1 N ow a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead. You know that your servant feared Yahweh. Now the creditor has come to take for himself my two children to be slaves.”

Жена одного ученика пророков кричала Елисею: – Твой слуга, мой муж, умер, и ты знаешь, что он чтил Господа. А теперь его заимодавец пришел, чтобы забрать обоих моих мальчиков в рабство.

2 E lisha said to her, “What should I do for you? Tell me: what do you have in the house?” She said, “Your servant has nothing in the house, except a pot of oil.”

Елисей ответил ей: – Как мне помочь тебе? Скажи мне, что у тебя есть дома? – У твоей служанки ничего нет, – сказала она, – лишь горшок масла.

3 T hen he said, “Go, borrow empty containers from of all your neighbors. Don’t borrow just a few containers.

Елисей сказал ей: – Ступай и попроси у соседей пустые сосуды, да набери их побольше.

4 G o in and shut the door on you and on your sons, and pour oil into all those containers; and set aside those which are full.”

Потом войди и запри за собой и за сыновьями дверь. Наливай масло в сосуды и, наполнив сосуд, отставляй в сторону.

5 S o she went from him, and shut the door on herself and on her sons. They brought the containers to her, and she poured oil.

Она пошла и заперла дверь за собой и сыновьями. Они подносили ей сосуды, а она наливала.

6 W hen the containers were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another container.” He said to her, “There isn’t another container.” Then the oil stopped flowing.

Когда все сосуды наполнились, она сказала сыну: – Дай мне еще один. Но он ответил: – Ни одного сосуда больше нет. И масло перестало течь.

7 T hen she came and told the man of God. He said, “Go, sell the oil, and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”

Она пошла и рассказала Божьему человеку, а он сказал: – Пойди, продай масло и расплатись с долгами, а на то, что останется, ты с сыновьями сможешь жить. Елисей и богатая шунамитянка

8 O ne day Elisha went to Shunem, where there was a prominent woman; and she persuaded him to eat bread. So it was, that as often as he passed by, he turned in there to eat bread.

Однажды Елисей отправился в Шунем. Там жила одна богатая женщина, которая уговорила его остаться поесть. И всякий раз, проходя мимо, он останавливался там поесть.

9 S he said to her husband, “See now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God who passes by us continually.

Она сказала мужу: – Я знаю, что человек, который часто заходит к нам, − святой Божий человек.

10 P lease let us make a little room on the roof. Let us set for him there a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp stand. When he comes to us, he can stay there.”

Давай сделаем на крыше маленькую комнату и поставим туда постель, стол, стул и светильник для него. Тогда он сможет останавливаться там всякий раз, когда будет заходить к нам.

11 O ne day he came there, and he went to the room and lay there.

Однажды, когда Елисей пришел туда, он поднялся в комнату и лег.

12 H e said to Gehazi his servant, “Call this Shunammite.” When he had called her, she stood before him.

Потом сказал своему слуге Гиезию: – Позови эту шунамитянку. Он позвал ее, и она пришла к нему.

13 H e said to him, “Say now to her, ‘Behold, you have cared for us with all this care. What is to be done for you? Would you like to be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the army?’” She answered, “I dwell among my own people.”

Елисей сказал ему: – Скажи ей: «Ты так хлопотала ради нас. Что для тебя сделать? Может, замолвить о тебе слово перед царем или начальником войска?» Она ответила: – Я живу среди своего народа.

14 H e said, “What then is to be done for her?” Gehazi answered, “Most certainly she has no son, and her husband is old.”

– Что же сделать для нее? − спросил Елисей. Гиезий сказал: – Да вот, сына у нее нет, а муж уже стар.

15 H e said, “Call her.” When he had called her, she stood in the door.

Тогда Елисей сказал: – Позови ее. Он позвал ее, и она встала в дверях.

16 H e said, “At this season, when the time comes around, you will embrace a son.” She said, “No, my lord, you man of God, do not lie to your servant.”

– Примерно в это время в следующем году, – сказал Елисей, – ты будешь держать на руках сына. – Нет, мой господин, − возразила она, − не обманывай свою служанку, Божий человек!

17 T he woman conceived, and bore a son at that season, when the time came around, as Elisha had said to her.

Но вот, эта женщина забеременела, и в следующем году, примерно в это время, родила сына, как и сказал ей Елисей. Воскрешение сына шунамитянки

18 W hen the child was grown, one day he went out to his father to the reapers.

Ребенок подрос. Однажды он вышел к отцу, который был со жнецами.

19 H e said to his father, “My head! My head!” He said to his servant, “Carry him to his mother.”

– Моя голова! Моя голова! – сказал он отцу. Отец велел слуге: – Отнеси его к матери.

20 W hen he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees until noon, and then died.

Слуга поднял его и отнес к матери. Ребенок сидел у нее на коленях до полудня, а потом умер.

21 S he went up and laid him on the man of God’s bed, and shut the door on him, and went out.

Она поднялась и положила его на постель Божьего человека, заперла дверь и вышла.

22 S he called to her husband, and said, “Please send me one of the servants, and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of God, and come again.”

Затем она позвала мужа и сказала: – Прошу, пошли мне одного из слуг и осла, чтобы мне быстро съездить к Божьему человеку и вернуться.

23 H e said, “Why would you want go to him today? It is not a new moon or a Sabbath.” She said, “It’s alright.”

– Зачем ходить к нему сегодня? – спросил он. – Сегодня же не праздник Новолуния, не суббота. – Все будет хорошо, − ответила она.

24 T hen she saddled a donkey, and said to her servant, “Drive, and go forward! Don’t slow down for me, unless I ask you to.”

Она оседлала осла и сказала слуге: – Веди. Не останавливайся, пока не скажу.

