1 A nd it cometh to pass, in the days of Ahasuerus -- he Ahasuerus who is reigning from Hodu even unto Cush, seven and twenty and a hundred provinces --

2 i n those days, at the sitting of the king Ahasuerus on the throne of his kingdom, that in Shushan the palace,

в ония дни, когато цар Асуир бе седнал на престола на царството си в столицата Суса,

3 i n the third year of his reign, he hath made a banquet to all his heads and his servants; of the force of Persia and Media, the chiefs and heads of the provinces before him,

в третата година от царуването си, той направи угощение на всичките си първенци и на слугите си, (като пред него бяха най-силните персийски и мидийски <мъже>, големците и първенците на областите),

4 i n his shewing the wealth of the honour of his kingdom, and the glory of the beauty of his greatness, many days -- eighty and a hundred days.

когато за дълго време, сто и осемдесет дни, показваше богатството на славното си царство и блясъка на превъзходното си величие.

5 A nd at the fulness of these days hath the king made to all the people who are found in Shushan the palace, from great even unto small, a banquet, seven days, in the court of the garden of the house of the king --

И когато се изминаха тия дни, царят направи седемдневно угощение на всичките люде, които се намериха в столицата Суса, от голям до малък, в двора на градината на царския палат,

6 w hite linen, white cotton, and blue, fastened with cords of fine linen and purple on rings of silver, and pillars of marble, couches of gold, and of silver, on a pavement of smaragdus, and white marble, and mother-of-pearl, and black marble --

<който бе украсил със завеси> от бял, зелен и син <плат>, прострени на висонени и морави върви, <окачени> със сребърни колелца на мраморни стълбове, и със златни и сребърни канапета върху настилка от порфир и от бял мрамор, от алабастър и от черен мрамор.

7 a nd the giving of drink in vessels of gold, and the vessels divers vessels, and the royal wine abundant, as a memorial of the king.

И наливаха им в златни чаши, (като бяха чашите различни едни от други); и имаше изобилно царско вино, както подобаваше на царя.

8 A nd the drinking according to law, none is pressing, for so hath the king appointed for every chief one of his house, to do according to the pleasure of man and man.

А пиенето ставаше според една издадена заповед, че никой не бива да принуждава, защото царят беше заповядал така на всичките си домостроители, да постъпват според волята на всекиго.

9 A lso Vashti the queen hath made a banquet for women, in the royal house that the king Ahasuerus hath.

А и царица Астин направи на жените угощение в царската къща на цар Асуира.

10 O n the seventh day, as the heart of the king is glad with wine, he hath said to Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven eunuchs who are ministering in the presence of the king Ahasuerus,

А на седмия ден, когато сърцето на царя бе се развеселило от виното, той заповяда на Меумана, на Визата, на Арвона, на Вигта, на Авагта, на Зетара и на Харкаса, седемте скопци, които слугуваха пред цар Асуира,

11 t o bring in Vashti the queen before the king, with a royal crown, to shew the peoples and the heads her beauty, for she of good appearance,

да доведат царица Астин пред царя, носеща царската корона, за да покаже хубостта й на людете и на първенците; защото тя бе красива на глед.

12 a nd the queen Vashti refuseth to come in at the word of the king that by the hand of the eunuchs, and the king is very wroth, and his fury hath burned in him.

Но царица Астин отказа да дойде по царската заповед чрез скопците; за това царят се разяри твърде много, и гневът му пламна в него.

13 A nd the king saith to wise men, knowing the times -- for so the word of the king before all knowing law and judgment,

Тогава рече царят на мъдреците, които познаваха времената, (защото царят имаше обичай така <да се носи> спрямо всички, които знаеха закон и съд;

14 a nd he who is near unto him Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, Memucan, seven heads of Persia and Media seeing the face of the king, who are sitting first in the kingdom --

а втори след него бяха Карсена, Сетар, Адмата, Тарсис, Мерес, Марсена и Мемукан, седемте персийски и мидийски първенци, които имаха достъп при царя {Еврейски: Гледаха лицето на царя.} и заемаха първо място в царството):

15 ` According to law, what -- to do with queen Vashti, because that she hath not done the saying of the king Ahasuerus by the hand of the eunuchs?'

16 A nd Memucan saith before the king and the heads, `Not against the king by himself hath Vashti the queen done perversely, but against all the heads, and against all the peoples that in all provinces of the king Ahasuerus;

И Мемукан отговори пред царя и първенците: Царица Астин не е обидила само царя, но и всичките първенци и всичките племена, които са по всичките области на цар Асуира.

17 f or go forth doth the word of the queen unto all the women, to render their husbands contemptible in their eyes, in their saying, The king Ahasuerus said to bring in Vashti the queen before him, and she did not come;

Защото тая постъпка на царицата ще се разчуе между всичките жени, така щото, когато се разнесе слух, че цар Асуир заповядал да се доведе царица Астин пред него, а тя не дошла, това ще направи мъжете им презрени пред очите им.

18 y ea, this day do princesses of Persia and Media, who have heard the word of the queen, say to all heads of the king, even according to the sufficiency of contempt and wrath.

И днес персийските и мидийските съпруги, които ще са чули за постъпката на царицата, ще говорят <по същия начин> на всичките царски първенци; и от това ще <произлезе> голямо презрение и гняв.

19 ` If to the king good, there goeth forth a royal word from before him, and it is written with the laws of Persia and Media, and doth not pass away, that Vashti doth not come in before the king Ahasuerus, and her royalty doth the king give to her companion who better than she;

Ако е угодно на царя, нека се издаде от него царска заповед, която да се впише между персийските и мидийските закони, за да се не отменява, според която Астин да не дохожда вече пред цар Асуира; и царят нека даде царското й достойнство на друга по-добра от нея.

20 a nd the sentence of the king that he maketh hath been heard in all his kingdom -- for it great -- and all the wives give honour to their husbands, from great even unto small.'

И когато указът, който царят ще издаде, бъде обнародван по цялото му царство, (защото е голямо), всичките жени ще отдават чест на мъжете си, на голям и на малък.

21 A nd the thing is good in the eyes of the king, and of the princes, and the king doth according to the word of Memucan,

И тая дума се хареса на царя и на първенците; и царят стори според каквото каза Мемукан.

22 a nd sendeth letters unto all provinces of the king, unto province and province according to its writing, and unto people and people according to its tongue, for every man being head in his own house -- and speaking according to the language of his people.

Той прати писма по всичките царски области, във всяка област според азбуката й, и на всеки народ според езика му, за да може всеки мъж да бъде господар в дома си, и <в него> да говори по езика на людете си.
