1 H e went out from there. He came into his own country, and his disciples followed him.

Иисус вместе с учениками ушел оттуда и пришел в Свой родной город.

2 W hen the Sabbath had come, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many hearing him were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things?” and, “What is the wisdom that is given to this man, that such mighty works come about by his hands?

Когда наступила суббота, Он начал учить в синагоге. Многие, слушая Его, удивлялись: – Откуда это у Него? Кто дал Ему такую мудрость? Как Он совершает такие чудеса?

3 I sn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judah, and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” They were offended at him.

Разве Он не плотник, не сын Марии, не брат Иакова, Иосии, Иуды и Симона? И разве не здесь, у нас, живут Его сестры? И они отвергли Его.

4 J esus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and among his own relatives, and in his own house.”

Иисус же сказал им: – Не бывает пророк без чести, разве только в городе своем и в своем доме.

5 H e could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people, and healed them.

И Он не мог совершить там ни одного чуда, лишь исцелил нескольких больных, возложив на них руки.

6 H e marveled because of their unbelief. He went around the villages teaching.

Он удивлялся неверию в этих людях. Иисус посылает двенадцать учеников на служение (Мат. 10: 1, 9-14; Лк. 9: 1-6) Иисус ходил по окрестным селениям и учил.

7 H e called to himself the twelve, and began to send them out two by two; and he gave them authority over the unclean spirits.

Он созвал двенадцать учеников и начал посылать их по двое, дав им власть над нечистыми духами.

8 H e commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, except a staff only: no bread, no wallet, no money in their purse,

Он повелел им ничего не брать с собой в дорогу, кроме посоха: ни хлеба, ни сумки, ни денег в поясе,

9 b ut to wear sandals, and not put on two tunics.

но обуваться в сандалии и не брать запасной одежды.

10 H e said to them, “Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there.

– В какой бы дом вы ни вошли, – говорил Он им, – оставайтесь там до тех пор, пока не покинете это место.

11 W hoever will not receive you nor hear you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony against them. Assuredly, I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”

А если где-либо вас не примут и не захотят слушать, то, уходя, отряхните пыль с ваших ног, пусть это будет свидетельством против них.

12 T hey went out and preached that people should repent.

Ученики отправились в путь и проповедовали людям, призывая их к покаянию.

13 T hey cast out many demons, and anointed many with oil who were sick, and healed them.

Они изгнали много демонов, и многих больных помазали оливковым маслом и исцелили. Ирод убивает Иоанна Крестителя (Мат. 14: 1-12; Лк. 9: 7-9)

14 K ing Herod heard this, for his name had become known, and he said, “John the Baptizer has risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him.”

Об Иисусе услышал царь Ирод, поскольку Имя Иисуса становилось все более известным, и некоторые говорили: – Это Иоанн Креститель воскрес из мертвых, и поэтому в Нем действуют такие силы.

15 B ut others said, “He is Elijah.” Others said, “He is a prophet, or like one of the prophets.”

Другие говорили, что это Илия. А третьи утверждали, что Он пророк, подобный пророкам древности.

16 B ut Herod, when he heard this, said, “This is John, whom I beheaded. He has risen from the dead.”

Услышав эти разговоры, Ирод решил: – Это Иоанн, которого я обезглавил, он воскрес из мертвых.

17 F or Herod himself had sent out and arrested John, and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, for he had married her.

В свое время Ирод приказал арестовать Иоанна и бросить его в темницу из-за Иродиады, жены своего брата Филиппа. Ирод женился на ней,

18 F or John said to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”

а Иоанн говорил ему: – Нельзя тебе жить с женой своего брата.

19 H erodias set herself against him, and desired to kill him, but she couldn’t,

Иродиада затаила злобу на Иоанна и хотела убить его. Однако она не могла ничего сделать,

20 f or Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. When he heard him, he did many things, and he heard him gladly.

потому что Ирод боялся Иоанна, зная, что это справедливый и святой человек, и берег его. Слушая Иоанна, Ирод приходил в смущение, но тем не менее, ему нравилось его слушать.

21 T hen a convenient day came, that Herod on his birthday made a supper for his nobles, the high officers, and the chief men of Galilee.

Наконец Иродиаде представился подходящий случай. Ирод в день своего рождения устроил пир для своих приближенных, военачальников и самых уважаемых людей Галилеи.

22 W hen the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and those sitting with him. The king said to the young lady, “Ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you.”

Дочь Иродиады вошла к ним и танцевала, и так понравилась Ироду и возлежавшим за столом гостям, что царь сказал девушке: – Проси у меня чего хочешь, и я дам тебе! –

23 H e swore to her, “Whatever you shall ask of me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom.”

и поклялся ей: – Чего ни попросишь, все дам тебе, хоть половину моего царства.

24 S he went out, and said to her mother, “What shall I ask?” She said, “The head of John the Baptizer.”

Девушка пошла к матери за советом: – Чего мне просить? А та сказала: – Проси голову Иоанна Крестителя.

25 S he came in immediately with haste to the king, and asked, “I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptizer on a platter.”

Девушка сразу же поспешила к царю и попросила: – Хочу, чтобы ты сейчас же подал мне на блюде голову Иоанна Крестителя.

26 T he king was exceedingly sorry, but for the sake of his oaths, and of his dinner guests, he didn’t wish to refuse her.

Царь сильно опечалился, но не решился ей отказать, так как поклялся перед возлежавшими за столом гостями.

27 I mmediately the king sent out a soldier of his guard, and commanded to bring John’s head, and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

Он немедленно послал палача и приказал ему принести голову Иоанна. Тот пошел в темницу, обезглавил Иоанна

28 a nd brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the young lady; and the young lady gave it to her mother.

