1 A nd David fleeth from Naioth in Ramah, and cometh, and saith before Jonathan, `What have I done? what mine iniquity? and what my sin before thy father, that he is seeking my life?'

Тогава Давид побягна от Навиот у Рама, та дойде и рече пред Ионатана: Що съм сторил? Каква е неправдата ми? и какъв е грехът ми пред баща ти, та иска живота ми?

2 A nd he saith to him, `Far be it! thou dost not die; lo, my father doth not do anything great or small and doth not uncover mine ear; and wherefore doth my father hide from me this thing? this is not.'

А той му каза: Не дай, Боже! ти няма да умреш; ето баща ми не върши нищо, ни голямо ни малко, без да ми яви; и защо би скрил баща ми това нещо от мене? Не е така.

3 A nd David sweareth again, and saith, `Thy father hath certainly known that I have found grace in thine eyes, and he saith, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved; and yet, Jehovah liveth, and thy soul liveth, but -- as a step between me and death.'

Обаче Давид се закле и рече: Баща ти знае добре, че аз съм придобил твоето благоволение, затова си казва: да не знае това Ионатан, за да се не наскърби; но <заклевам се> в живота на Господа и в живота на душата ти, само една крачка има между мене и смъртта.

4 A nd Jonathan saith to David, `What doth thy soul say? -- and I do it for thee.'

Тогава Ионатан каза на Давида: Каквото поиска душата ти, аз ще го сторя за тебе.

5 A nd David saith unto Jonathan, `Lo, the new moon to-morrow; and I do certainly sit with the king to eat; and thou hast sent me away, and I have been hidden in a field till the third evening;

И Давид каза на Ионатана: Ето, утре е новолуние, когато съм длъжен да седя с царя на ядене; но позволи ми да ида да се крия на полето до вечерта на третия ден.

6 i f thy father at all look after me, and thou hast said, David asked earnestly of me to run to Beth-Lehem his city, for a sacrifice of the days there for all the family.

Ако баща ти забележи, че ме няма, тогава кажи: Давид настоятелно поиска позволение от мене да отиде бърже в града си Витлеем, защото там става годишната жертва за цялото му семейство.

7 I f thus he say: Good; peace for thy servant; and if it be very displeasing to him -- know that the evil hath been determined by him;

Ако рече така: Добре, тогава слугата ти ще има мир; но ако се разгневи много, да знаеш, че злото е решено от него.

8 a nd thou hast done kindness, to thy servant, for into a covenant of Jehovah thou hast brought thy servant with thee; -- and if there is in me iniquity, put thou me to death; and unto thy father, why is this -- thou dost bring me in?'

И тъй, покажи милост към слугата си; защото ти си въвел слугата си в завет Господен със себе си. Но ако има неправда в мене, убий ме сам ти; защо да ме водиш при баща си?

9 A nd Jonathan saith, `Far be it from thee! for I certainly do not know that the evil hath been determined by my father to come upon thee, and I do not declare it to thee.'

И рече Ионатан: Да ти не стане това никога; защото, ако бих узнал наистина, че от баща ми е решено да дойде злото върху тебе, нямаше ли да ти го известя?

10 A nd David saith unto Jonathan, `Who doth declare to me? or what thy father doth answer thee sharply?'

Тогава Давид рече на Ионатана: Кой ще ми извести, ако ти отговори баща ти сърдито?

11 A nd Jonathan saith unto David, `Come, and we go out into the field;' and they go out both of them into the field.

А Ионатан рече на Давида: Дойди, да излезем на полето. И тъй, двамата излязоха на полето.

12 A nd Jonathan saith unto David, `Jehovah, God of Israel -- when I search my father, about time to-morrow the third, and lo, good towards David, and I do not then send unto thee, and have uncovered thine ear --

И Ионатан каза на Давида: Господ Израилевият Бог <да бъде свидетел> ако, като изпитам баща си, утре около тоя час, или на третия ден, и, ето, има нещо добро за Давида, не изпратя тогава до тебе да ти го известя.

13 t hus doth Jehovah do to Jonathan, and thus doth He add; when the evil concerning thee is good to my father, then I have uncovered thine ear, and sent thee away, and thou hast gone in peace, and Jehovah is with thee, as he was with my father;

Така да направи Господ на Ионатана, да! и повече да притури, ако, в случай, че баща ми е решил да ти стори зло, не ти известя това, и не те отпратя, за да отидеш с мир; и Господ да бъде с тебе както е бил с баща ми!

