1 A nd the ark of Jehovah is in the field of the Philistines seven months,

Господният ковчег стоя във Филистимската земя седем месеца;

2 a nd the Philistines call for priests and for diviners, saying, `What do we do to the ark of Jehovah? let us know wherewith we send it to its place?'

и тогава филистимците повикаха жреците и чародеите и казаха: Що да сторим с Господния ковчег? Кажете ни как да го изпратим на мястото му?

3 A nd they say, `If ye are sending away the ark of the God of Israel, ye do not send it away empty; for ye do certainly send back to Him a guilt-offering; then ye are healed, and it hath been known to you why His hand doth not turn aside from you.'

А те рекоха: Ако изпратите ковчега на Израилевия Бог, не го изпращайте празен, но непременно му отдайте принос за престъпление; тогава ще оздравеете, и ще узнаете защо ръката Му не се е оттеглила от вас.

4 A nd they say, `What the guilt-offering which we send back to Him?' and they say, `The number of the princes of the Philistines -- five golden emerods, and five golden mice -- for one plague to you all, and to your princes,

И казаха: Какъв принос за престъпление трябва да му отдадем? А те рекоха: Пет златни хемороиди и пет златни мишки, <според> числото на филистимските началници; защото същата язва беше върху всички вас и върху началниците ви.

5 a nd ye have made images of your emerods, and images of your mice that are corrupting the land, and have given honour to the God of Israel; it may be He doth lighten His hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land;

Затова, да направите подобия на хемороидите си, и подобия на мишките, които повреждат земята ви; и да отдадете слава на Израилевия Бог, та дано би олекчил ръката Си над вас, над боговете ви, и над земята ви.

6 a nd why do ye harden your heart as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their heart? do they not -- when He hath rolled Himself upon them -- send them away, and they go?

Защо, прочее, закоравявате сърцата си, както египтяните и Фараон закоравиха сърцата си? След като извърши чудеса всред тях, те не пуснаха ли людете да си отидат, и те тръгнаха?

7 ` And now, take and make one new cart, and two suckling kine, on which a yoke hath not gone up, and ye have bound the kine in the cart, and caused their young ones to turn back from after them to the house,

И тъй сега, вземете си една нова кола, та я пригответе, <вземете> и две дойни крави, на които хомот не е турян, и впрегнете кравите в колата, а телците им <вземете> отподир тях и върнете ги у дома.

8 a nd ye have taken the ark of Jehovah, and put it on the cart, and the vessels of gold which ye have returned to Him -- a guilt-offering -- ye put in a coffer on its side, and have sent it away, and it hath gone;

Тогава вземете Господния ковчег та го турете на колата; и златните неща, които Му отдавате в принос за престъпление, турете в ковчежец от страната му; и изпратете го да иде.

9 a nd ye have seen, if the way of its own border it goeth up to Beth-Shemesh -- He hath done to us this great evil; and if not, then we have known that His hand hath not come against us; an accident it hath been to us.'

И гледайте: ако тръгне по пътя към своята граница у Ветсемес, тогава Той ни е сторил това голямо зло; но ако не, тогава ние ще знаем, че не е Неговата ръка, която ни е поразила, но това ни е постигнало случайно.

10 A nd the men do so, and take two suckling kine, and bind them in the cart, and their young ones they have shut up in the house;

И мъжете сториха така: взеха две дойни крави, та ги впрегнаха в колата, а телците им затвориха у дома.

11 a nd they place the ark of Jehovah upon the cart, and the coffer, and the golden mice, and the images of their emerods.

И положиха на колата Господния ковчег, и ковчежеца със златните мишки и подобията на хемороидите си.

12 A nd the kine go straight in the way, on the way to Beth-Shemesh, in one highway they have gone, going and lowing, and have not turned aside right or left; and the princes of the Philistines are going after them unto the border of Beth-Shemesh.

И кравите се отправиха по пътя направо за Витсемес; все по друма вървяха, и ревяха, като отиваха, без да се обръщат ни на дясно, ни на ляво; а филистимските началници идеха подир тях до границата на Ветсемес.

13 A nd the Beth-Shemeshites are reaping their wheat-harvest in the valley, and they lift up their eyes, and see the ark, and rejoice to see.

А ветсемесците жънеха пшеницата си в долината; и като подигнаха очи, видяха ковчега, и като го видяха, зарадваха се.

14 A nd the cart hath come in unto the field of Joshua the Beth-Shemeshite, and standeth there, and there a great stone, and they cleave the wood of the cart, and the kine they have caused to ascend -- a burnt-offering to Jehovah.

И колата влезе в нивата на Исуса ветсемесеца та застана там, гдето имаше голям камък; и нацепиха дървата на колата, та принесоха кравите във всеизгаряне Господу.

15 A nd the Levites have taken down the ark of Jehovah, and the coffer which with it, in which the vessels of gold, and place on the great stone; and the men of Beth-Shemesh have caused to ascend burnt-offerings and sacrifice sacrifices in that day to Jehovah;

Тогава левитите снеха Господния ковчег и ковчежеца, който беше с него, в който бяха златните неща, и ги положиха на големия камък; и в същия ден ветсемеските мъже принесоха всеизгаряния и пожертвуваха жертви Господу.

16 a nd the five princes of the Philistines have seen, and turn back Ekron, on that day.

А петимата филистимски началници, като видяха това, върнаха се в Акарон в същия ден.

17 A nd these the golden emerods which the Philistines have sent back -- a guilt-offering to Jehovah: for Ashdod one, for Gaza one, for Ashkelon one, for Gath one, for Ekron one;

А златните хемороиди, които филистимците отдадоха Господу в принос за престъпление, бяха следните: един за Азот, един за Газа, един за Аскалон, един за Гет, един за Акарон;

18 a nd the golden mice -- the number of all the cities of the Philistines -- for the five princes, from the fenced city even unto the hamlet of the villages, even unto the great meadow on which they placed the ark of Jehovah -- unto this day in the field of Joshua the Beth-Shemeshite.

а златните мишки бяха< според> числото на всичките филистимски градове принадлежащи на петимата началници, както оградените градове, така и неоградените села, дори до големия камък {Или: Авел.}, на който положиха Господния ковчег, - <камък, който стои> до днес в нивата на Исуса ветсемесеца.

19 A nd He smiteth among the men of Beth-Shemesh, for they looked into the ark of Jehovah, yea, He smiteth among the people seventy men -- fifty chief men; and the people mourn, because Jehovah smote among the people -- a great smiting.

Но <Господ> порази ветсемеските мъже за гдето погледнаха в Господния ковчег, като порази от людете петдесет хиляди и седемдесет мъже; и людете плакаха, защото Господ порази людете с голямо изтребление.

20 A nd the men of Beth-Shemesh say, `Who is able to stand before Jehovah, this holy God? and unto whom doth He go up from us?'

И ветсемеските мъже казаха: Кой може да застане пред Господа, пред светия тоя Бог? и при кого да отиде Той от нас?

21 A nd they send messengers unto the inhabitants of Kirjath-Jearim, saying, `The Philistines have sent back the ark of Jehovah; come down, take it up unto you.'

Сетне изпратиха вестители до кириатиаримските жители да кажат: Филистимците донесоха назад Господния ковчег; слезте и изкачете го при себе си.