и принес его голову на блюде девушке, а та отдала ее своей матери.

29 W hen his disciples heard this, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.

Когда об этом услышали ученики Иоанна, они пришли, забрали тело и похоронили его в гробнице. Иисус насыщает пять тысяч человек (Мат. 14: 13-21; Лк. 9: 10-17; Ин. 6: 1-13)

30 T he apostles gathered themselves together to Jesus, and they told him all things, whatever they had done, and whatever they had taught.

Апостолы возвратились к Иисусу и рассказали Ему обо всем, что они делали и чему учили народ.

31 H e said to them, “You come apart into a deserted place, and rest awhile.” For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

Иисус сказал им: – Отправляйтесь в безлюдное место и немного отдохните, – ведь все время приходило и уходило много народа, и у них даже не было времени поесть.

32 T hey went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves.

И они отправились на лодке в пустынное место.

33 T hey saw them going, and many recognized him and ran there on foot from all the cities. They arrived before them and came together to him.

Но люди видели, как они отплыли, причем многие их узнали и устремились туда посуху из всех городов, так что оказались на месте даже раньше лодки.

34 J esus came out, saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd, and he began to teach them many things.

Когда Иисус сошел на берег и увидел большую толпу, Он сжалился над людьми, потому что они были как овцы без пастуха, и начал их учить многим вещам.

35 W hen it was late in the day, his disciples came to him, and said, “This place is deserted, and it is late in the day.

Уже поздно вечером ученики подошли к Нему и сказали: – Место здесь пустынное, и уже поздно.

36 S end them away, that they may go into the surrounding country and villages, and buy themselves bread, for they have nothing to eat.”

Отпусти народ, пусть пойдут в окрестные деревни и селения и купят себе поесть.

37 B ut he answered them, “You give them something to eat.” They asked him, “Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread, and give them something to eat?”

Но Иисус ответил: – Вы дайте им есть. Ученики удивились: – Неужели Ты хочешь, чтобы мы купили еды динариев на двести и накормили этих людей?

38 H e said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go see.” When they knew, they said, “Five, and two fish.”

– Сколько у вас хлеба? – спросил Иисус. – Пойдите посмотрите. Они пошли, узнали и ответили: – Пять хлебов и две рыбы.

39 H e commanded them that everyone should sit down in groups on the green grass.

Иисус велел рассадить народ группами на зеленой траве.

40 T hey sat down in ranks, by hundreds and by fifties.

Люди возлегли, расположившись группами по сто и по пятьдесят человек.

41 H e took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke the loaves, and he gave to his disciples to set before them, and he divided the two fish among them all.

Иисус взял пять хлебов и две рыбы и, подняв глаза к небу, благословил пищу. Затем Он стал разламывать хлеб и давать Своим ученикам, чтобы те раздавали народу, и две рыбы тоже разделил на всех.

42 T hey all ate, and were filled.

Все ели и насытились,

43 T hey took up twelve baskets full of broken pieces and also of the fish.

и собрали еще двенадцать полных корзин остатков хлеба и рыбы.

44 T hose who ate the loaves were five thousand men.

Одних только мужчин ело около пяти тысяч. Иисус идет по воде (Мат. 14: 22-33; Ин. 6: 16-21)

45 I mmediately he made his disciples get into the boat, and to go ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he himself sent the multitude away.

Сразу после этого Иисус велел Своим ученикам сесть в лодку и переправиться на другую сторону озера, к Вифсаиде, а Сам Он оставался, пока не отпустил народ.

46 A fter he had taken leave of them, he went up the mountain to pray.

Простившись с народом, Иисус поднялся на гору помолиться.

47 W hen evening had come, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and he was alone on the land.

Когда наступила ночь, лодка была посреди озера, а Иисус оставался один на берегу.

48 S eeing them distressed in rowing, for the wind was contrary to them, about the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea, and he would have passed by them,

Он увидел, что им приходится грести против ветра, и около четвертой стражи ночи пошел к ним, ступая по озеру. Он хотел уже приблизиться к ним,

49 b ut they, when they saw him walking on the sea, supposed that it was a ghost, and cried out;

но они, увидев Его идущим по воде, решили, что это призрак, и закричали,

50 f or they all saw him, and were troubled. But he immediately spoke with them, and said to them, “Cheer up! It is I! Don’t be afraid.”

потому что они все видели Его и сильно испугались. Но Иисус сразу же заговорил с ними: – Успокойтесь, это Я, не бойтесь.

51 H e got into the boat with them; and the wind ceased, and they were very amazed among themselves, and marveled;

Он вошел к ним в лодку, и ветер утих. Ученики были поражены.

52 f or they hadn’t understood about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened.

Ведь они не поняли и чуда с хлебами – их сердца были закрыты. Иисус исцеляет всех, кто прикасается к Нему (Мат. 14: 34-36)

53 W hen they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret, and moored to the shore.

Переправившись на другую сторону, они пристали к берегу в Геннисарете.

54 W hen they had come out of the boat, immediately the people recognized him,

Как только они вышли из лодки, люди сразу узнали Иисуса.

55 a nd ran around that whole region, and began to bring those who were sick, on their mats, to where they heard he was.

Они обежали всю округу, рассказывая, где Он находится, и туда стали приносить на циновках больных.

56 W herever he entered, into villages, or into cities, or into the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged him that they might touch just the fringe of his garment; and as many as touched him were made well.

Где бы Он ни появлялся, в селениях или в городах, или в деревнях, люди выносили на площади больных и просили Иисуса, чтобы Он позволил им прикоснуться хотя бы к кисточке на краю Его одежды. И все, кто прикасался, выздоравливали.
