor şi i-a acoperit. Când au intrat în nor, s-au înspăimântat.

35 A voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My Son, the One I have chosen. Listen to Him!”

Şi din nor s-a auzit un glas care zicea: „Acesta este Fiul Meu, pe Care L-am ales! De El să ascultaţi!“

36 W hen the voice was gone, Jesus was standing there alone. From that time on, they kept these things to themselves. They told no one what they had seen. A Boy with a Demon Is Healed

Când s-a auzit glasul, Isus se afla acolo singur. Ei au păstrat tăcerea şi n-au spus nimănui nimic, în zilele acelea, despre lucrurile pe care le văzuseră. Ucenicii nu pot vindeca un copil demonizat

37 T he next day they came down from the mountain and many people met Jesus.

În ziua următoare, când au coborât de pe munte, o mare mulţime de oameni L-a întâmpinat pe Isus.

38 A man from among the people cried out, “Teacher, I beg of You to look at my son. He is my only child.

Şi iată că un bărbat din mulţime a strigat: – Învăţătorule, Te rog să priveşti cu îndurare la fiul meu, căci este singurul meu fiu!

39 S ee, a demon takes him and makes him cry out. It takes hold of him and makes him shake. Spit runs from his mouth. He has marks on his body from being hurt. The demon does not want to go from him.

Un duh îl apucă dintr-odată şi imediat el începe să strige; duhul îi provoacă convulsii şi spume la gură şi cu greu pleacă de la el, lăsându-l zdrobit!

40 I begged Your followers to put the demon out, but they could not.”

I-am rugat pe ucenicii Tăi să-l scoată, dar n-au putut!

41 T hen Jesus said, “You people of this day do not have faith. You turn from what is right! How long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring your son to Me.”

Isus a răspuns: – O, generaţie necredincioasă şi pervertită! Până când voi mai fi cu voi şi vă voi mai suferi? Adu-l aici pe fiul tău!

42 W hile the boy was coming, the demon threw him down and made him lose the use of his mind for awhile. Jesus spoke sharp words to the demon. He healed the child and gave him back to his father. Jesus Tells of His Death the Second Time

Chiar în timp ce venea, demonul l-a trântit la pământ şi i-a provocat convulsii. Dar Isus a poruncit duhului necurat, l-a vindecat pe băiat şi l-a dat înapoi tatălui său.

43 T hey were all surprised at the great power of God. They all were thinking about the special things Jesus had done. And Jesus said to His followers,

Toţi au rămas uimiţi de măreţia lui Dumnezeu. Isus vorbeşte din nou despre moartea şi învierea Sa În timp ce toţi se mirau de tot ceea ce făcea El, Isus le-a zis ucenicilor Săi:

44 “ Remember these words. For the Son of Man will be given over into the hands of men.”

„Ascultaţi cu atenţie aceste cuvinte: Fiul Omului urmează să fie trădat în mâinile oamenilor.“

45 T hey did not understand these words because it was hidden from them. They did not know what Jesus meant and were afraid to ask Him. Jesus Teaches about the Faith of a Child

Ei însă n-au priceput aceste vorbe, pentru că înţelesul lor era ascuns de ei, ca să nu le înţeleagă; şi se temeau să-L întrebe despre lucrul acesta. Cine este cel mai mare?

46 T he followers argued among themselves about which of them would be the greatest.

Apoi s-a iscat o ceartă între ei cu privire la cine este cel mai mare dintre ei.

47 J esus knew what they were thinking. He put a child beside Him.

Dar Isus, cunoscând gândul inimii lor, a luat un copilaş, l-a pus să stea lângă El

48 H e said to the followers, “Whoever receives this child in My name, receives Me. Whoever receives Me, receives Him Who sent Me. The one who is least among you is the one who is great.” The Sharp Words Against the Followers

şi le-a zis: „Oricine primeşte acest copilaş în Numele meu, pe Mine Mă primeşte, iar cel ce Mă primeşte pe Mine Îl primeşte pe Cel Ce M-a trimis pe Mine. Căci cine este cel mai mic dintre voi toţi, acela este cel mai mare.“ De partea lui Isus

49 J ohn said, “Teacher, we saw someone putting out demons in Your name. We told him to stop because he was not following us.”

Ioan a zis: – Stăpâne, noi am văzut pe cineva care scotea demoni în Numele Tău şi l-am oprit, pentru că nu ne urma.

50 J esus said to him, “Do not stop him. He who is not against us is for us.” Jesus and His Followers Leave Galilee

Isus i-a răspuns: – Nu-l opriţi, pentru că cel care nu este împotriva voastră este de partea voastră. Opoziţie din partea samaritenilor

51 I t was about time for Jesus to be taken up into heaven. He turned toward Jerusalem and was sure that nothing would stop Him from going.

Când s-a apropiat vremea în care avea să fie luat la cer, Şi-a îndreptat hotărât faţa să meargă la Ierusalim.

52 H e sent men on ahead of Him. They came to a town in Samaria. There they got things ready for Jesus.

A trimis înaintea Lui nişte mesageri, care s-au dus şi au intrat într-un sat al samaritenilor, ca să facă pregătirile pentru El.

53 T he people did not want Him there because they knew He was on His way to Jerusalem.

Dar aceştia nu L-au primit, pentru că faţa Sa se îndrepta spre Ierusalim.

54 J ames and John, His followers, saw this. They said, “Lord, do You want us to speak so fire will come down from heaven and burn them up as Elijah did?”

Când au văzut acest lucru, Iacov şi Ioan, ucenicii Lui, au zis: –Doamne, vrei să spunem să se coboare foc din cer şi să-i mistuie, (cum a făcut Ilie) ?

55 J esus turned and spoke sharp words to them. (He said, “You do not know what kind of spirit you have.

Însă Isus S-a întors, i-a mustrat (şi a zis: – Nu ştiţi de ce duh sunteţi însufleţiţi!

56 T he Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives. He came to save them from the punishment of sin.” They went on their way to another town.) The Testing of Some Followers

Căci Fiul Omului nu a venit să piardă sufletele oamenilor, ci să le mântuiască!) Apoi au plecat într-un alt sat. Costurile uceniciei

57 A s they were going on their way, a man said to Jesus, “Lord, I will follow You wherever You go.”

În timp ce erau pe drum, cineva I-a zis: – (Doamne,) Te voi urma oriunde vei merge!

58 J esus said to him, “Foxes have holes. Birds of the sky have nests. The Son of Man has no place to put His head.”

Isus i-a răspuns: – Vulpile au vizuini şi păsările cerului au cuiburi, dar Fiul Omului nu are unde să-Şi odihnească capul.

59 H e said to another, “Follow Me.” But the man said, “Lord, let me go first and bury my father.”

Altuia i-a zis: – Urmează-Mă! Dar acela I-a răspuns: – (Doamne,) dă-mi voie mai întâi să mă duc să-l înmormântez pe tatăl meu!

60 J esus said to him, “Let the people who are dead bury their own dead. You go and preach about the holy nation of God.”

Isus i-a zis: – Lasă morţii să-şi îngroape morţii, iar tu du-te şi vesteşte Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu!

61 A nd another one said, “Lord, I will follow You, but first let me go and say good-bye to those at home.”

Un altul a zis: – Te voi urma, Doamne, dar dă-mi voie mai întâi să-mi iau rămas bun de la cei din casa mea!

62 J esus said to him, “Anyone who puts his hand on a plow and looks back at the things behind is of no use in the holy nation of God.”

Dar Isus i-a răspuns: – Nimeni care pune mâna pe plug şi se uită înapoi nu este potrivit pentru Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu!