14 a nd not only while I am alive dost thou do with me the kindness of Jehovah, and I die not,

И не само докато съм жив показвай към мене милост Господна,

15 b ut thou dost not cut off thy kindness from my house unto the age, nor in Jehovah's cutting off the enemies of David, each one from off the face of the ground.'

но и като умра, до века не отсичай милостта си от дома ми, даже и тогава, когато Господ ще е изтребил от лицето на земята всеки от Давидовите неприятели.

16 A nd Jonathan covenanteth with the house of David, and Jehovah hath sought from the hand of the enemies of David;

И така, Ионатан направи завет с Давидовия дом, <и рече>: Господ да изиска <това> чрез Давидовите неприятели!

17 a nd Jonathan addeth to cause David to swear, because he loveth him, for with the love of his own soul he hath loved him.

И Ионатан накара Давида да се закълне още веднъж, поради любовта, която имаше към него; защото го обичаше, както обичаше собствената си душа.

18 A nd Jonathan saith to him, `To-morrow new moon, and thou hast been looked after, for thy seat is looked after;

Тогава Ионатан му каза: Утре е новолуние; и ще видят, че те няма, защото твоето място ще бъде празно.

19 a nd on the third day thou dost certainly come down, and hast come in unto the place where thou wast hidden in the day of the work, and hast remained near the stone Ezel.

Като престоиш три дена, слез по-скоро и дойди на мястото, дето беше се скрил в деня, когато <разисквахме> оная работа, и седни при скалата Езил.

20 ` And I shoot three of the arrows at the side, sending out for myself at a mark;

И аз ще изстрелям три стрели в страната й, като че стрелям в прицел;

21 a nd lo, I send the youth: Go, find the arrows. If I at all say to the youth, Lo, the arrows on this side of thee -- take them, -- then come thou, for peace for thee, and there is nothing; Jehovah liveth.

и, ето, ще пратя момчето и ще му кажа: Иди намери стрелите. Ако река нарочно на момчето: Ето стрелите са отсам тебе, вземи ги; тогава ти дойди, защото има мир за тебе, и няма никаква беда - <заклевам се за това> в живота на Господа.

22 A nd if thus I say to the young man, Lo, the arrows beyond thee, -- go, for Jehovah hath sent thee away;

Но ако река на момчето така: Ето, стрелите са оттатък тебе, тогава иди в пътя си, защото Господ те е отпратил.

23 a s to the thing which we have spoken, I and thou, lo, Jehovah between me and thee -- unto the age.'

А относно работата, която аз и ти сме говорили, ето, Господ да бъде <свидетел> между мене и тебе до века.

24 A nd David is hidden in the field, and it is the new moon, and the king sitteth down by the food to eat,

И тъй, Давид се скри на полето; и когато дойде новолунието, царят седна <на трапезата> да яде.

25 a nd the king sitteth on his seat, as time by time, on a seat by the wall, and Jonathan riseth, and Abner sitteth at the side of Saul, and David's place is looked after.

И като седна царят на мястото си, както винаги, на едно място при стената, Ионатан стана, и Авенир седна при Саула, а Давидовото място беше празно.

26 A nd Saul hath not spoken anything on that day, for he said, `It an accident; he is not clean -- surely not clean.'

Саул, обаче, не каза нищо през оня ден, защото си каза: Ще му се е случило нещо, та не е чист; без друго ще е нечист.

27 A nd it cometh to pass on the second morrow of the new moon, that David's place is looked after, and Saul saith unto Jonathan his son, `Wherefore hath the son of Jesse not come in, either yesterday or to-day, unto the food?'

А на следния ден, вторият на месеца, Давидовото място <пак> беше празно; затова Саул рече на сина си Ионатана: Защо Есеевият син не дойде да яде ни вчера, ни днес?

28 A nd Jonathan answereth Saul, `David hath been earnestly asked of me unto Beth-Lehem,

И Ионатан отговори на Саула: Давид настоятелно поиска позволение от мене да отиде във Витлеем, като каза:

29 a nd he saith, Send me away, I pray thee, for a family sacrifice we have in the city, and my brother himself hath given command to me, and now, if I have found grace in thine eyes, let me go away, I pray thee, and see my brethren; therefore he hath not come unto the table of the king.'

