1 T he special word about the Valley of Visions: What is wrong, that you have all gone up to the house tops,

O profeţie cu privire la Valea Viziunii. „Ce vreţi să arătaţi, de v-aţi urcat cu toţii pe acoperişuri,

2 y ou who were full of noise, you loud town, you joy-filled city? Your dead were not killed with the sword. They did not die in battle.

oraş plin de zarvă, cetate gălăgioasă şi plină de dezmăţ? Cei ucişi dintre ai tăi n-au fost răpuşi de sabie, nu au murit în luptă.

3 A ll your rulers have run away together, and were taken without using the bow. All of you who were found were taken away together, even though you had run far away.

Toţi conducătorii tăi au fugit împreună, însă au fost prinşi fără să se folosească arcul. Toţi dintre ai tăi care au fost găsiţi, au fost capturaţi împreună, deşi fugiseră departe.

4 S o I said, “Turn your eyes away from me. Let me cry with much sorrow. Do not try to comfort me about my people being destroyed.”

De aceea am zis: «Întoarceţi-vă privirile de la mine! Lăsaţi-mă să vărs lacrimi amare! Nu încercaţi să mă mângâiaţi pentru distrugerea fiicei poporului meu!»

5 F or the Lord God of All has a day of fear, crushing down, and trouble in the Valley of Vision. There is a breaking down of walls and a crying out to the mountain.

Căci este o zi de învălmăşeală, de călcat în picioare şi de groază, o zi trimisă de Stăpânul, Domnul Oştirilor, în Valea Viziunii; o zi în care se dărâmă ziduri şi se strigă după ajutor spre munţi.

6 E lam took up the arrows with the war-wagons, soldiers and horsemen. And Kir let the battle-covering be seen.

Elamul îşi ia tolba cu săgeţi, călăreţii, în carele lor de luptă, şi caii înaintează, iar Chirul îşi dezveleşte scutul.

7 Y our best valleys were full of war-wagons, and the horsemen took their places at the gate.

Văile tale cele mai alese sunt pline de care, iar călăreţii stau pregătiţi de luptă la porţile cetăţii;

8 T hen God took away the safe-covering of Judah. In that day you trusted in the objects you had to fight with that were stored in the house among the trees.

zidurile de apărare ale lui Iuda sunt date la o parte. În acea zi, aţi căutat după arme în Palatul Pădurii,

9 Y ou saw that there were many broken places in the wall of the city of David. You stored water in the lower pool.

aţi observat că zidurile Cetăţii lui David au multe spărturi şi aţi adunat apele în Iazul de Jos.

10 T hen you numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and tore down houses to make the wall stronger.

Aţi numărat casele din Ierusalim şi aţi dărâmat o parte din ele pentru a întări zidul.

11 Y ou made a place to store water between the two walls for the waters of the old pool. But you did not trust in God Who made it. You did not think about Him Who planned it long ago.

Între zidurile cetăţii aţi făcut un rezervor pentru apa din iazul cel vechi şi nu aţi privit spre Cel Ce a făcut aceste lucruri, nici nu aţi ţinut seama de Cel Ce a plănuit demult aceasta.

12 S o in that day the Lord God of All called you to cry in sorrow, to cut off the hair from your head, and to wear cloth made from hair.

În ziua aceea Stăpânul, Domnul Oştirilor, v-a chemat să plângeţi şi să vă jeliţi, să vă smulgeţi părul şi să vă îmbrăcaţi în sac.

13 B ut instead, there is joy and happiness, killing of cattle and sheep, eating of meat, and drinking of wine. You say, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.”

Când colo însă, la voi a fost veselie şi petrecere, au fost boi tăiaţi şi oi înjunghiate! S-a mâncat carne, s-a băut vin şi s-a strigat: «Să mâncăm şi să bem, căci mâine vom muri!»

14 B ut the Lord of All has made Himself known to me. The Lord God of All says, “For sure you will not be forgiven for this sin until you die.” Word about Shebna

Domnul Oştirilor mi S-a descoperit, spunându-mi: «Această nelegiuire a voastră nu va fi ispăşită până veţi muri», zice Stăpânul, Domnul Oştirilor.

15 T he Lord God of All says, “Come, go to this person in Shebna who is taking care of the king’s house. Say to him,

Aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul, Domnul Oştirilor: «Du-te la acel administrator, la Şebna, administratorul palatului, şi spune-i:

16 ‘ What right do you have here? Who told you that you could cut out a grave for yourself here? You cut out a grave on a high place! You cut a resting place for yourself in the rock!

‘Ce drept ai tu aici şi pe cine ai tu pe aceste locuri, de ţi-ai săpat chiar aici un mormânt, un mormânt săpat pe înălţime, un loc dăltuit în stâncă?’»

17 S ee, the Lord will throw you away without pity, O you strong man. He will take a strong hold of you

Iată! Domnul e gata să te apuce cu putere şi să te arunce de aici, bărbat puternic!

18 a nd roll you up like a ball to be thrown into a wide land. There you will die, and there your great war-wagons will be. You are a shame to your king’s house.’

Te va înfăşura strâns şi te va arunca ca pe o minge, într-o ţară întinsă; acolo vei muri şi acolo îţi vor rămâne carele tale frumoase, tu, ruşinea palatului stăpânului tău!

19 I will throw you out of your place of power. I will take you down from your place.

Te voi da afară din slujbă şi vei fi doborât de pe poziţia ta.

20 I n that day I will call My servant Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah.

«În ziua aceea îl voi chema pe slujitorul Meu, pe Eliachim, fiul lui Hilchia,

21 I will clothe him with your coat, and tie your belt around him. I will give him the power you had. He will become a father to the people of Jerusalem and to the family of Judah.

îl voi îmbrăca cu mantia ta şi-l voi încinge cu cingătoarea ta, iar autoritatea ta i-o voi da lui. El va fi un tată pentru locuitorii Ierusalimului şi pentru Casa lui Iuda.

22 T hen I will put on his shoulder the rule of the family of David. What he opens, no one will shut. What he shuts, no one will open.

Pe umărul lui voi pune cheia Casei lui David. Ce va deschide el, nimeni nu va închide, iar ce va închide, nimeni nu va deschide!

23 I will drive him like a nail in a hard place. He will become a throne of honor to his father’s house.

Îl voi împlânta ca pe un piron într-un loc tare şi va fi un tron de onoare pentru familia tatălui său.

24 S o they will put on him all the honor of his father’s house, and of his children, and every little dish, from the cups to all the jars.

Vor sprijini pe el toată gloria familiei tatălui său: urmaşii şi vlăstarii, orice vas mic, de la castroane până la ulcioare.

25 “ In that day,” says the Lord of All, “the nail driven in a hard place will give way. It will break off and fall, and the load hanging on it will be cut off. For the Lord has spoken.”

În ziua aceea, zice Domnul Oştirilor, ţăruşul împlântat în loc sigur va fi scos; va fi tăiat şi va cădea, iar povara ce se sprijinea pe el va fi doborâtă», căci Domnul a vorbit.“
