1 N ow when all this was finished, all Israel who were present went out to the cities of Judah, and broke in pieces the pillars, and cut down the Asherah poles, and broke down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, until they had destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.

2 H ezekiah appointed the divisions of the priests and the Levites after their divisions, every man according to his service, both the priests and the Levites, for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the camp of Yahweh.

Езекия распределил священников и левитов по отделениям, каждого – по его священническим или левитским обязанностям, чтобы они приносили всесожжения и жертвы примирения, совершали служение, возносили благодарения и пели хвалу у ворот Господнего жилища.

3 H e appointed also the king’s portion of his substance for the burnt offerings, for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings for the Sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the set feasts, as it is written in Yahweh’s law.

Из своего имущества царь сделал пожертвования для утреннего и вечернего всесожжений и для всесожжений по субботам, в Новолуния и установленные праздники, как написано в Законе Господа.

4 M oreover he commanded the people who lived in Jerusalem to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, that they might give themselves to Yahweh’s law.

5 A s soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel gave in abundance the first fruits of grain, new wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the tithe of all things brought they in abundantly.

Как только это постановление было обнародовано, израильтяне щедро отделили первые плоды со сборов зерна, молодого вина, оливкового масла, меда и всего, чем плодоносят поля. Они принесли и множество десятых частей от всего, что имели.

6 T he children of Israel and Judah, who lived in the cities of Judah, they also brought in the tithe of cattle and sheep, and the tithe of dedicated things which were consecrated to Yahweh their God, and laid them by heaps.

Народ Израиля и Иудеи, живший в городах Иудеи, тоже принес десятую часть от своих стад и отар и десятую часть священных вещей, которые были посвящены Господу, их Богу, – они сложили их грудами.

7 I n the third month they began to lay the foundation of the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month.

Они начали делать это в третьем месяце и закончили в седьмом.

8 W hen Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed Yahweh, and his people Israel.

Когда Езекия и его сановники пришли и увидели груды, они прославили Господа и благословили народ.

9 T hen Hezekiah questioned the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps.

Езекия спросил у священников и левитов об этих вещах,

10 A zariah the chief priest, of the house of Zadok, answered him and said, “Since people began to bring the offerings into Yahweh’s house, we have eaten and had enough, and have left plenty: for Yahweh has blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store.”

и первосвященник Азария из клана Цадока ответил: − С тех пор как народ начал приносить пожертвования в Господень дом, мы стали есть досыта, и многое остается, потому что Господь благословил Свой народ, и у нас остается такое изобилие.

11 T hen Hezekiah commanded them to prepare rooms in Yahweh’s house; and they prepared them.

Езекия повелел приготовить в доме Господа кладовые, и это было исполнено.

12 T hey brought in the offerings and the tithes and the dedicated things faithfully: and over them Conaniah the Levite was ruler, and Shimei his brother was second.

Туда были честно перенесены все пожертвования, десятины и посвященные вещи. Левит Хонания распоряжался этим, а его брат Шимей был вторым начальником после него.

13 J ehiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, were overseers under the hand of Conaniah and Shimei his brother, by the appointment of Hezekiah the king, and Azariah the ruler of God’s house.

Иехиил, Азазия, Нахат, Асаил, Иеримот, Иозавад, Елиел, Исмахия, Махаф и Беная были смотрителями под началом Хонании и его брата Шимея, по назначению царя Езекии и Азарии, распорядителя при Божьем доме.

14 K ore the son of Imnah the Levite, the porter at the east gate, was over the freewill offerings of God, to distribute the offerings of Yahweh, and the most holy things.

Коре, сын левита Имны, хранитель Восточных ворот, ведал добровольными приношениями, которые были сделаны Богу, распределяя приношения, сделанные Господу, и посвященные дары.

15 U nder him were Eden, and Miniamin, and Jeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, in their office of trust, to give to their brothers by divisions, as well to the great as to the small:

Еден, Миниамин, Иешуа, Шемая, Амария и Шекания верно помогали ему в священнических городах, распределяя приношения между своими собратьями-священниками по их группам, поровну старым и молодым.

16 b esides those who were listed by genealogy of males, from three years old and upward, even everyone who entered into Yahweh’s house, as the duty of every day required, for their service in their offices according to their divisions;

Кроме этого, они распределяли и между всеми людьми мужского пола от трех лет и старше, чьи имена были в родословных записях, – между всеми, кто входил в Господень дом, чтобы исполнять обязанности каждого дня для своего служения по своим должностям и по своим отделениям.

17 a nd those who were listed by genealogy of the priests by their fathers’ houses, and the Levites from twenty years old and upward, in their offices by their divisions;

Они распределяли между священниками, которые были внесены в родословия по их кланам, а также левитами от двадцати лет и старше по их должностям и по их отделениям.

18 a nd those who were listed by genealogy of all their little ones, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, through all the congregation: for in their office of trust they sanctified themselves in holiness.

В этих родословиях значились также все маленькие дети, жены, сыновья и дочери всего общества, потому что они были верны, сохраняя себя чистыми.

19 A lso for the sons of Aaron the priests, who were in the fields of the suburbs of their cities, in every city, there were men who were mentioned by name, to give portions to all the males among the priests, and to all who were listed by genealogy among the Levites.

Что же до священников, потомков Аарона, которые имели возделываемые земли вокруг своих городов, то, чтобы распределить должную долю всем людям мужского пола среди них и всем, кто внесен в родословия левитов, при каждом городе были поименно назначены люди.

20 H ezekiah did so throughout all Judah; and he worked that which was good and right and faithful before Yahweh his God.

Езекия поступал так по всей Иудее, делая то, что было добрым, правильным и верным перед Господом, его Богом.

21 I n every work that he began in the service of God’s house, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.

Во всем, что бы он ни предпринимал в служении Божьему дому и в соблюдении Закона и его повелений, он искал своего Бога и трудился от всего сердца. И он во всем преуспевал.