Пусни ме, моля, защото семейството ни има жертва в града, и брат ми ми заръча да ида; сега, прочее, ако съм придобил твоето благоволение, позволи ми, моля, да отида и да видя братята си. Затова не дойде на царската трапеза.

30 A nd the anger of Saul burneth against Jonathan, and he saith to him, `Son of a perverse rebellious woman! have I not known that thou art fixing on the son of Jesse to thy shame, and to the shame of the nakedness of thy mother?

Тогава гневът на Саула пламна против Ионатана, и той му каза: Развратени и отстъпни сине, не зная ли, че ти си избрал Есеевия син за срам на тебе и за срам на майчината ти голота?

31 f or all the days that the son of Jesse liveth on the ground thou art not established, thou and thy kingdom; and now, send and bring him unto me, for he a son of death.'

Защото, докато Есеевият син живее на земята, ни ти, ни царството ти, ще се утвърди. Затова прати сега та го доведи при мене, защото непременно ще умре.

32 A nd Jonathan answereth Saul his father, and saith unto him, `Why is he put to death? what hath he done?'

А Ионатан отговори на баща си Саула като му каза: Защо да се убие? що е сторил?

33 A nd Saul casteth the javelin at him to smite him, and Jonathan knoweth that it hath been determined by his father to put David to death.

А Саул хвърли копието на него, за да го удари, от което Ионатан разбра, че баща му беше решил да убие Давида.

34 A nd Jonathan riseth from the table in the heat of anger, and hath not eaten food on the second day of the new moon, for he hath been grieved for David, for his father put him to shame.

И така Ионатан стана от трапезата разярен от гняв, и не яде никаква храна втория ден на месеца; защото беше наскърбен за Давида, понеже баща му го беше опозорил.

35 A nd it cometh to pass in the morning, that Jonathan goeth out into the field for the appointment with David, and a little youth with him.

И на утринта Ионатан излезе на полето, на мястото, което беше определил с Давида, и водеше със себе си едно малко момче.

36 A nd he saith to his youth, `Run, find, I pray thee, the arrows which I am shooting;' the youth is running, and he hath shot the arrow, causing to pass over him.

И рече на момчето си: Тичай, намери стрелите, които ще изстрелям. И като тичаше момчето, той изстреля една стрела по-нататък от него.

37 A nd the youth cometh unto the place of the arrow which Jonathan hath shot, and Jonathan calleth after the youth, and saith, `Is not the arrow beyond thee?'

И когато дойде момчето на мястото, гдето беше стрелата, която Ионатан изстреля, Ионатан викна след момчето казвайки: Не е ли стрелата по-нататък от тебе?

38 a nd Jonathan calleth after the youth, `Speed, haste, stand not;' and Jonathan's youth gathereth the arrows, and cometh unto his lord.

И Ионатан извика след момчето: Скоро побързай, не стой. И Ионатановото момче, като събра стрелите, дойде при господаря си.

39 A nd the youth hath not known anything, only Jonathan and David knew the word.

Но момчето не знаеше нищо; само Ионатан и Давид знаеха работата.

40 A nd Jonathan giveth his weapons unto the youth whom he hath, and saith to him, `Go, carry into the city.'

Тогава Ионатан даде оръжията си на момчето, което му <слугуваше>, и му каза: Иди занеси ги в града.

41 T he youth hath gone, and David hath risen from Ezel, at the south, and falleth on his face to the earth, and boweth himself three times, and they kiss one another, and they weep one with another, till David exerted himself;

А щом отиде момчето, Давид стана от <едно място> към юг, и като падна с лицето си на земята, поклони се три пъти; и целуваха се един друг и плакаха и двамата - а Давид твърде много.

42 a nd Jonathan saith to David, `Go in peace, in that we have sworn -- we two -- in the name of Jehovah, saying, Jehovah is between me and thee, and between my seed and thy seed -- unto the age;' and he riseth and goeth; and Jonathan hath gone in to the city.

И Ионатан каза на Давида: Иди с мир, както се заклехме ние двамата в Господното име, като казахме: Господ да бъде <свидетел> между мене и тебе, и между моето потомство и твоето потомство до века! И <Давид> стана та си отиде; а Ионатан влезе в града.
