1 I n the second year of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel reigned hath Amaziah son of Joash king of Judah;

Във втората година на Израилевия цар Иоас, Иоахазовия син, се възцари Амасия, син на Юдовия цар Иоас.

2 a son of twenty and five years was he in his reigning, and twenty and nine years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother Jehoaddan of Jerusalem,

Той бе двадесет и пет години на възраст когато се възцари, и царува двадесет и девет години в Ерусалим. И името на майка му бе Иоадана, от Ерусалим.

3 a nd he doth that which right in the eyes of Jehovah, only not like David his father, according to all that Joash his father did he hath done,

Той върши това, което бе право пред Господа, но не както баща си Давида; той постъпваше съвсем според както бе постъпил баща му Иоас.

4 o nly, the high places have not turned aside -- yet are the people sacrificing and making perfume in high places.

Обаче високите места не се отмахнаха; людете жертвуваха и кадяха по високите места.

5 A nd it cometh to pass, when the kingdom hath been strong in his hand, that he smiteth his servants, those smiting the king his father,

И щом се закрепи царството в ръката му, той умъртви слугите си, които бяха убили баща му царя.

6 a nd the sons of those smiting he hath not put to death, as it is written in the book of the law of Moses that Jehovah commanded, saying, `Fathers are not put to death for sons, and sons are not put to death for fathers, but each for his own sin is put to death.'

Но чадата на убийците не умъртви, според писаното в книгата на Моисеевия закон, гдето Господ заповядвайки, каза: Бащите да се не умъртвяват поради чадата, нито чадата да се умъртвяват поради бащите; но всеки да се умъртвява за своя си грях.

7 H e hath smitten Edom, in the valley of salt -- ten thousand, and seized Selah in war, and calleth its name Joktheel unto this day,

Той изби десет души от Едома в долината на солта, и, като превзе <град> Села с бой, нарече го Иоктеил, <както се казва> и до днес.

8 t hen hath Amaziah sent messengers unto Jehoash son of Jehoahaz, son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, `Come, we look one another in the face.'

Тогава Амасия прати човеци до Израилевия цар Иоас, син на Иоахаза, Ииуевия син да кажат: Ела да се погледнем един други в лице.

9 A nd Jehoash king of Israel sendeth unto Amaziah king of Judah, saying, `The thorn that in Lebanon hath sent unto the cedar that in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son for a wife; and pass by doth a beast of the field that in Lebanon, and treadeth down the thorn.

А Израилевият цар Иоас прати до Юдовия цар Амасия да рекат: Ливанският трън пратил до ливанския кедър да кажат: Дай дъщеря си на сина ми за жена. Но един звяр, който бил в Ливан, заминал та стъпкал тръна.

10 T hou hast certainly smitten Edom, and thy heart hath lifted thee up; be honoured, and abide in thy house; and why dost thou stir thyself up in evil, that thou hast fallen, thou, and Judah with thee?'

Ти наистина порази Едома, и надигна се сърцето ти; радвай се на славата си и седи у дома си; защо да се заплиташ за своята си вреда та да паднеш, ти и Юда с тебе?

11 A nd Amaziah hath not hearkened, and go up doth Jehoash king of Israel, and they look one another in the face, he and Amaziah king of Judah, in Beth-Shemesh, that Judah's,

Но Амасия не послуша. Прочее, Израилевият цар Иоас отиде, та се погледнаха един други в лице, той и Юдовият цар Амасия, във Ветсемес, който принадлежи на Юда.

12 a nd Judah is smitten before Israel, and they flee each to his tent.

И Юда биде поразен пред Израиля; и побягнаха всеки в шатъра си.

13 A nd Amaziah king of Judah, son of Jehoash son of Ahaziah, caught hath Jehoash king of Israel in Beth-Shemesh, and they come in to Jerusalem, and he bursteth through the wall of Jerusalem, at the gate of Ephraim unto the gate of the corner, four hundred cubits,

И Израилевият цар Иоас хвана във Ветсемес Юдовия цар Амасия, син на Иоаса Охозиевия син; и дойде в Ерусалим та събори четиристотин лакти от Ерусалимската стена, от Ефремовата порта до портата на ъгъла.

