1 A nd Joseph falleth on his father's face, and weepeth over him, and kisseth him;

2 a nd Joseph commandeth his servants, the physicians, to embalm his father, and the physicians embalm Israel;

И Иосиф заповяда на служащите нему лекари да балсамират баща му; и лекарите балсамираха Израиля,

3 a nd they fulfil for him forty days, for so they fulfil the days of the embalmed, and the Egyptians weep for him seventy days.

като <работиха> над него напълно четиридесет дена; защото толкова е пълното време за балсамиране; и египтяните го оплакваха седемдесет дена.

4 A nd the days of his weeping pass away, and Joseph speaketh unto the house of Pharaoh, saying, `If, I pray you, I have found grace in your eyes, speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,

И като преминаха дните на жалейката за него, Иосиф говори на Фараоновия дом, казвайки: Ако съм придобил вашето благоволение, говорете, моля ви се, в ушите на Фараона, и речете:

5 M y father caused me to swear, saying, Lo, I am dying; in my burying-place which I have prepared for myself in the land of Canaan, there dost thou bury me; and now, let me go up, I pray thee, and bury my father, and return;'

Баща ми ме закле, като каза: Виж, аз умирам; в гроба, който си приготвих в Ханаанската земя, там да ме погребеш. Сега, прочее, нека отида, моля, да погреба баща си; и ще се върна.

6 a nd Pharaoh saith, `Go up and bury thy father, as he caused thee to swear.'

А рече Фараон: Иди, погреби баща си, според както те е заклел.

7 A nd Joseph goeth up to bury his father, and go up with him do all the servants of Pharaoh, elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt,

И така, Иосиф отиде да погребе баща си; и с него отидоха всичките служители на Фараона, старейшините на дома му, и всичките старейшини на Египетската земя,

8 a nd all the house of Joseph, and his brethren, and the house of his father; only their infants, and their flock, and their herd, have they left in the land of Goshen;

също и целият дом на Иосифа, братята му, и бащиният му дом; само челядите си, стадата си и добитъка си оставиха в Гесенската земя.

9 a nd there go up with him both chariot and horsemen, and the camp is very great.

Отидоха с него и колесници и конници, тъй че стана много голямо шествие.

10 A nd they come unto the threshing-floor of Atad, which beyond the Jordan, and they lament there, a lamentation great and very grievous; and he maketh for his father a mourning seven days,

И когато пристигнаха до Атадовото гумно, което е оттатък {Вероятно: на запад от.} Иордан, там ридаха твърде много и силно; и <Иосиф> направи за баща си седмодневна жалейка.

11 a nd the inhabitant of the land, the Canaanite, see the mourning in the threshing-floor of Atad, and say, `A grievous mourning this to the Egyptians;' therefore hath called its name `The mourning of the Egyptians,' which beyond the Jordan.

А ханаанците, тамошните жители, като видяха жалейката при Атадовото гумно, рекоха: египтяните имат голяма жалейка; затова, <мястото>, което е оттатък Иордан, се наименува Авел-мисраим {Т. Е., Египетско ридание.}.

12 A nd his sons do to him so as he commanded them,

Тогава синовете на <Израиля> му сториха, според както им беше заповядал;

13 a nd his sons bear him away to the land of Canaan, and bury him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field for a possession of a burying-place, from Ephron the Hittite, on the front of Mamre.

защото синовете му го пренесоха в Ханаанската земя и го погребаха в пещерата на нивата Махпелах, срещу Мамврий, която <пещера> Авраам купи заедно с нивата за собствено гробище от хетееца Ефрон.

14 A nd Joseph turneth back to Egypt, he and his brethren, and all who are going up with him to bury his father, after his burying his father.

И Иосиф, като погреба баща си, върна се в Египет, той и братята му и всички, които бяха отишли с него да погребат баща му.

15 A nd the brethren of Joseph see that their father is dead, and say, `Peradventure Joseph doth hate us, and doth certainly return to us all the evil which we did with him.'

А като видяха Иосифовите братя, че умря баща им, думаха си: Може би Иосиф да ни намрази и да ни възвърне жестоко за всичкото зло, що сме му сторили.

16 A nd they give a charge for Joseph, saying, `Thy father commanded before his death, saying,

Затова пратиха на Иосифа да му кажат: Преди да умре, баща ти ни заповяда с думите:

17 T hus ye do say to Joseph, I pray thee, bear, I pray thee, with the transgression of thy brethren, and their sin, for they have done thee evil; and now, bear, we pray thee, with the transgression of the servants of the God of thy father;' and Joseph weepeth in their speaking unto him.

Така да кажете на Иосифа: Прости, моля ти се, престъплението на братята си и греха им за злото, което ти сториха. И тъй, прости молим ти се, престъплението на слугите на бащиния ти Бог. А Иосиф се разплака, когато му говориха.

18 A nd his brethren also go and fall before him, and say, `Lo, we to thee for servants.'

После отидоха и братята му та паднаха пред него и рекоха: Ето, ние сме ти слуги.

19 A nd Joseph saith unto them, `Fear not, for I in the place of God?

А Иосиф им каза: Не бойте се; нима съм аз вместо Бога?

20 A s for you, ye devised against me evil -- God devised it for good, in order to do as this day, to keep alive a numerous people;

Вие наистина намислихте зло против мене; но Бог го намисли за добро, за да действува така, щото да спаси живота на много люде, както и стана днес.

21 a nd now, fear not: I do nourish you and your infants;' and he comforteth them, and speaketh unto their heart.

Прочее, не бойте се; аз ще храня вас и челядите ви. И утеши ги и говори им любезно.

22 A nd Joseph dwelleth in Egypt, he and the house of his father, and Joseph liveth a hundred and ten years,

Така Иосиф остана да живее в Египет, той и бащиният му дом. И Иосиф живя сто и десет години;

23 a nd Joseph looketh on Ephraim's sons of the third; sons also of Machir, son of Manasseh, have been born on the knees of Joseph.

и Иосиф видя Ефремови чада от третия род; също и децата на Манасиевия син Махира се родиха на Иосифовите колене.

24 A nd Joseph saith unto his brethren, `I am dying, and God doth certainly inspect you, and hath caused you to go up from this land, unto the land which He hath sworn to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.'

След това, Иосиф рече на братята си: Аз умирам; а Бог непременно ще ви посети, и ще ви заведе от тая земя в земята, за която се е клел на Авраама, Исаака и Якова.

25 A nd Joseph causeth the sons of Israel to swear, saying, `God doth certainly inspect you, and ye have brought up my bones from this.'

И Иосиф закле потомците на Израиля, като рече: <Понеже> Бог непременно ще ви посети, то вие да изнесете костите ми от тука.

26 A nd Joseph dieth, a son of an hundred and ten years, and they embalm him, and he is put into a coffin in Egypt.

И тъй, Иосиф умря, на възраст сто и десет години; и балсамираха го и положиха го в ковчег в Египет.
