1 ` In the third year of the reign of Belshazzar the king, a vision hath appeared unto me -- I Daniel -- after that which had appeared unto me at the beginning.

В третата година от царуването на цар Валтасара, видение ми се яви, на мене Даниила, подир онова, което бе ми се явило по-напред.

2 A nd I see in a vision, and it cometh to pass, in my seeing, and I in Shushan the palace that in Elam the province, and I see in a vision, and I have been by the stream Ulai.

Видях във видението, (а когато видях, бях в палата Суса, който е в областта Елам; и когато видях във видението бях при потока Улай), -

3 A nd I lift up mine eyes, and look, and lo, a certain ram is standing before the stream, and it hath two horns, and the two horns high; and the one higher than the other, and the high one is coming up last.

прочее, подигнах очите си и видях, и, ето, стоеше пред реката един овен, който имаше два рога; роговете бяха високи, но единият по-висок от другия; и по-високият беше израсъл по-после.

4 I have seen the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward, and no living creatures do stand before it, and there is none delivering out of its hand, and it hath done according to its pleasure, and hath exerted itself.

Видях, че овенът бодеше към запад, към север и към юг; и никой звяр не можеше да устои пред него, и нямаше кой да избави от силата му; но постъпваше по волята си и се носеше горделиво.

5 ` And I have been considering, and lo, a young he-goat hath come from the west, over the face of the whole earth, whom none is touching in the earth; as to the young he-goat, a conspicuous horn between its eyes.

А като размишлявах, ето, козел идеше от запад по лицето на целия свят, без да се допира до земята; и козелът имаше бележит рог между очите си.

6 A nd it cometh unto the ram possessing the two horns, that I had seen standing before the stream, and runneth unto it in the fury of its power.

Той дойде до овена, който имаше двата рога, който видях да стои пред потока, и завтече се върху него с устремителната си сила.

7 A nd I have seen it coming near the ram, and it becometh embittered at it, and smiteth the ram, and breaketh its two horns, and there hath been no power in the ram to stand before it, and it casteth it to the earth, and trampleth it down, and there hath been no deliverer to the ram out of its power.

И видях, че се приближи при овена и се разсвирепи против него, и като удари овена счупи двата му рога; и нямаше сила в овена да устои пред него; но го хвърли на земята и го стъпка; и нямаше кой да отърве овена от силата му.

8 ` And the young he-goat hath exerted itself very much, and when it is strong, broken hath been the great horn; and come up doth a vision of four in its place, at the four winds of the heavens.

Затова козелът се възвеличи много; а когато заякна, големият му рог се счупи, вместо който излязоха четири бележити <рога> към четирите небесни ветрища.

9 A nd from the one of them come forth hath a little horn, and it exerteth itself greatly toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the beauteous;

И из единия от тях излезе един малък рог, който порасна твърде много към юг, към изток и към славната <земя>.

10 y ea, it exerteth unto the host of the heavens, and causeth to fall to the earth of the host, and of the stars, and trampleth them down.

Той се възвеличи дори до небесната войска, и хвърли на земята част от множеството и от звездите и ги стъпка.

11 A nd unto the prince of the host it exerteth itself, and by it taken away hath been the continual, and thrown down the base of his sanctuary.

Да! Възвеличи се дори до началника на множеството, и отне от него всегдашната <жертва>; и мястото на светилището му се съсипа.

12 A nd the host is given up, with the continual, through transgression, and it throweth down truth to the earth, and it hath worked, and prospered.

И множеството биде предадено нему заедно с всегдашната <жертва>, поради престъплението <им>; и той тръшна на земята истината, стори <по волята си>, и успя.

13 ` And I hear a certain holy one speaking, and a certain holy one saith to the wonderful numberer who is speaking: Till when the vision of the continual, and of the transgression, an astonishment, to make both sanctuary and host a treading down?

