1 I f it had not been Yahweh who was on our side, let Israel now say,

„De n-ar fi fost Domnul de partea noastră...“ – să spună acum Israel lucrul acesta!

2 i f it had not been Yahweh who was on our side, when men rose up against us;

De n-ar fi fost Domnul de partea noastră, când s-au ridicat oamenii împotriva noastră,

3 t hen they would have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us;

ne-ar fi înghiţit de vii, când li s-a aprins mânia faţă de noi;

4 t hen the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul;

ne-ar fi potopit apele, ne-ar fi înghiţit torentul;

5 t hen the proud waters would have gone over our soul.

ne-ar fi înghiţit apele cele năprasnice.

6 B lessed be Yahweh, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth.

Binecuvântat să fie Domnul, Care nu ne-a lăsat pradă colţilor lor.

7 O ur soul has escaped like a bird out of the fowler’s snare. The snare is broken, and we have escaped.

Sufletul nostru a scăpat ca o pasăre din laţul păsărarilor; laţul s-a rupt, iar noi am scăpat!

8 O ur help is in Yahweh’s name, who made heaven and earth.

Ajutorul nostru este în Numele Domnului, Creatorul cerurilor şi al pământului.
