1 A nd Isaac calleth unto Jacob, and blesseth him, and commandeth him, and saith to him, `Thou dost not take a wife of the daughters of Caanan;

Тогава Исаак повика Якова, и, като го благослови, поръча му, казвайки: Да не вземеш жена от ханаанските дъщери.

2 r ise, go to Padan-Aram, to the house of Bethuel, thy mother's father, and take for thyself from thence a wife, of the daughters of Laban, thy mother's brother;

Стани, иди в Падан-арам, в дома на майчиния ти баща Ватуил, и от там вземи жена, от дъщерите на вуйчо ти Лавана.

3 a nd God Almighty doth bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and thou hast become an assembly of peoples;

И Бог Всемогъщи да те благослови и да те наплоди и умножи, така щото да произлязат от тебе редица племена;

4 a nd He doth give to thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee and to thy seed with thee, to cause thee to possess the land of thy sojournings, which God gave to Abraham.'

и даденото на Авраама благословение да го даде на тебе и на потомството ти с тебе, за да наследиш земята в която си пришелец, която Бог даде на Авраама.

5 A nd Isaac sendeth away Jacob, and he goeth to Padan-Aram, unto Laban, son of Bethuel the Aramaean, brother of Rebekah, mother of Jacob and Esau.

Така Исаак изпрати Якова; и той отиде в Падан-арам при Лавана, син на сириеца Ватуила, и брат на Ревека, майка на Якова и Исава.

6 A nd Esau seeth that Isaac hath blessed Jacob, and hath sent him to Padan-Aram to take to himself from thence a wife -- in his blessing him that he layeth a charge upon him, saying, Thou dost not take a wife from the daughters of Canaan --

А Исав, като видя, че Исаак благослови Якова и го изпрати в Падан-арам, да си вземе жена от там, и че, като го благослови, поръча му, казвайки: Да не вземеш жена от Ханаанските дъщери;

7 t hat Jacob hearkeneth unto his father and unto his mother, and goeth to Padan-Aram --

и че Яков послуша баща си и майка си та отиде в Падан-арам;

8 a nd Esau seeth that the daughters of Canaan are evil in the eyes of Isaac his father,

и като видя Исав, че ханаанските дъщери не се нравеха на баща му Исаака,

9 a nd Esau goeth unto Ishmael, and taketh Mahalath, daughter of Ishmael, Abraham's son, sister of Nebajoth, unto his wives, to himself, for a wife.

то Исав отиде при Исмаила и, освен другите си жени, взе за жена и Маелета, дъщеря на Авраамовия син Исмаил, сестра на Новаита.

10 A nd Jacob goeth out from Beer-Sheba, and goeth toward Haran,

Яков, прочее, излезе от Вирсавее и отиде към Харан.

11 a nd he toucheth at a place, and lodgeth there, for the sun hath gone in, and he taketh of the stones of the place, and maketh his pillows, and lieth down in that place.

И, като стигна на едно място, пренощува там, защото слънцето беше залязло; и взе от мястото един камък та го тури за възглавница, и легна да спи на това място.

12 A nd he dreameth, and lo, a ladder set up on the earth, and its head is touching the heavens; and lo, messengers of God are going up and coming down by it;

И сънува, и ето стълба изправена на земята, чийто връх стигаше до небето; и Божиите ангели се качваха и слизаха по нея.

13 a nd lo, Jehovah is standing upon it, and He saith, `I Jehovah, God of Abraham thy father, and God of Isaac; the land on which thou art lying, to thee I give it, and to thy seed;

И Господ стоеше над нея, и каза: Аз съм Господ, Бог на баща ти Авраама, и Бог на Исаака; земята на която лежиш ще дам на тебе и на потомството ти.

14 a nd thy seed hath been as the dust of the land, and thou hast broken forth westward, and eastward, and northward, and southward, and all families of the ground have been blessed in thee and in thy seed.

Твоето потомство ще бъде <многочислено>, като земния пясък; ти ще се разшириш към запад и към изток, към север и към юг; и чрез тебе и чрез твоето потомство ще се благословят всички племена на земята.

15 ` And lo, I with thee, and have kept thee whithersoever thou goest, and have caused thee to turn back unto this ground; for I leave thee not till that I have surely done that which I have spoken to thee.'

Ето, Аз съм с тебе и ще те пазя, където и да идеш, и ще те върна пак в тая земя; защото няма да те оставя, докле не извърша това, за което ти говорих.

16 A nd Jacob awaketh out of his sleep, and saith, `Surely Jehovah is in this place, and I knew not;'

А като се събуди Яков от съня си, рече: Наистина Господ е на това място, а аз не съм знаел.

17 a nd he feareth, and saith, `How fearful this place; this is nothing but a house of God, and this a gate of the heavens.'

И убоя се, и рече: Колко е страшно това място! Това не е друго освен Божий дом, това е врата небесна.

18 A nd Jacob riseth early in the morning, and taketh the stone which he hath made his pillows, and maketh it a standing pillar, and poureth oil upon its top,

На сутринта, като стана Яков рано, взе камъка, който си беше турил за възглавница, изправи го за стълб, и изля масло на върха му.

19 a nd he calleth the name of that place Bethel, and yet, Luz the name of the city at the first.

И наименува онова място Ветил {Божий дом.}; а преди името на града беше Луз.

20 A nd Jacob voweth a vow, saying, `Seeing God is with me, and hath kept me in this way which I am going, and hath given to me bread to eat, and a garment to put on --

Тогава Яков се обрече и каза: Ако бъде Бог с мене, и ме опази в това пътуване, по което отивам, и ми даде хляб да ям и дрехи да се облека,

21 w hen I have turned back in peace unto the house of my father, and Jehovah hath become my God,

така щото да се завърна с мир в бащиния си дом, тогава Господ ще бъде мой Бог,

22 t hen this stone which I have made a standing pillar is a house of God, and all that Thou dost give to me -- tithing I tithe to Thee.'

и тоя камък, който изправих за стълб, ще бъде Божий дом; и от всичко, що ми дадеш, ще дам десетък на Тебе.