14 a nd hath taken all the gold and the silver, and all the vessels that are found in the house of Jehovah, and in the treasures of the house of the king, and the sons of the pledges, and turneth back to Samaria.

И като взе всичкото злато и сребро, и всичките съдове, които се намериха в Господния дом и в съкровищата на царската къща, тоже и заложници, върна се в Самария.

15 A nd the rest of the matters of Jehoash that he did, and his might, and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

(А останалите дела, които извърши Иоас и юначествата му, и как воюва с Юдовия цар Амасия, не са ли написани в Книгата на летописите на Израилевите царе?

16 A nd Jehoash lieth with his fathers, and is buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel, and reign doth Jeroboam his son in his stead.

И Иоас заспа с бащите си, и биде погребан в Самария с Израилевите царе; и вместо него се възцари син му Еровоам).

17 A nd Amaziah son of Joash king of Judah liveth after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel fifteen years,

А след смъртта на Израилевия цар Иоас, Иоахазовия син, Юдовият цар Амасия, Иоасовият син, живя петнадесет години.

18 a nd the rest of the matters of Amaziah are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?

А останалите дела на Амасия не са ли написани в Книгата на летописите на Юдовите царе?

19 A nd they make a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem, and he fleeth to Lachish, and they send after him to Lachish, and put him to death there,

И понеже направиха заговор против него в Ерусалим, той побягна в Лахис; но пратиха след него в Лахис та го убиха там.

20 a nd lift him up on the horses, and he is buried in Jerusalem, with his fathers, in the city of David.

И докараха го на коне; и биде погребан в Ерусалим с бащите си в Давидовия град.

21 A nd all the people of Judah take Azariah, and he a son of sixteen years, and cause him to reign instead of his father Amaziah;

Тогава всичките Юдови люде взеха Азария {В гл. 15: 13 и 2 Лет. 26: 1, Озия.}, който бе шестнадесет години на възраст, та го направиха цар вместо баща му Амасия.

22 h e hath built Elath, and bringeth it back to Judah, after the lying of the king with his fathers.

Той съгради Елат и го възвърна на Юда след като <баща му> царят заспа с бащите си.

23 I n the fifteenth year of Amaziah son of Joash king of Judah, reigned hath Jeroboam son of Joash king of Israel in Samaria -- forty and one years,

В петнадесетата година на Юдовия цар Амасия, син на Иоаса, се възцари в Самария Еровоам, син на Израилевия цар Иоас, <и царува> четиридесет и една година.

24 a nd he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, he hath not turned aside from all the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat that he caused Israel to sin.

Той върши зло пред Господа; не се остави ни от един от греховете на Еровоама Наватовия син, с които направи Израиля да греши.

25 H e hath brought back the border of Israel, from the entering in of Hamath unto the sea of the desert, according to the word of Jehovah, God of Israel, that He spake by the hand of His servant Jonah son of Amittai the prophet, who of Gath-Hepher,

Той възстанови границата на Израиля от прохода на Емат до полското море, според словото, което Господ Израилевият Бог говори чрез слугата Си Иона Аматиевия син, пророкът, който бе от Гетефер.

26 f or Jehovah hath seen the affliction of Israel -- very bitter, and there is none restrained, and there is none left, and there is no helper to Israel;

Защото Господ видя, че притеснението на Израиля беше много горчиво, понеже нямаше нито малолетен, нито пълнолетен {Еврейски: Нито затворен, нито свободен.}, който да помогне на Израиля.

27 a nd Jehovah hath not spoken to blot out the name of Israel from under the heavens, and saveth them by the hand of Jeroboam son of Joash.

И Господ не рече да изличи изпод небето името на Израиля, но ги избави чрез ръката на Еровоама Иоасовия син.

28 A nd the rest of the matters of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his might with which he fought, and with which he brought back Damascus, and Hamath of Judah, into Israel, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

А останалите дела на Еровоама, и всичко що извърши, и юначествата му, как воюва, и как възвърна на Израиля Дамаск и Емат, <които бяха подчинени> на Юда, не са ли написани в Книгата на летописите на Израилевите царе?

29 A nd Jeroboam lieth with his fathers, with the kings of Israel, and reign doth Zechariah his son in his stead.

И Еровоам заспа с бащите си Израилевите царе; и вместо него се възцари син му Захария.