Тогава чух един свет да говори; и друг свет рече на този, който говореше: До кога се простира видението <за> всегдашната <жертва>, и за престъплението, което докара запустение, когато светилището и множеството ще бъдат потъпквани?

14 A nd he saith unto me, Till evening -- morning two thousand and three hundred, then is the holy place declared right.

И каза ми: До две хиляди и триста денонощия; тогава светилището ще се очисти.

15 ` And it cometh to pass in my seeing -- I, Daniel -- the vision, that I require understanding, and lo, standing over-against me as the appearance of a mighty one.

И когато аз, аз Даниил, видях видението, поисках да го разбера. И, ето, застана пред мене <нещо> като човешки образ;

16 A nd I hear a voice of man between Ulai, and he calleth and saith: Gabriel, cause this to understand the appearance.

и чух човешки глас, който извика изсред <бреговете> на Улай и рече: Гаврииле, направи тоя човек да разбере видението.

17 A nd he cometh in near my station, and at his coming in I have been afraid, and I fall on my face, and he saith unto me: Understand, son of man, for at the time of the end the vision.

И така, той се приближи гдето стоях; и когато дойде аз се уплаших и паднах на лицето си; а той ми рече: Разбери, сине човешки; защото видението се отнася до последните времена.

18 A nd in his speaking with me, I have been in a trance on my face, on the earth; and he cometh against me, and causeth me to stand on my station,

И като ми говореше, аз паднах в несвяст с лицето си на земята; но той се допря до мене и ме изправи.

19 a nd saith: Lo, I -- I am causing thee to know that which is in the latter end of the indignation; for, at the appointed time the end.

И рече: Ето, аз ще те науча що има да се случи в последните гневни времена; защото <видението> се отнася до определеното последно време.

20 ` The ram that thou hast seen possessing two horns, the kings of Media and Persia.

Двата рога на овена, които си видял, са царете на Мидия и на Персия.

21 A nd the young he-goat, the hairy one, the king of Javan; and the great horn that between its eyes is the first king;

Буйният козел е гръцкият цар; и големият рог между очите му е първият цар.

22 a nd that being broken, stand up do four in its place, four kingdoms from the nation do stand up, and not in its power.

А гдето се строшил той и излезли четири вместо него<, значи>, че четири царе ще се издигнат от <тоя> народ, но не със сила като неговата.

23 ` And in the latter end of their kingdom, about the perfecting of the transgressors, stand up doth a king, fierce of face, and understanding hidden things;

И в послешните времена на царуването им, когато беззаконниците стигнат до върха <на беззаконието си>, ще се издигне цар с жестоко лице и вещ в лукавщини.

24 a nd his power hath been mighty, and not by his own power; and wonderful things he destroyeth, and he hath prospered, and wrought, and destroyed mighty ones, and the people of the Holy Ones.

И силата му ще бъде голяма, но не като силата на <другия>; и ще погубва чудесно, ще успява и върши <по волята си>, и ще поквари силните и светите люде.

25 ` And by his understanding he hath also caused deceit to prosper in his hand, and in his heart he exerteth himself, and by ease he destroyeth many; and against the prince of princes he standeth -- and without hand he is broken.

Чрез коварството си ще направи да успява измамата в ръката му, ще се надигне в сърцето си, и ще погуби мнозина в спокойствието им; ще въстане и против Началника на началниците; но ще бъде смазан, не с ръка.

26 A nd the appearance of the evening and of the morning, that is told, is true; and thou, hide thou the vision, for after many days.'

А казаното видение за денонощията е вярно; все пак, обаче, запечатай видението, защото се отнася до далечни дни.

27 A nd I, Daniel, have been, yea, I became sick days, and I rise, and do the king's work, and am astonished at the appearance, and there is none understanding.

Тогава аз Даниил примрях, и боледувах няколко дни; после станах и вършех царските работи. А чудех се за видението, защото никой не го разбираше.
