1 A nd Joshua riseth early in the morning, and they journey from Shittim, and come in unto the Jordan, he and all the sons of Israel, and they lodge there before they pass over.

Тогава Исус стана рано; и като се дигнаха от Ситим, той и всичките израилтяни, дойдоха до Иордан, и там пренощуваха преди да преминат.

2 A nd it cometh to pass, at the end of three days, that the authorities pass over into the midst of the camp,

А след три дена началниците преминаха през стана

3 a nd command the people, saying, `When ye see the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your God, and the priests, the Levites, bearing it, then ye journey from your place, and have gone after it;

и заповядаха на людете като казаха: Когато видите ковчега <за плочите> на завета на Господа вашия Бог, и че левитските свещеници го носят, тогава и вие да се дигнете от местата си и да вървите след него.

4 o nly, a distance is between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure; ye do not come near unto it, so that ye know the way in which ye go, for ye have not passed over in the way heretofore.'

Но между вас и него да има около две хиляди лакътя разстояние по мярка; да се не приближите при него, за да знаете пътя, по който трябва да вървите; защото до сега не сте минавали през тоя път.

5 A nd Joshua saith unto the people, `Sanctify yourselves, for to-morrow doth Jehovah do in your midst wonders.'

Исус каза още на людете: Осветете се, защото утре Господ ще извърши всред вас чудни дела.

6 A nd Joshua speaketh unto the priests, saying, `Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people;' and they take up the ark of the covenant, and go before the people.

Исус говори и на свещениците, казвайки: Дигнете ковчега <за плочите> на завета и заминете пред людете. Те, прочее, дигнаха ковчега на завета и вървяха пред людете.

7 A nd Jehovah saith unto Joshua, `This day I begin to make thee great in the eyes of all Israel, so that they know that as I was with Moses I am with thee;

И Господ рече на Исуса: Днес почвам да те възвеличавам пред целия Израил, за да познаят, че както бях с Моисея, така ще бъда и с тебе.

8 a nd thou, thou dost command the priests bearing the ark of the covenant, saying, When ye come unto the extremity of the waters of the Jordan -- in the Jordan ye stand.'

А ти заповядай на свещениците, които носят ковчега <за плочите> на завета, като кажеш: Когато стигнете при брега на Иорданската вода, застанете в Иордан.

9 A nd Joshua saith unto the sons of Israel, `Come nigh hither, and hear the words of Jehovah your God;

Тогава Исус каза на израилтяните: Приближете се тук и слушайте думите на Господа вашия Бог.

10 a nd Joshua saith, `By this ye know that the living God in your midst, and He doth certainly dispossess from before you the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Hivite, and the Perizzite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Jebusite:

И рече Исус: От това ще познаете, че живият Бог е всред вас, и че съвсем ще изгони отпред вас ханаанците, хетейците, евейците, ферезейците, гергесейците, аморейците и евусейците.

11 l o, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth is passing over before you into Jordan;

Ето, ковчегът на завета на Господа на целия свят върви пред вас в Иордан.

12 a nd now, take for you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, one man -- one man for a tribe;

Сега, прочее, изберете си дванадесет мъже от Израилевите племена, по един мъж от всяко племе.

13 a nd it hath been, at the resting of the soles of the feet of the priests bearing the ark of Jehovah, Lord of all the earth, in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan are cut off -- the waters which are coming down from above -- and they stand -- one heap.'

И щом стъпят във водата на Иордан стъпалата на нозете на свещениците, които носят ковчега на Иеова, Господа на целия свят, Иорданската вода, водата, която слиза от горе, ще се раздели и ще застане на куп.

14 A nd it cometh to pass, in the journeying of the people from their tents to pass over the Jordan, and of the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people,

И тъй, щом се дигнаха людете от шатрите си, като бяха пред людете свещениците, които носеха ковчега на завета, за да преминат Иордан,

15 a nd at those bearing the ark coming in unto the Jordan, and the feet of the priests bearing the ark have been dipped in the extremity of the waters (and the Jordan is full over all its banks all the days of harvest) --

и щом дойдоха до Иордан ония, които носеха ковчега, и нозете на свещениците, които носеха ковчега, се намокриха в края на водата, (защото Иордан наводнява всичките си брегове през цялото време на жетвата),

16 t hat the waters stand; those coming down from above have risen -- one heap, very far above Adam the city, which at the side of Zaretan; and those going down by the sea of the plain, the Salt Sea, have been completely cut off; and the people have passed through over-against Jericho;

водата, която слизаше от горе застана и се издигна на куп много надалеч, при града Адам, който е край Царетан; а <водата>, която течеше надолу към полското море, то ест, Соленото море, се свърши и изчезна; и людете преминаха срещу Ерихон.

17 a nd the priests bearing the ark of the covenant of Jehovah stand on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan -- established, and all Israel are passing over on dry ground till that all the nation hath completed to pass over the Jordan.

А свещениците, които носеха ковчега на Господния завет, стояха твърди на сухо всред Иордан; и целият Израил преминаваха по сухо догдето целият народ съвсем премина Иордан.
