1 A nd Jehoshaphat lieth with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of David, and Jehoram his son reigneth in his stead.

След това, Иосафат заспа с бащите си и биде погребан с бащите си в Давидовия град; и вместо него се възцари син му Иорам.

2 A nd he hath brethren, sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah; all these sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel,

А <Иорам> имаше братя, Иосафатови синове, - Азария, Ехиил, Захария, Азария, Михаил и Сафатия; всички тия бяха синове на Израилевия цар Иосафат.

3 a nd their father giveth to them many gifts of silver and of gold, and of precious things, with fenced cities in Judah, and the kingdom he hath given to Jehoram, for He the first-born.

И баща им беше им дал много подаръци, - сребро, злато и скъпоценни неща, заедно с укрепени градове в Юда; но царството беше дал на Иорама, понеже той бе първороден.

4 A nd Jehoram riseth up over the kingdom of his father, and strengtheneth himself, and slayeth all his brethren with the sword, and also -- of the heads of Israel.

А Иорам, когато се издигна на бащиното си царство и се закрепи, изби всичките си братя с меч, още и неколцина от Израилевите първенци.

5 A son of thirty and two years Jehoram in his reigning, and eight years he hath reigned in Jerusalem,

Иорам бе тридесет и две години на възраст когато се възцари, и царува осем години в Ерусалим.

6 a nd he walketh in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab, for a daughter of Ahab hath been to him for a wife, and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah,

Той ходи в пътя на Израилевите царе, както постъпваше Ахавовият дом, защото жена му беше Ахавова дъщеря; и върши зло пред Господа.

7 a nd Jehovah hath not been willing to destroy the house of David, for the sake of the covenant that He made with David, and as He had said to give to him a lamp, and to his sons -- all the days.

При все това, Господ не иска да изтреби Давидовия дом, заради завета, който бе направил с Давида, и понеже беше обещал, че ще даде светилник нему и на потомците му до века.

8 I n his days hath Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and cause a king to reign over them;

В неговите дни Едом отстъпи изпод ръката на Юда, и си поставиха свой цар.

9 a nd Jehoram passeth over with his heads, and all the chariots with him, and it cometh to pass, he hath risen by night and smiteth the Edomites who are coming round against him, and the princes of the chariots,

Затова, Иорам замина с началниците си, и всичките колесници с него; и като стана през нощ порази едомците, които го обкръжаваха, и началниците на колесниците.

10 a nd Edom revolteth from under the hand of Judah unto this day; then doth Libnah revolt at that time from under his hand, because he hath forsaken Jehovah, God of his fathers,

Обаче, Едом отстъпи из под ръката на Юда, <и остава независим> до днес. Тогава, в същото време, отстъпи и Ливна изпод ръката му, понеже беше оставил Господа Бога на бащите си.

11 a lso, he hath made high places in the mountains of Judah, and causeth the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit whoredom, and compelleth Judah.

Той построи и високи места по Юдовите планини, и направи ерусалимските жители да блудствуват, и разврати Юда.

12 A nd there cometh in unto him a writing from Elijah the prophet, saying, `Thus said Jehovah, God of David thy father, Because that thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, and in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

Тогава дойде до него писмо от пророка Илия, което казваше: Така казва Господ Бог на баща ти Давида: Понеже ти не си ходил в пътищата на баща си Иосафата, нито в пътищата на Юдовия цар Аса,

13 a nd thou dost walk in the way of the kings of Israel, and dost cause Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit whoredom like the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also thy brethren, the house of thy father, who are better than thyself, thou hast slain;

но си ходил в пътя на Израилевите царе, и си направил Юда и ерусалимските жители да блудствуват, както блудствува Ахавовият дом, още си избил и братята си, дома на баща си, които бяха по-добри от тебе,

14 l o, Jehovah is smiting -- a great smiting -- among thy people, and among thy sons, and among thy wives, and among all thy goods --

ето, Господ порази с тежък удар людете ти, чадата ти, жените ти и целия ти имот;

15 a nd thou, with many sicknesses, with disease of thy bowels, till thy bowels come out, by the sickness, day by day.'

и ти тежко ще боледуваш от разстройство на червата си, догдето от болестта червата ти почнат да изтичат от ден на ден.

16 A nd Jehovah waketh up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, who beside the Cushim,

Прочее, Господ подигна против Иорама духа на филистимците и на арабите, които са близо до етиопяните;

17 a nd they come up into Judah, and rend it, and take captive all the substance that is found at the house of the king, and also his sons, and his wives, and there hath not been left to him a son except Jehoahaz the youngest of his sons.

и те възлязоха против Юда, спуснаха се на него, и заграбиха целия имот що се намери в царската къща, още и синовете му и жените му, така щото не му остана син, освен Иоахаз {В 3 Цар. 8: 24 и Гл. 22: 1, Охозия.}, най-младият от синовете му.

18 A nd after all this hath Jehovah plagued him in his bowels by a disease for which there is no healing,

А подир всичко това Господ го порази с неизцерима болест в червата;

19 a nd it cometh to pass, from days to days, and at the time of the going out of the end of two years, his bowels have gone out with his sickness, and he dieth of sore diseases, and his people have not made for him a burning like the burning of his fathers.

и след известно време, на края, след две години, червата му изтекоха поради болестта му; и умря с люти болки. А людете му не гориха <аромати> за него, както бяха горили за бащите му.

20 A son of thirty and two was he in his reigning, and eight years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and he goeth without desire, and they bury him in the city of David, and not in the graves of the kings.

Той беше тридесет и две години на възраст, когато се възцари, и царува в Ерусалим осем години; и пресели се неоплакан; и погребаха го в Давидовия град, обаче не в царските гробища.