25 S o she went, and came to the man of God to Mount Carmel. When the man of God saw her afar off, he said to Gehazi his servant, “Behold, there is the Shunammite.

Она отправилась в путь и пришла к Божьему человеку на гору Кармил. Увидев ее издалека, Божий человек сказал своему слуге Гиезию: – Смотри! Это шунамитянка!

26 P lease run now to meet her, and ask her, ‘Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with your child?’” She answered, “It is well.”

Беги ей навстречу и спроси ее: «Здорова ли ты? Здоров ли твой муж? Здоров ли твой ребенок?» – Здоровы, – сказала она.

27 W hen she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught hold of his feet. Gehazi came near to thrust her away; but the man of God said, “Leave her alone; for her soul is troubled within her; and Yahweh has hidden it from me, and has not told me.”

Когда же она пришла к Божьему человеку на гору, она обняла его ноги. Гиезий подошел, чтобы оттолкнуть ее, но Божий человек сказал: – Оставь ее! Она в большом горе, но Господь утаил это от меня и не сказал мне.

28 T hen she said, “Did I ask you for a son, my lord? Didn’t I say, ‘Do not deceive me’?”

– Разве я просила тебя о сыне, мой господин? – сказала она. – Разве я не говорила тебе: «Не буди во мне надежду?»

29 T hen he said to Gehazi, “Tuck your cloak into your belt, take my staff in your hand, and go your way. If you meet any man, don’t greet him; and if anyone greets you, don’t answer him again. Then lay my staff on the child’s face.”

Елисей сказал Гиезию: – Заправь полы плаща под пояс, возьми в руку мой посох и беги. Если встретишь кого, не приветствуй, и если кто будет приветствовать тебя, не отвечай. Положи мой посох мальчику на лицо.

30 T he child’s mother said, “As Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” So he arose, and followed her.

Но мать ребенка сказала: – Верно, как и то, что Господь жив и жив ты сам, – я не отстану от тебя. Тогда он поднялся и пошел за ней.

31 G ehazi went ahead of them, and laid the staff on the child’s face; but there was no voice and or hearing. Therefore he returned to meet him, and told him, “The child has not awakened.”

Гиезий шел впереди их и положил посох мальчику на лицо, но в ответ не раздалось ни звука. Гиезий вернулся навстречу Елисею и сказал ему: – Мальчик не пробудился.

32 W hen Elisha had come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and lying on his bed.

Когда Елисей пришел в дом, мальчик лежал мертвым на его постели.

33 H e went in therefore, and shut the door on them both, and prayed to Yahweh.

Он вошел, запер за собой дверь и помолился Господу.

34 H e went up, and lay on the child, and put his mouth on his mouth, and his eyes on his eyes, and his hands on his hands. He stretched himself on him; and the child’s flesh grew warm.

После этого он поднялся на постель и лег на мальчика − рот ко рту, глаза к глазам, руки к рукам. Когда он простерся над ним, тело мальчика согрелось.

35 T hen he returned, and walked in the house once back and forth; and went up, and stretched himself out on him. Then the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.

Елисей отвернулся, походил по комнате взад и вперед и, поднявшись на постель, простерся над ним еще раз. Мальчик семь раз чихнул и открыл глаза.

36 H e called Gehazi, and said, “Call this Shunammite!” So he called her. When she had come in to him, he said, “Take up your son.”

Елисей позвал Гиезия и сказал: – Позови шунамитянку. И тот сделал это. Когда она пришла, он сказал: – Возьми своего сына.

37 T hen she went in, fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground; then she picked up her son, and went out.

Она вошла, упала ему в ноги и поклонилась до земли. Затем она взяла сына и вышла. Ядовитая похлебка

38 E lisha came again to Gilgal. There was a famine in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said to his servant, “Get the large pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.”

Елисей же вернулся в Гилгал. В той области тогда был голод. Когда ученики пророков встретили его, он сказал слуге: – Поставь большой котел и свари для этих людей похлебки.

39 O ne went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered a lap full of wild gourds from it, and came and cut them up into the pot of stew; for they didn’t recognize them.

Один из них вышел в поле собирать овощи и нашел дикие огурцы. Он набрал полную одежду диких плодов с него и, когда вернулся, накрошил их в котел с похлебкой, хотя никто не знал, что это такое.

40 S o they poured out for the men to eat. As they were eating some of the stew, they cried out, and said, “Man of God, there is death in the pot!” And they could not eat it.

Похлебку разлили для людей, но начав есть, они закричали: – Божий человек, в котле смерть! − и не стали есть похлебку.

41 B ut he said, “Then bring meal.” He threw it into the pot; and he said, “Serve it to the people, that they may eat.” And there was nothing harmful in the pot.

Елисей сказал: – Принесите муки. Он бросил ее в котел и сказал: – Разливай людям, чтобы они ели. И в котле не осталось ничего вредного. Насыщение ста человек

42 A man from Baal Shalishah came, and brought the man of God bread some of the first fruits: twenty loaves of barley, and fresh ears of grain in his sack. He said, “Give to the people, that they may eat.”

Из Баал-Шалиши пришел некий человек, который принес Божьему человеку двадцать ячменных хлебов, испеченных из зерна первого урожая, и колосья с молодым зерном. – Отдай людям, пусть едят, − сказал Елисей.

43 H is servant said, “What, should I set this before a hundred men?” But he said, “Give the people, that they may eat; for Yahweh says, ‘They will eat, and will have some left over.’”

– Как же я накормлю этим сто человек? − спросил слуга. Но Елисей ответил: – Отдай людям, пусть едят. Ведь так говорит Господь: «Они наедятся, и еще останется».

44 S o he set it before them, and they ate, and had some left over, according to Yahweh’s word.

Тогда он раздал им, и они ели, и еще осталось, по слову Господа.
