1 A nd God saith unto Jacob, `Rise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there, and make there an altar to God, who appeared unto thee in thy fleeing from the face of Esau thy brother.'

След това Бог каза на Якова: Стани, иди на Ветил и живей там; и там издигни олтар на Бога, Който ти се яви, когато бягаше от лицето на брата си Исава.

2 A nd Jacob saith unto his household, and unto all who with him, `Turn aside the gods of the stranger which in your midst, and cleanse yourselves, and change your garments;

Тогава Яков каза на домочадието си и на всичките, които бяха с него: Махнете чуждите богове, които са между вас, очистете се и променете дрехите си;

3 a nd we rise, and go up to Bethel, and I make there an altar to God, who is answering me in the day of my distress, and is with me in the way that I have gone.'

и да станем да отидем във Ветил, и там ще издигна олтар на Бога, Който ме послуша в деня на бедствието ми и беше с мене в пътя, по който ходих.

4 A nd they give unto Jacob all the gods of the stranger that in their hand, and the rings that in their ears, and Jacob hideth them under the oak which by Shechem;

И тъй, те дадоха на Якова всичките чужди богове, що бяха в ръцете им и обиците, които бяха на ушите им; и Яков ги скри под дъба, който бе при Сихем.

5 a nd they journey, and the terror of God is on the cities which round about them, and they have not pursued after the sons of Jacob.

След това си тръгнаха; и страх Божи беше върху градовете, които бяха наоколо им, така че не преследваха Якововите синове.

6 A nd Jacob cometh in to Luz which in the land of Canaan (it Bethel), he and all the people who with him,

И тъй, Яков дойде в Луз, (който е Ветил), в Ханаанската земя, той и всичките люде, които бяха с него.

7 a nd he buildeth there an altar, and proclaimeth at the place the God of Bethel: for there had God been revealed unto him, in his fleeing from the face of his brother.

И там издигна олтар и наименува мястото Ел-Ветил {Т.е., Бог на Ветил.}, защото когато бягаше от лицето на брата си, там му се яви Бог.

8 A nd Deborah, Rebekah's nurse, dieth, and she is buried at the lower part of Bethel, under the oak, and he calleth its name `Oak of weeping.'

По това време умря Девора, Ревекината бавачка, и я погребаха под дъба, по-долу от Ветил; за това се наименува Дъба на Плача {Алон-вакут.}.

9 A nd God appeareth unto Jacob again, in his coming from Padan-Aram, and blesseth him;

И Бог пак се яви на Якова, след завръщането му от Падан-арам, и го благослови.

10 a nd God saith to him, `Thy name Jacob: thy name is no more called Jacob, but Israel is thy name;' and He calleth his name Israel.

Каза му Бог: Името ти <наистина> е Яков; но не ще се именуваш вече Яков, но Израил ще ти бъде името. И наименува го Израил.

11 A nd God saith to him, `I God Almighty; be fruitful and multiply, a nation and an assembly of nations is from thee, and kings from thy loins go out;

Бог му рече още: Аз съм Бог Всемогъщий; плоди се и размножавай се. Народ, даже редица народи ще произлязат от тебе, и царе ще излязат от чреслата ти;

12 a nd the land which I have given to Abraham and to Isaac -- to thee I give it, yea to thy seed after thee I give the land.'

и земята, която дадох на Авраама и Исаака, на тебе ще я дам; и на потомството ти след тебе ще дам земята.

13 A nd God goeth up from him, in the place where He hath spoken with him.

Тогава Бог се възнесе от него, от мястото, гдето му говори.

14 A nd Jacob setteth up a standing pillar in the place where He hath spoken with him, a standing pillar of stone, and he poureth on it an oblation, and he poureth on it oil;

И Яков издигна стълб на мястото, гдето му говори, каменен стълб и принесе възлияние на него и го поля с масло.

15 a nd Jacob calleth the name of the place where God spake with him Bethel.

И Яков наименува мястото, гдето Бог говори с него, Ветил.

16 A nd they journey from Bethel, and there is yet a kibrath of land before entering Ephratha, and Rachel beareth, and is sharply pained in her bearing;

След това тръгнаха от Ветил; а като стигнаха близо до Ефрата, Рахил роди и много се мъчеше при раждането си.

17 a nd it cometh to pass, in her being sharply pained in her bearing, that the midwife saith to her, `Fear not, for this also a son for thee.'

А като се мъчеше да роди, бабата й рече: Не бой се, защото имаш още един син.

18 A nd it cometh to pass in the going out of her soul (for she died), that she calleth his name Ben-Oni; and his father called him Benjamin;

А като предаваше душа, (защото умря), Рахил го наименува Венони {Т.е., Син на скръбта ми.}, а баща му го нарече Вениамин {Т.е., Син на десница.}.

19 a nd Rachel dieth, and is buried in the way to Ephratha, which Bethlehem,

Така Рахил умря и я погребаха край пътя за Ефрата, (която е Витлеем).

20 a nd Jacob setteth up a standing pillar over her grave; which the standing pillar of Rachel's grave unto this day.

И над гроба й Яков издигна стълб; той е и до днес стълб на Рахилиния гроб.

21 A nd Israel journeyeth, and stretcheth out his tent beyond the tower of Edar;

Подир това Израил тръгна и разпъна шатрата си оттатък Мигдал-едер.

22 a nd it cometh to pass in Israel's dwelling in that land, that Reuben goeth, and lieth with Bilhah his father's concubine; and Israel heareth.

И когато Израил живееше в оная земя, Рувим отиде и лежа с наложницата на баща си Вала; и Израил се научи за това. А Якововите синове бяха дванадесет души:

23 A nd the sons of Jacob are twelve. Sons of Leah: Jacob's first-born Reuben, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun.

синовете на Лия: Рувим, Якововия първороден, Симеон, Левий, Юда Исахар и Завулон;

24 S ons of Rachel: Joseph and Benjamin.

синовете от Рахил: Иосиф и Вениамин;

25 A nd sons of Bilhah, Rachel's maid-servant: Dan and Naphtali.

а синовете на Рахилината слугиня Вала: Дан и Нефталим;

26 A nd sons of Zilpah, Leah's maid-servant: Gad and Asher. These sons of Jacob, who have been born to him in Padan-Aram.

и синовете от Лиината слугиня Зелфа: Гад и Асир. Тия са Якововите синове, които му се родиха в Падан-арам.

27 A nd Jacob cometh unto Isaac his father, at Mamre, the city of Arba (which Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac have sojourned.

После Яков дойде при баща си Исаака в Мамврий, в Кириат-арва, (който е Хеврон), дето Авраам и Исаак бяха престояли.

28 A nd the days of Isaac are a hundred and eighty years,

И дните на Исаака станаха сто и осемдесет години.

29 a nd Isaac expireth, and dieth, and is gathered unto his people, aged and satisfied with days; and bury him do Esau and Jacob his sons.

И Исаак като издъхна, умря стар и сит от дни, прибра се при людете си; и синовете му Исав и Яков го погребаха.
