1 O Lord, in You I have found a safe place. Let me never be ashamed. Set me free, because You do what is right and good.

La Tine, Doamne, caut adăpost! Să nu rămân de ruşine vreodată! În dreptatea Ta, izbăveşte-mă!

2 T urn Your ear to me, and be quick to save me. Be my rock of strength, a strong place to keep me safe.

Pleacă-Ţi urechea spre mine şi scapă-mă degrabă! Fii pentru mine o stâncă de adăpost, o fortăreaţă trainică ca să pot fi izbăvit!

3 F or You are my rock and my safe place. For the honor of Your name, lead me and show me the way.

Tu eşti stânca şi fortăreaţa mea. Condu-mă şi călăuzeşte-mă, din pricina Numelui Tău!

4 Y ou will free me from the net that they have hidden for me. For You are my strength.

Scapă-mă de laţul care mi-a fost întins, căci Tu eşti fortăreaţa mea!

5 I give my spirit into Your hands. You have made me free, O Lord, God of truth.

În mâinile Tale îmi încredinţez duhul! Tu m-ai izbăvit, Doamne, Dumnezeu al adevărului!

6 I hate those who worship false gods. But I trust in the Lord.

Urăsc pe cei ce se alipesc de idoli deşerţi, dar Eu mă încred în Domnul!

7 I will be glad and full of joy in Your loving-kindness. For You have seen my suffering. You have known the troubles of my soul.

Mă voi bucura şi mă voi veseli de îndurarea Ta, fiindcă mi-ai văzut necazul şi ai cunoscut nenorocirea sufletului meu.

8 Y ou have not given me into the hand of those who hate me. You have set my feet in a large place.

Tu nu m-ai dat pe mâna duşmanului, ci mi-ai aşezat picioarele într-un loc larg.

9 S how me loving-kindness, O Lord, for I am in trouble. My eyes, my soul and my body are becoming weak from being sad.

Doamne, ai milă de mine, căci sunt în strâmtorare! De atâta întristare mi se topesc ochii, sufletul şi pântecele.

10 F or my life gets weaker with sorrow, and my years with crying inside myself. My strength has left me because of my sin. And my bones waste away.

Îmi sfârşesc viaţa în durere şi anii în întristare. Puterea îmi este sleită din pricina vinii mele, iar oasele mi se topesc.

11 B ecause of all those who hate me, I have become a shame to my neighbors. Even my friends do not want to be with me. Those who see me on the street run from me.

Din pricina tuturor potrivnicilor mei am ajuns să fiu făcut de ruşine; am ajuns de groază pentru vecinii mei, o spaimă pentru cunoscuţii mei. Cei ce mă văd pe uliţă fug de mine.

12 I am forgotten like a dead man and they do not think about me. I am like a broken pot.

Sunt uitat de inimi ca şi cum aş fi mort; am ajuns ca un vas spart.

13 F or I have heard many say things to hurt me. Fear is on every side. They planned together against me. They thought of ways to take away my life.

Aud şuşoteala multora – peste tot este numai teroare! Ei se sfătuiesc împotriva mea, plănuind să-mi ia viaţa.

14 B ut as for me, I trust in You, O Lord. I say, “You are my God.”

Dar eu mă-ncred în Tine, Doamne, şi mărturisesc: „Tu eşti Dumnezeul meu!“

15 M y times are in Your hands. Free me from the hands of those who hate me, and from those who try to hurt me.

Destinul meu este în mâna Ta; izbăveşte-mă din mâna duşmanilor şi a prigonitorilor mei!

16 M ake Your face shine upon Your servant. Save me in Your loving-kindness.

Fă să strălucească faţa Ta peste robul Tău, mântuieşte-mă în îndurarea Ta!

17 D o not let me be put to shame, O Lord. For I call to You. Let the sinful be put to shame. Let them be quiet in the grave.

Nu lăsa să fiu dat de ruşine, Doamne, căci la Tine strig după ajutor, ci fă să fie daţi de ruşine cei răi; să fie reduşi la tăcere în Locuinţa Morţilor!

18 L et the lying lips be quiet. For they speak with pride and hate those who do right and good.

Să fie amuţite buzele mincinoase, care vorbesc cu obrăznicie, cu mândrie şi dispreţ împotriva celui drept.

19 H ow great is Your loving-kindness! You have stored it up for those who fear You. You show it to those who trust in You in front of the sons of men.

Cât de mare este bunătatea Ta, pe care ai păstrat-o pentru cei ce se tem de Tine, pe care ai arătat-o celor ce se încred în Tine, sub privirea oamenilor!

20 Y ou will hide them with You in secret from the sinful plans of men. You keep them in Your tent in secret from those who fight with tongues.

Tu-i ascunzi la adăpostul feţei Tale de uneltirile oamenilor; îi tăinuieşti în Coliba Ta de limbile gâlcevitoare.

21 H onor and thanks be to the Lord. For He has shown His great loving-favor to me when I was in a city with armies all around.

Binecuvântat să fie Domnul, căci minunată I-a fost îndurarea faţă de mine când eram într-o cetate asediată!

22 I n my fear I said, “You have closed Your eyes to me!” But You heard my cry for loving-kindness when I called to You.

M-am pripit când am zis: „Sunt izgonit dinaintea Ta!“ Într-adevăr, Tu ai ascultat glasul rugăminţilor mele, când am strigat către Tine.

23 L ove the Lord, all you who belong to Him! The Lord keeps the faithful safe. But He gives the proud their pay in full.

Iubiţi-L pe Domnul, toţi sfinţii Lui, căci Domnul păzeşte pe cei credincioşi, dar celor ce se poartă cu mândrie le dă ce li se cuvine!

24 B e strong. Be strong in heart, all you who hope in the Lord.

Fiţi tari şi încurajaţi-vă inimile, toţi cei ce nădăjduiţi în Domnul!
