1 “ If the Lord had not been on our side,” let Israel say,

„De n-ar fi fost Domnul de partea noastră...“ – să spună acum Israel lucrul acesta!

2 “ If the Lord had not been on our side when men came against us,

De n-ar fi fost Domnul de partea noastră, când s-au ridicat oamenii împotriva noastră,

3 t hey would have eaten us up alive. Because their anger burned against us.

ne-ar fi înghiţit de vii, când li s-a aprins mânia faţă de noi;

4 T he waters would have covered us. The river would have passed over our soul.

ne-ar fi potopit apele, ne-ar fi înghiţit torentul;

5 T he angry waters would have passed over our soul.”

6 H onor and thanks be to the Lord! He has not let us be torn by their teeth.

Binecuvântat să fie Domnul, Care nu ne-a lăsat pradă colţilor lor.

7 W e have become free like a bird out of a trap. The net is broken and now we are free.

Sufletul nostru a scăpat ca o pasăre din laţul păsărarilor; laţul s-a rupt, iar noi am scăpat!

8 O ur help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

Ajutorul nostru este în Numele Domnului, Creatorul cerurilor şi al pământului.
