1 A nd Athaliah mother of Ahaziah, and she hath seen that her son dead, and she riseth, and destroyeth all the seed of the kingdom;

А Готолия Охозиевата майка, като видя, че синът й умря, стана та погуби целия царски род.

2 a nd Jehosheba daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahaziah, taketh Joash son of Ahaziah, and stealeth him out of the midst of the sons of the king who are put to death, him and his nurse, in the inner part of the bed-chambers, and they hide him from the presence of Athaliah, and he hath not been put to death,

Но Иосавеета, дъщеря на цар Иорама, сестра на Охозия, взе Иоаса, Охозиевия син, та го открадна изсред царските синове, като ги убиваха; и скриха го от Готолия в спалнята, заедно с дойката му, та не биде убит.

3 a nd he is with her, in the house of Jehovah, hiding himself, six years, and Athaliah is reigning over the land.

И беше при нея, скрит в Господния дом, шест години; а Готолия царуваше над земята.

4 A nd in the seventh year hath Jehoiada sent and taketh the heads of the hundreds, of the executioners and of the runners, and bringeth them in unto him, to the house of Jehovah, and maketh with them a covenant, and causeth them to swear in the house of Jehovah, and sheweth them the son of the king,

Но в седмата година Иодай прати и, като взе стотниците на палачите и на телохранителите, доведе ги при себе си в Господния дом; после, като направи договор с тях и ги закле в Господния дом, показа им царския син.

5 a nd commandeth them, saying, `This the thing that ye do; The third of you going in on the sabbath, and keepers of the charge of the house of the king,

И заповяда им казвайки: Ето какво трябва да направите: една трета от вас, които постъпвате <на служба> в събота, нека пази стража при царската къща,

6 a nd the third at the gate of Sur, and the third at the gate behind the runners, and ye have kept the charge of the house pulled down;

една трета при портата Сур и една трета при портата, която е зад телохранителите; така да пазите стража при къщата, за да не влезе никой.

7 a nd two parts of you, all going out on the sabbath -- they have kept the charge of the house of Jehovah about the king,

И всички от вас, и от двата отдела, които оставяте <службата> в събота, нека пазят стража при Господния дом около царя.

8 a nd ye have compassed the king round about, each with his weapons in his hand, and he who is coming unto the ranges is put to death; and be ye with the king in his going out and in his coming in.'

И да окръжавате царя от всяка страна, като всеки държи оръжията си в ръка; а който би влязъл в редовете да бъде убит; и да бъдете с царя при излизането му и при влизането му.

9 A nd the heads of the hundreds do according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded, and take each his men going in on the sabbath, with those going out on the sabbath, and come in unto Jehoiada the priest,

И тъй, стотниците извършиха всичко според както заповяда свещеник Иодай, и взеха всеки мъжете си - ония, които щяха да постъпят <на служба> в събота, и ония, които щяха да оставят <службата> в събота - та дойдоха при свещеника Иодай.

10 a nd the priest giveth to the heads of the hundreds the spears and the shields that king David had, that in the house of Jehovah.

И свещеникът даде на стотниците цар Давидовите копия и щитове, които бяха в Господния дом.

11 A nd the runners stand, each with his weapons in his hand, from the right shoulder of the house unto the left shoulder of the house, by the altar and by the house, by the king round about;

И телохранителите, всеки с оръжията си в ръка, стояха около царя, от дясната страна на дома до лявата му страна, край олтара и край дома.

12 a nd he bringeth out the son of the king, and putteth on him the crown, and the testimony, and they make him king, and anoint him, and smite the hand, and say, `Let the king live.'

Тогава <Иодай> изведе царския син та положи на него короната и <му връчи божественото> заявление; и направиха го цар и помазаха го; после изпляскаха с ръце и казаха: Да живее царят!

13 A nd Athaliah heareth the voice of the runners of the people, and she cometh in unto the people, to the house of Jehovah,

А Готолия, като чу вика от телохранителите и от людете, дойде при людете в Господния дом,

14 a nd looketh, and lo, the king is standing by the pillar, according to the ordinance, and the heads, and the trumpets, by the king, and all the people of the land are rejoicing, and blowing with trumpets, and Athaliah rendeth her garments, and calleth, `Conspiracy! conspiracy!'

и погледна, и, ето, царят стоеше при стълба, според обичая, и военачалниците и тръбите при царя и всичките люде от страна се радваха и свиреха с тръбите. Тогава Готолия раздра дрехите си и извика: Заговор! заговор!

15 A nd Jehoiada the priest commandeth the heads of the hundreds, inspectors of the force, and saith unto them, `Bring her out unto the outside of the ranges, and him who is going after her, put to death by the sword:' for the priest had said, `Let her not be put to death in the house of Jehovah.'

И свещеник Иодай заповяда на стотниците, поставени над силите, та им рече: Извадете я вън от редовете, и който би я последвал, убий го с меч; защото свещеникът беше казал: Да не бъде убита в Господния дом.

16 A nd they make for her sides, and she entereth the way of the entering in of the horses to the house of the king, and is put to death there.

И така отстъпиха й място; и тя отиде през пътя на конския вход в царската къща; и там биде убита.

17 A nd Jehoiada maketh the covenant between Jehovah and the king and the people, to be for a people to Jehovah, and between the king and the people.

Тогава Иодай направи завет между Господа и царя и людете, че ще бъдат Господни люде - също и между царя и людете.

18 A nd all the people of the land go in to the house of Baal, and break it down, its altars and its images they have thoroughly broken, and Mattan priest of Baal they have slain before the altars; and the priest setteth inspectors over the house of Jehovah,

И всичките люде от земята влязоха във Вааловото капище та го събориха, жертвениците му и кумирите му изпотрошиха съвсем, и Вааловия жрец Матан убиха пред жертвениците. И свещеникът постави надзиратели над Господния дом.

19 a nd taketh the heads of the hundreds, and the executioners, and the runners, and all the people of the land, and they bring down the king from the house of Jehovah, and come by the way of the gate of the runners, to the house of the king, and he sitteth on the throne of the kings.

Тогава, като взе стотниците, палачите, телохранителите и всичките люде от страната, изведоха царя от Господния дом; и дойдоха в царската къща през пътя към портата на телохранителите, и той седна на царския престол.

20 A nd all the people of the land rejoice, and the city quiet, and Athaliah they have put to death by the sword in the house of the king;

Така всичките люде от страната се зарадваха, и градът се успокои; а Готолия убиха с меч при царската къща.

21 a son of seven years is Jehoash in his reigning.

Иоас беше на седем години, когато се възцари.
